Robalene McClelland

MONETTE — Robalene “Robbie” McClelland, 58, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, near Monette.

Born at Leachville, she was a counselor for the South Mississippi County School System and was a member of the First Assembly of God in Monette. Robbie was devoted to her church and to her family. She loved working with the kids at her school and working with in her yard, especially with flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, R.L. and Dona Davidson McClelland; two brothers, Lloyd Earl McClelland and Gene Austin McClelland; and one sister, Bonnie Sue Larue.

She is survived by two sisters, Labelva Ammons of Knoxville, Tenn., and Glenda Cleghorn and husband J.C. of Jonesboro; two brothers, Wayland McClelland and wife Karen of Monette, and Reuben McClelland and wife Patricia of Jonesboro; one brother-in-law, Richard Larue of Trumann; one sister-in-law, Jo Margaret McClelland of Paragould; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday in the First Assembly of God in Monette at 10 a.m. with Terry Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Macey Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are W.T. Bibb, Ralph Hunter, James Cleghorn, Blake McClelland, Keith Rubottom and Barry Cleghorn.

A visitation will be held tonight from 6-8 in Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

The family requests lasting memorials be made to the First Assembly of God in Monette.

Arthur Moore

OTWELL — Arthur Moore, 97, entered into eternal rest Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at his home near Otwell.

He was born in Randolph County on Oct. 19, 1910. He spent most of his adult life farming southwest of Jonesboro in the Gilkerson Community.

He was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was also a former member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and attended Big Creek Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He served on the board of directors for Valley View School and Farmers Union Funeral Home. Arthur was a charter member of the Valley View Ruritan Club and member of Craighead County Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his wife, Eural Elkins Moore; a daughter, Arnetta Tubbs; stepson and his wife, Tommy and Pat Elkins; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Joe and Lynn Tubbs, Margaret and Terry Moody, Jim and Brenda Tubbs, Jerry and Trenea Tubbs, Brandon Elkins, Dawn Elkins, and Chris and Amy Elkins; 12 great-grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Devin Tate, Dustin and Beverly Tubbs, Jennifer and Stephen McCormick, Jerred and Julie Tubbs, Jace and Melissa Tubbs, Autumn Tubbs, Sarah Tubbs, Jeffrey Tubbs, Daniel Tubbs, Hannah Tubbs, Parker Elkins and Kadin Elkins; eight great-great-grandchildren, Chance Tubbs, Jackson Tyler Morris, Cody Tubbs, Emily Morris, Abby McCormick, Rileigh Tate, Jay Tubbs and Sadler McCormick; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 57 years, Reba King Moore; his parents, James Seaborn and Pernetta Moore; three brothers, Clarence, Jeff and Scott Moore; two sisters, Pearl Whitson and Ruby Moore; grandson, Rickie Tubbs; and a son-in-law, Billy Joe Tubbs.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Unity Missionary Baptist Church with Gary Gipson and Ray Broadaway officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary bearers will include Roger Blankenship, James Orr, Henry Sharp, Tim Tyler, Mark Cole, James Murphy, David Orr, Alex Moody, Jack Morris and the Men’s Sunday school class at Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 tonight in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

The family requests that lasting memorials be made to Unity Cemetery Fund c/o Jean Noel, 3675 Arkansas 91, Jonesboro 72404.

James C. Nortier

LITTLE ROCK — James C. “Jim” Nortier, 79, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 19, 2008.

He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Johanna VanHoorn Nortier; four brothers; one sister; and a granddaughter, Cayce.

Jim was a longtime member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and the Grace Bible Class.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret A. “Peggy” Nortier of Little Rock; three sons, Doug, Russell and Todd and his wife Karla; five grandchildren, Kevin with the U.S. Navy stationed in Virginia and his wife Aimee, Travis, Jeremiah, J.T. and Isaiah; two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Alyssa; brothers and sisters, John (Margaret), Pete (Rainey), Wilma Prins and Martina (Jim) Heyboer; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Terry Parrish officiating. Interment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight in Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, (501) 224-8300.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Memorial Garden, 5300 Stagecoach Road, Little Rock 72204, or to the Missionary Baptist Seminary, 5224 Stagecoach Road, Little Rock 72204.

