Bonnie Lucille Houchin
MARION — Bonnie Lucille Houchin of Marion passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, at the age of 91.
She was retired postmaster of the Fisher post office. She was a member of the Marion Garden and Homemakers Club and member of Fisher United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be today at 2 p.m. with services at 3, all in Fisher United Methodist Church. Interment in Fisher Cemetery
will follow services.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Urban Houchin; and two sons, Donald Houchin and Dale Houchin.
Survivors include daughter, Martha Holt of Marion; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Joan Leonard
JONESBORO — Joan Leonard, 57, of Jonesboro died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
She lived most of her life in the Cash, Egypt and Jonesboro area and was of the Church of Christ belief.
Se was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “R.L.” Leonard; her parents, Roy and Fanny McMahan; and one brother, Charles McMahan.
Joan is survived by her sons, Bobby Leonard, Tim Leonard and wife Juanita, Charlie Turner Leonard, and Matthew Leonard Sr. and wife Sandra; one sister, Kathy Luna and husband Frank, all of Jonesboro; two sisters, Flora Bice of Imboden and Jeanie Larkins of Memphis; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Wayne Herring officiating. Burial will follow in Keller’s Chapel Cemetery
with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers are Matthew Leonard, Tim Leonard, David Smith, J.R. Leonard, Jimmy Leonard and Greg Burr. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Luna, Bobby Leonard and Jerry Langston.
Visitation will be Monday night from 5-7 in Emerson Funeral Home.
Sandra ‘Sandy’ McCain
JONESBORO — Sandra “Sandy” McCain, 71, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Select Specialty Hospital at Memphis.
She had lived in Jonesboro for five years, moving here from Harrisburg.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Brown; one son, Charles McCain; one great-grandson, Hank Williams; and two brothers, Chuck Albers and Jeu Albers.
She is survived by one son, Anthony McCain of Bald Knob; four grandchildren, Carla Lowery, James McCain, Crystal Williams and Benjamin McCain; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery
with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.
Wilma Nutt
JONESBORO — Wilma Nutt, 85, of Jonesboro died Saturday, Jan. 17, at St. Elizabeth’s Place.
She was born at Lorado on Sept. 4, 1923, to George and Lue Whitehead. She was a licensed practical nurse and a member of Lorado Baptist Church.
She is survived by her former spouse, Royce M. Nutt; a son, Wayne Nutt and his wife Sandra of Jonesboro; a daughter, Kathy Cameron and her husband James Eddie of Jonesboro; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Erich Nutt, his wife Jennifer and their children, Evan Nutt and Tyler Robbins, all of Waldorf, Md., Brandon Nutt, his wife Jennifer and their child, Brayden Nutt, all of Jonesboro, and Julie Cameron and her children, Connor and Claire, all of Leander, La.; and special friends, Juanita Wall, Carolyn Leach and the Brickell Family of Caraway.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Lorado Cemetery
with Emmitt McCrackin officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will include Bob Sewell, Chester Richardson, Richard Nutt, Rainey Nutt and Morris Nutt.
Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.
Lucille Reaves
HARRISBURG — Lucille Reaves, 89, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at St. Bernards Medical Center at Jonesboro.
Mrs. Reaves was a lifelong resident of Harrisburg, a member of Farm Hill United Methodist Church and a longtime employee of the Poinsett County Public Library.
Mrs. Reaves was the daughter of the late Wilburn and Fannie Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; brother, Ollie Brown; and sister, Myra Walls.
Survivors include daughters, Linda (Gene) Grant of Brookland and Glenda Wallace of Ridgeland, Miss.; sons, Donald (Donna) Reaves of Little Rock and Ronald (Janis) Reaves of Rainbow City, Ala.; grandsons, Jordan Grant, Shannon Grant, Morgan Reaves, Mason Reaves and Jamie Cook; granddaughters, Megan Reaves, Mariel Reaves and Tara (Shawn) Freyaldenhoven; one great-grandchild; and sisters, Dorothy Goodman of Harrisburg and Bernice Stafford of Memphis.
Graveside funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Farm Hill Cemetery
under the direction of Weston Funeral Service of Harrisburg. Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday from 10 a.m.-noon.
Memorials may be made to Farm Hill United Methodist Church or the Poinsett County Library.
Lillian Smith
JONESBORO — Lillian Smith, 86, of Jonesboro died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009.
She had lived in Jonesboro most of her life and was of the Baptist belief.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Nona Bowman; husband, Lynn Smith; three children, Gary Smith, Doug Smith and Kenny Smith; and two sisters, Imogene and Louise.
Lillian was a beautiful, pleasant-natured and unselfish lady in the truest sense of the word. Her life was devoted to caring for her family. She was loved and respected by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Thedore Smith of the home; four grandchildren, Sherri Black, Todd Smith, Baline Smith and Ken Smith II; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery
with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. There will be no public visitation.

NEWPORT — Neal Williams, 89, of Newport died Friday, Jan. 16.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena; brother, J.L. Williams; and sister, Hazel Massey.
He is survived by one son, Randall “Randy” Williams and wife Peggy of Newport; sister, Lillian Sandifer of Hollendale, Miss.; and three grandchildren, Margaret Harmon and husband Grady of Huntsville, Ala., Elizabeth Williams of Roanoke, Va., and Catherine Williams of Newport.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. until service time.

TRUMANN — Trumann Police Chief Larry Blagg died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital.

James E. Hensley
LEPANTO — James Edward Hensley, 77, of Lepanto died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital at Jonesboro.
He was born May 2, 1931, at Cord to the late Samuel Milton and Dora Lee Milton. He was a truck driver and Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his daughter, Peggy Heflin of Covington, Tenn.; sons, Donnie Hensley of Osceola and James Hensley of Little Rock; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Potter Cemetery
at Lepanto with Jim Roller officiating and Wilson’s Tyronza Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Kefton Jr. Jarrett
March 8, 1927-Jan. 28, 2009
BATESVILLE — Kefton Jr. Jarrett, 81, died Wednesday at Batesville.
He was born at Hickory Flatt, Miss., to the late Kefton and Evie Jarrett. Kefton served in the United States Army, retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co., where he worked for 35 years, and was a member of the Jubilee Family Church at Batesville.
He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Fay Jarrett of Batesville; two sons, Keith Alan Jarrett of Marianna, Fla., and Joshua Craig Jarrett of Batesville; four daughters, Patti Suzanne Niebuhr of Washington, Ill., Tonya Renee Brown of Harrisburg, Katina Jannel Erwin of Batesville and Linda K. Thornton of Davenport, Iowa; one brother, Ocie Lee Jarrett of Rochelle, Ill.; two sisters, Ruthie Lou Roberts of Harrisburg and Lillian Niles of Phoenix; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Dannie Lynn Jarrett and Craig Leon Griffin, and two sisters, Marylou Conly and Marie Hester.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Friday in the Jubilee Family Church at Batesville.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in Kefton’s name to the Jubilee Family Church or the White River Medical Center.

Lewis R. O’Neal
JONESBORO — Dr. Lewis R. O’Neal, 75, of Jonesboro died Tuesday evening at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was a retired pedontist.
