Otis Gartrail Guiltner

MONETTE — Otis G. Guiltner, 80, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

He was born June 17, 1928, at Monette to the late Oliver Troy and Ethel Guiltner. He attended Turkey Run and Monette schools and lived his entire life in the Monette and Lake City area.

He had worked as manager of the Lake City and Monette Lumber Company and was a self-employed carpenter for more than 40 years. Mr. Otis served his community as a Scoutmaster and a fireman for several years. He was a member of the Monette Assembly of God and the Monette Masonic Lodge.

He loved his family, grandchildren and to fish, and was a very giving person.

Survivors include his wife, Carletta Guiltner of the home; two daughters, Ann Slessman of Redfield, Mich., and Debbie Hancock of Paragould; three sons, Ed Jenkins of Monette, Dale Jenkins of Jonesboro and Dr. Frank Guiltner of New Blaine; three sisters, Lois Hutcheson and Faye Throgmartin, both of Lake City, and Willie Holbrook of Nevada; 26 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Otis Guiltner Junior; two brothers, Troy Wayne Guiltner and Paul Loyd Guiltner; and two sisters, Alberta Stone and Irene Hutcheson.

A celebration of his life will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in Gregg Funeral Home at Monette with the Rev. Terry Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Monette Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be tonight from 6-8 in Gregg Funeral Home at Monette.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Michael Guiltner, Terry Guiltner, Justin Guiltner, Kevin Guiltner, Jerry Hutcheson, Donny Hutcheson, Harold Hutcheson, Tom Hutcheson and Tim Hutcheson, and as honorary pallbearers, Junior “Red” Palmer, Leroy Smithee and Maurice Holmes.

Tyson Lee Sims

LAKE CITY — Tyson Lee Sims, infant son of Chris and Tiffany Sims, passed away Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

He is survived by his parents; four siblings, Jake Sims, Jade Bishop, Michael Tomas Hall and Gage Sims; paternal grandparents, Barry and Lucy Holden; and maternal grandparents, Ron and Etta Hall, and Dan and Susan Mattix.

Preceding him in death were his grandfather, Henley Sims; and great-grandparents, Lula Gatlin, Ida Sims, John and Pauline Hall, Jim Tom and Mary Lee Lawson.

There will be a private graveside service.

Mary Byers

REYNO — Mary Byers, 88, of Reyno, daughter of Burl and Mildred Lentz, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Five Rivers Hospital in Pocahontas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; one sister; and her stepmother.

She was born Nov. 15, 1919, at Hasting, Neb.

She is survived by four children, Lula Frankant and husband Jerry of Dunbridge, Ohio, Edie Tate and husband Gary of Supply, Don Byers and wife Laura of Fostoria, Ohio, and David Byers and wife Regina of Reyno; four grandsons; two great-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Services will be private under the direction of Cox-Waymon Funeral Home of Pocahontas. There will be no visitation.

Mamie Marie Doty

POCAHONTAS — Mamie Marie Doty, 94, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Randolph County Nursing Home.

She was born May 24, 1914, at Ingram Community to the late Amos B. and Ganie Mock Davis.

Survivors include her son, Doug Cousins of Pocahontas; three grandchildren, Angie Baker, Holly DeClerk and Phillip DeClerk; one great-granddaughter, Lauren Gay; and a sister, Atheline Childs of Mobile, Ala.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Masonic Cemetery with Stan Little and Don Wilson officiating.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday in McNabb Funeral Home Chapel.

Fannie C. Gadberry

IMBODEN — Fannie Catherine Gadberry, 71, of Imboden died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Pocahontas Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

She was born March 31, 1937, at Pocahontas.

Survivors include her children, Beverly Elaine Edrington, Carolyn Russell, Joyce Foster, Jeffery Massey, Joey Crawford and Stephan Gadberry; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Beth Proffi.

Graveside services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Dail Cemetery near Ravenden Springs under the direction of Cox-Waymon Funeral Home of Pocahontas.

Visitation will be this evening from 5-8 at the funeral home.

Garland D. Mobley Jr.

April 28, 1961-Oct. 14, 2008

CAVE CITY — Garland D. Mobley Jr., 47, of Cave City died Tuesday.

Born at Baytown, Texas, he was a commercial contractor and an insurance agent.

Survivors include his wife, Jamie Adams Mobley of the home; son, Edwin Dale Mobley of Ash Flat; parents, Garland Delbert “Dale” Sr. and Nina Jo Andrews Mobley; and sisters, Jackie Hunter and Wendy Johnson, all of Cave City.

Services will be Friday afternoon at 2 in Cave City Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Maxville Cemetery under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Visitation will be tonight from 6-8 in the funeral home.

Mary Barber

HOXIE — Mary Love Barber, 82, of Hoxie passed away Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born March 13, 1926, at Heber Springs, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel Smith Lang. She was a seamstress and member of the Hoxie First Baptist Church.

She was united in marriage on March 28, 1942, to Charley Barber, who preceded her in death March 5, 1978. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Burl Lang.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Barber and wife Wilma of Hoxie, and Jack Barber and wife Jill of Heber Springs; two sisters, Bobbie Manning of Walnut Ridge and Betty Parsley of Little Rock; three granddaughters, Chantelle Purde of Goose Creek, S.C., Sarajane Barber and Charlotte Wekkin, both of Conway; three great-grandsons, Gregg Myers, James Myers and Pierson Wekkin.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Bryan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Carry officiating. Interment will be in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.

Visitation will be this evening from 6-9.

Milton Carter

BLYTHEVILLE — Milton Carter, 56, of Blytheville died Oct. 14, 2008, at Great River Medical Center.

He is survived by a host of family and friends.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Prince of Peace Church at Blytheville with burial in Sandy Ridge Cemetery at Burdette.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 at Wilson’s Blytheville Funeral Home.

Lloyd Crunk

EVENING SHADE — Lloyd Crunk, 74, of Evening Shade died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008.

He was born June 22, 1934, at Conroe, Texas, to Robin Glen and Viola Hayden Crunk and was an Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Bee Crunk of the home; son, Michael Crunk of Richardson, Texas; and sisters, Mildred Hodges and Jerry Mills, both of Conroe, Jean Grafft of Angleton, Texas, and Juan Corley of Huntsville, Texas.

Graveside services will be Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Campground Cemetery under the direction of Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.

Visitation will be this evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.

Teddy Doyle Hardin

PAYNEWAY — Teddy Doyle Hardin, 40, of Payneway died Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at his residence.

He was the youngest of 11 children. He was a hard-working, simple man and good brother. He loved farming, fishing and being with his family.

Survivors include Herma Linda Lopez of the home; brothers, Larry Hardin of Payneway, Darrell Hardin and Ricky Hardin, both of Red Oak, Jimmy Hardin and Danny Hardin, both of Jonesboro, and Michael Hardin of Memphis; and sisters, Joyce Barrett of Caraway, Connie Carlock of Trumann, Donna Friend of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Bonnie Pollard of Lepanto.

Memorial services will be announced by the family.