Mary Elizabeth Scott

OSCEOLA — Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Scott, 54, of Osceola entered into rest Saturday, Sept. 20, at SMC Regional Medical Center at Osceola.

She was born Dec. 10, 1953, at Osceola to the late Joe and Lucille Scott.

She is survived by two sons, three sisters, two brothers and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, two brothers and five sisters.

Visitation was held Sunday night in Roller-Swift Funeral Home at Osceola.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today in Roller-Swift Chapel. Burial will follow in Bassett Cemetery.

Cheyenne Patience Spears

HORNERSVILLE, Mo. — Cheyenne Patience Valine Spears, the 3-week-old infant daughter of Leroy and Christie Ball Spears Jr. of Hornersville, died Friday, Sept. 19, at Cardinal-Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.

Cheyenne was born at St. Louis. In addition to her parents, she is survived by four brothers, Tyler and Bradon McComas, Anthony and Lee Allen Spears; grandparents, Harold and Lisa Ball of Leachville and Leroy and Ella Mae Spears of Paragould; great-grandparents, Frances Ball, Norene Whitaker and Glenda Smith, all of Leachville; and great-great-grandmother, Granny Spears of Piedmont, Mo.

Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Leachville Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Diane I. Beagle

HARDY — Diane I. Beagle, 64, of Hardy died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at Baxter County Regional Hospital at Mountain Home.

Diane was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was the daughter of the late William McCaslin and the late Gladys Vanloon McCaslin.

She is survived by her husband, William Beagle; daughter, Kelli Beagle of Indianapolis; son, William Charle Beagle of Brackney, Pa.; and brother, William McCaslin of Byron, Mich.

There will be no public funeral service. Arrangements are being handled by Heath Funeral Home, Oak Hill Chapel, at Highland.

James ‘Monk’ Carr

JONESBORO — James “Monk” Carr, 97, of Jonesboro died Friday at Circle of Life Hospice Care at Springdale.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Leonard Staton Hill

PARAGOULD — Leonard Staton Hill, 83, of Paragould died Thursday at his residence.

Arrangements are incomplete with Heath Funeral Home.

Alan D. Hodges

HENSLEY — Alan D. Hodges, 60, of Hensley passed away at his home.

He was born in Craighead County into the family of Edgar A. Sr. and Vida V. Hodges. He was formerly employed by Frolic Footwear and retired from the Air Force after 23 years. He also was employed by Arkansas Food Bank Network in Little Rock for eight years. He loved fishing and music.

He is survived by his mother, Vida V. Hodges of Jonesboro; three brothers, Edgar Hodges Jr. of the Philippines, Eddie Hodges of Lowry City, Mo., and Douglas Hodges of Jonesboro; three sisters, Mary Herring and Linda Foreman, both of Jonesboro, and Laverne Ward of St. Charles, Mo.

He is preceded in death by his father, Edgar A. Hodges Sr.; and brother, James Laman Hodges.

Active pallbearers will include Freddy Foreman, Kevin Ward, Dennis Johnson, James Watkins, Tim Ehle and J. Rupard.

Funneral services will be held Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at 1 p.m. in Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Wynndel King officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday night from 5-7 in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Micheal James Misak

JONESBORO — Micheal James Misak, 49, of Jonesboro died Thursday, Sept. 25.

He was an employee of Pro Audio and was a former Mason. He was an amateur radio operator, KD5DRR, and was also an animal lover. He was of the Christian belief.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Wyatt of Jonesboro; his mother, Mary Joe Misak of Jonesboro; and four brothers, Edward Lee Misak III of Tampa, Fla., George Robert Misak and his wife Paige of Kingston Springs, Tenn., Daniel Wayne Misak, Joseph Luther Misak and his wife Kathy, all of Jonesboro.

He was preceded in death by his father, E.L. “Ed” Misak Jr.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Bishop Jonathan Mobley of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include Mark Taylor, Edward Lee Misak III, Daniel Wayne Misak, Joseph Luther Misak and George Robert Misak.

Honorary pallbearers will include Rick Forbus, Richard Belk, Mark Denny, James Medlin, Wayne Carter, Andy Willcoxson and anyone who knew and loved Mike.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

The family requests that lasting memorials be made to any of the Northeast Arkansas animal shelters.
