Howard E. Cox

JONESBORO — Howard E. Cox, 83, of Jonesboro died Tuesday at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Lillian Prince Crass

CONWAY — Lillian Prince Crass, 85, went to be with the Lord Monday, Sept. 29, 2008.

She was born in McDougal on Nov. 22, 1922, to John and Mae Garis. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Conway.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, WD Prince and son, Joe Prince, who were both from McDougal; granddaughter, Brandee Hartsfield, who was from Piggott; and grandson, Wesley Hartsfield, who was from Porter, Okla.

She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Sherman Crass; a son, Fred and Linda Prince of Clinton; daughters, Rosielee and Tommy Couch of Newburgh, Ind.; Lucille and Fred Hartsfield of Piggott, Carol and Dave Ricker, Kathy and Ron Cate, Jean Prince, and Norma and Norman Crass, all of Conway; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Virgil and Lucille Garis of Enid, Okla.; and Earl and Laverne Garis of Piggott.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today in Antioch Baptist Church with Jason Aultman officiating. Graveside service will be at 4 p.m. in Post Oak Cemetery at McDougal with Mike Book officiating, under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway, (501) 327-7727.

Jessie Davis

JONESBORO — Jessie Davis, 54, of Jonesboro died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at Jonesboro Health and Rehab Center where he resided.

Born in Proctor on Oct. 24, 1953, to Manuel and Essie Lee Davis, Jessie was a resident of the Jonesboro Human Development Center before moving to Jonesboro Health and Rehab.

Jessie was very friendly and a joy to be around. His bright smile was warm and contagious. He will be missed.

Jessie had no surviving family members. Joy Ring of Walnut Ridge assisted Jessie and was his advocate. The employees, staff and residents of JHDC and JHR were Jessie’s remaining family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dewey Graves officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Malcolm Washington, Jovon Barnes, James Calloway and Billy Rowe.

Visitation will be Thursday from noon until service time in the Chapel.

Paige Shanelle Davis

OSCEOLA — Paige Shanelle Davis, 18, of Osceola died Sept. 29, 2008, in a car accident.

She was born Feb. 22, 1990, to Felix Rutherford of Conway and Pamela Robinson of Osceola, and attended Arkansas Northeastern College.

Other survivors include her son, Jaydon Harris of Osceola; sisters, Jasmine and Teresa Rutherford, both of Conway; and grandparents, Christine Gaston and Don Littleton, both of Osceola.

Her sister, Pariss Robinson, also died in the accident.

Services will be Saturday morning at 11 in Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Macedonia Cemetery at Wilson.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 at Wilson’s Osceola Funeral Home.

Ima Lucille Martin

VAN BUREN — Ima Lucille Martin, 91, formerly of Hoxie, died Sunday.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ezra Martin; sons, Leon and Bob Martin; a grandson; and a great-grandchild.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Penny Ring; grandsons, Marty Martin, Jackie Martin and Mike Jones; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. in House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge with Odell Lindsey and Terry Ring officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home.

Mary ‘Chee-Chee’ Quick

BLYTHEVILLE — Mary “Chee-Chee” Charlene Farrow Quick, 59, of Blytheville died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at Blytheville.

She was a homemaker and Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Danny Quick; mother, Mary Sarter Farrow of Manila; children, Timmy Quick and Kim Haynes of Blytheville; Jamie Hollingsead of Clermont, Fla.; a brother; two sisters; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harlon William Farrow; and brother, Bobby Farrow.

Services will be Thursday afternoon at 1:30 in Cobb Funeral Home with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be this evening from 6-8 in the funeral home.

Pariss Eugenia Robinson

OSCEOLA — Pariss Eugenia Robinson, 14, of Osceola died Sept. 29, 2008, in a car accident.

She was born Aug. 22, 1994, to Otis Robinson of Madison, Wis., and Pamela Robinson of Osceola. She attended Rivercrest High School.

Other survivors include her sister, Tasja Robinson of Madison; and grandmother, Christine Gaston of Osceola.

Her sister, Paige Davis, was also killed in the accident.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Macedonia Cemetery at Wilson.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 at Wilson’s Osceola Funeral Home.

Gertrude Gravette Strucko

LITTLE ROCK — Gertrude Bossert Gravette Strucko of Little Rock, formerly of Mountain Home, passed away Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at Briarwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born April 3, 1923, to Anna and Richard Bossert of Trumann and graduated as valedictorian of Harrisburg High School in 1940. In Harrisburg she worked for the Neugebauer Dairy, a family business.

After marriage Trudy moved with her husband, William “Bill” Gravette of Harrisburg, to Albuquerque, N.M., where their son, Marshall Richard Gravette, was born. The Gravette family moved back to Poinsett County for a few years and then moved to Lansing, Mich., where Trudy was a personal assistant to the assistant treasurer of Oldsmobile Motor Cars.

Trudy was widowed at age 38 and later married John Strucko of Lansing. They retired to their beloved Arkansas in the early ’80s and built their dream home on Lake Norfork in Mountain Home, where they thrived with their new friends and the joys of lake living.

Trudy was very active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars programs and was instrumental in organizing the VFW Auxiliary in Mountain Home.

In 2000 Trudy and John moved to Little Rock because of health issues, and after John’s death in 2001 Trudy continued her new life in Little Rock, living at Andover Place and Pleasant Hills Retirement Centers, where her life centered on her new friends and on the activities of her family. She loved reading, family gatherings and attending the ballgames of her great-nephews.

Trudy was predeceased by her husbands, Bill and John; as well as her son, Marshall; her parents; and her sisters, Margaret Lunsford, who was of Cherokee Village, and Martha Clark, who was of Lansing.

She is survived by her sister, Nida (Guy) Beaird of Trumann; and her brother, Joe (Dottie) Bossert of Trumann; her nephews, Jerry (Jean) Clark of Lansing and Shane Bossert of Trumann; and her niece, Patricia (Dennis) Hendrix of Little Rock; as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Trudy’s funeral will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Thompson Funeral Home at Trumann. Interment will be in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be this evening from 5-7 in Thompson Funeral Home, 220 Viva Drive, Trumann.

Memorials may be made to Mountain Home United Methodist Church or to the Children’s Department of Asbury United Methodist Church in Little Rock.

Olive Vivian Wright

MAYNARD — Olive Vivian Wright, 93, of Maynard, daughter of John and Bessie Abshier, died Monday, Sept. 29, at Randolph County Nursing Home.

She was born May 7, 1915, in Minorca.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; four sisters; and four brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Lena Williams of Maynard; two grandchildren, Vivian Brengard and Don Williams, both of Maynard; four great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Cox-Waymon Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ingram Cemetery.

Visitation will be this evening from 5-7 in the funeral home.
