Mildred L. Whitmire

BLACK ROCK — Mildred L. Whitmire, 94, of Black Rock passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center at Jonesboro.

She was born Aug. 15, 1914, at Alicia, and united in marriage to Kenneth Whitmire.

Survivors include a son, Bobby Whitmire of West Plains, Mo.; daughter, Linda Johnson of Black Rock; four grandsons; one granddaughter; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruby Light of Walnut Ridge.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bryan Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 in the chapel.

Tommy Bolt

CHEROKEE VILLAGE — Tommy Bolt, 92, of Cherokee Village died Saturday at the White River Medical Center in Batesville.

Survivors include wife, Mary Lou Bolt of the home; son, Tommy W. Bolt of Evenng Shade; grandchildren, Tracy Jane and Thomas Taylor Bolt, both of Ash Flat; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Private graveside services will be today in Evening Shade Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Morris officiating and arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

No visitation is planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highland High School Golf Team Scholarship Fund at FNBC in Ash Flat.

Louie Jack Campbell

WYNNE — Louie Jack Campbell, 68, of Wynne died Saturday at CrossRidge Hospital.

He was born July 21, 1941, in Colt, the son of the late Thomas Perry and Vera Lee Ward Campbell.

Survivors include daughter, Laura Hill of Cherry Valley; companion, Darlene Fowler; stepchildren, Beth and Cleston; brothers, Randall and Gary Alford; sisters, Billy Cooper and Francis Rushing, both of Wynne; and grandchildren, Austin and Jerry Hill and one on the way.

Graveside services are Wednesday, 10 a.m., in Barnishaw Cemetery at Colt.

Visitation will be tonight, 6-8, at Thompson-Wilson Wynne Funeral Home.

Donna L. Eldridge

JONESBORO — Donna L. Eldridge, 65, of Jonesboro died Monday at Jonesboro Health and Rehab.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Billy Elvis Smithee

RECTOR — Funeral services for 64-year-old Billy Smithee of Rector,who passed away on Aug. 30, 2008, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Carter officiating. Interment will be in Harvey’s Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 6 tonight at the funeral home.

Smithee was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Carl and Jessie Marie Huckabee Smithee; son, Billy Elvis Smithee Jr.; and two grandchildren, Brandy and Nathan Smithee.

He is survived by his wife, Marie of the home; sons, Lonnie and Rosa Smithee of Monette, Jerry Smithee of Rector, Steve and Cheryl Rose of Tennessee, Danny and Heather Rose of Jackson, Mo., and Michael Rose of Rector; daughter, Lisa Underwood of Paragould; brothers, Don Smithee and Dan Smithee, both of Mammoth Springs; and Benny Smithee of Monette; sisters, Rhonda Johnson of Mammoth Springs and Carolyn Rogers of Leachville; grandchildren, Dillon and Destiny Smithee, Angel Speer, Charlie and Danielle Rose, Amy Vangilder, Whitney Underwood, D.J. and Vanessa Rose, Timmy Hill, Ashley and Brandon Hendon, Tara and Josh Williams; great-grandchildren, Bailey Hoots, Ma Kenna Speer, Lexie Green and Lawson, Harley Rose and Baby Speer, yet to come.

Pallbearers will be Lonnie Smithee, Joe Smithee, Jerry Smithee, Bryce Smithee, Steve Rose, Danny Rose, Michael Rose and Stephen Speer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Johnson, Pewee Johnson, Floyd Johnson, Steve Smithee, Daniel Smithee, J.C. Smithee, Tim Hill and Daniel Smithee.

Henry Lee Zuber

TUCKERMAN — Henry Lee Zuber, 66 of Tuckerman died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at Searcy.

Mr. Zuber was a veteran and a member of Glenn Street Church of Christ in Tuckerman.

He was preceded in death by one infant son, Michael Zuber; his parents, Henry C. Zuber and Hattie (Brown) Zuber; and two sisters, Kathleen Roy and Joanda Clark.

Mr. Zuber is survived by his wife of 37 years, Brenda; one son, Phil Zuber of Newport; two brothers, Eugene Zuber and wife Martha of Bradford and Gary Zuber and wife Alice of Maryland; and a special dog named Bubba.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Dillinger Chapel with burial in Dowell’s Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tonight, 6-8, at the funeral home.

Arrangements provided by Dillinger Funeral Home.

Connie Day Bible

BALCH — Ms. Connie Day Bible, 54, of Balch died Tuesday at Searcy.

She was born March 26, 1954, at Newport, the daughter of E.G. and Wanda Maye Reiman Bible. She loved nature, butterflies, riding 4-wheelers and being outdoors.

She is survived by her parents, E.G. and Wanda Bible of Franklin; two brothers, Kenny Bible of Tuckerman and Kearney Blalack of Cabot; one sister, Rhonda Boone of Houston; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Tuckerman Free Will Baptist Church with arrangements by Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home.

Jim Bridgeman

JONESBORO — Jim Bridgeman, 87, of Jonesboro died Aug. 20.

Born in Opelika, Ala., Jim moved to Jonesboro from Cleveland about five years ago.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his longtime friend and companion, Helen Craighead of the home; daughter, Frances Gordon of Selma, Ala; grandchildren, Michael Bridgeman, Michele Coble and Shavonne White, all of Bedford Heights, Ohio; five great-grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; and a brother, Bobby Jones of Tallassee, Ala.

Graveside services will be today at 11 a.m. in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at Memphis under the direction of Woodard’s Jonesboro Funeral Service.

Dorris Jean Campbell

LEMOORE, Calif. — Dorris Jean Campbell, 47, of Lemoore Calif., died Aug. 19, 2008, at Community Hospital in Lemoore.

Survivors include her son, Tyrone E. McCray of Wrightsville; mother, Letha Brown of Blytheville; brothers, Roosevelt Conley of Lemoore and Keneth Brown of Blytheville; and sisters, Shirley Jean White of Elkhart, Ind., Helen S. Bonner of Blytheville and Sandra Wyatt of Lemoore.

Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Wilson’s Blytheville Funeral Home.

Georgia Rose Gibbons

ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia Rose Gibbons, 94, of Athens, Ga., formerly of Leachville, died Monday at the Arbor Terrace Assisted Living Facility at Athens.

Born at the Poplar Corner community near Leachville, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Georgia Beauchamp Minirth and had lived most of her life in Leachville.

She was the widow of James Rose, who died in 1978, and Tommy Gibbons, who passed away in 2002. She was a homemaker and longtime member of Leachville First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Claude Rose of Jackson, Miss.; and daughter, Mary Mellein of Watkinsville, Ga. She also leaves five grandchildren, Jonathan, Jennifer, Timothy, Lisa and Mark; and three great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Tate and Bella Elizabeth.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Howard Funeral Service Chapel at Leachville with the Rev. Rudy Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors Friday evening from 6-8 in the funeral home.

Molly Faith Godwin

REYNO — Molly Faith Godwin, 46, passed away Tuesday at St. Bernards Medical Center.

She was born April 1, 1962, in Belvidere, Ill.

Survivors include her husband, Douglas Godwin of Reyno; two daughters, Brandy Godwin of Reyno and Britney Godwin; and one son, Travis Godwin, of the home; five sisters, Delinda Peterson of Florida, Melissa Kirk of Arkansas, Carmen Raines, Lynn Hanna and Becky Turner, all of Texas; and an honorary sister, Lisa Rangel of Illinois; her father, Edward and mother, Mary Turner of Texas.

Her brother, Wayne Turner preceded her in death.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Johnston Cemetery at Reyno with Roger Hovis officiating.

Visitation will be from 5-8 this evening.
