Terry Davis

HARRISBURG — Terry Davis, 54, of Harrisburg departed this life Monday, May 3, 2010, at Bartlett, Tenn.

Terry was born Aug. 29, 1955, at Trumann to Harold and Mary Evelyn Davis.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Glenda Fay Moon.

Survivors include his son, T.L. Davis of Paragould; daughter, Angela Dicus of Jonesboro; brothers, Kenneth Davis of Bartlett and Darryl Davis of Harrisburg; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Jackson’s Harrisburg Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Bethel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight.

James Marvin Hobbs

MAMMOTH SPRING — James Marvin “Buddy” Hobbs, 53, of Mammoth Spring died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at West Plains, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Hobbs and Ruby Musselwhite Hobbs.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda DeMastes Hobbs; children, Howard Gipson, Wess Gipson, James Marvin Jr. Hobbs and Monica Faye Hobbs; siblings, Donald M. Hobbs, Bettie Fultz, Janice Haglund, Sharon Dorris, Marilyn Yarbrough, Jennie Brown and Hazel Musick Frey; and grandchildren, Mattie Gipson, Dallas Ryan Ervin and Katie Gipson.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday with service following at 7 p.m. in Tri-County Funeral Home at Highland.

Carol Dean Ladd

BONNER SPRINGS, Kan. — Carol Dean Ladd, 50, of Bonner Springs, Kan., passed away April 26, 2010.

Graveside services will be at noon May 15 in Nettleton Cemetery.

Carol was born April 2, 1960.

Preceding Carol in death were her father, Carl Dean Ladd, and grandparents, Hershel and Sarah Ladd, John and Thelma Haynes.

Survivors include her daughter, Rachell Stierly, and Rachell’s father, Don Stierly of Basehor, Kan.; her mother, Nadine Turner of Bonner Springs; and sisters, Penny (Jack) Shumaker of Leavenworth, Kan., Carla Owens of Shawnee, Kan., Paula (Ralph) Ruby of Jonesboro and Amanda Mies of Shawnee.

Carol was a favorite aunt and will be missed by Wendy, Michael, Jessica, Chase O, Jon Michael, John Raymond, Chase M, Jordan, Eli, Sofia Ruth, Slater, Charlee and Justin.

Vonda Mae Noel

PARAGOULD — Vonda Mae Noel, 78, of Paragould died Tuesday, May 4.

Mrs. Noel retired from Emerson Electric and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Risa (Bill) Winn of Paragould; brothers, Garland Robinson of Walcott and Roy Robinson of Kingman, Ariz.; sister, Joy Huckabee of Paragould; grandchildren, Chad Winn and Shonda Gonzalez; and great-grandchildren, Elaina and Isabella Gonzalez.

Visitation will be from 6-9 tonight at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in New Liberty Cemetery with Kenny Johnson officiating.

Thomas Satterfield

BEEDEVILLE — Thomas Satterfield, 55, of Beedeville died Tuesday, May 4.

He was of the Baptist belief.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Franklin Satterfield and Dorothy Dixson Brand.

He is survived by his stepfather, Larry Brand; brothers, Wesley Satterfield of Beedeville and Larry Satterfield of North Carolina; sisters, June LaChance and Norma Swaller, both of Beedeville; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Eight Mile Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight in Dillinger Funeral Home of Newport.

Jimmy Smart Jr.

MANILA — Jimmy Smart Jr., 29, of Manila died on Sunday, May 2, 2010.

Mr. Smart was born on Dec. 2, 1980, to Jimmy Ray Smart Sr. and Norma Dean Petty Smart in Paragould. Mr. Smart enjoyed drawing, writing poetry and fishing.

Survivors include his parents, Jimmy Ray Smart Sr. of Pine Bluff and Norma Smart of Manila; one sister, Jennifer Swofford and husband Dewayne of Manila; one grandmother, Mary Lour Smart of Paragould; a special Granny Maggie; and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Smart was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Homer Gene Smart and Elmo Petty, and one grandmother, Lou Erma Petty.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Macey Cemetery at Monette with the Rev. Charles Freyder officiating.

The family will receive visitors at 11 a.m. Saturday in Faith Funeral Service of Manila.

William ‘Bill’ Warren

JONESBORO — William “Bill” Warren, 65, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at his residence.

He was born at Marked Tree on Dec. 18, 1944, to Roy and Bessie Jones Warren. Mr. Warren was a retired team leader for Hytrol. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Jonesboro and of New Haven Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Loyd Warren of the home; two daughters, Christina “Kryssi” Armstrong of Jonesboro and Katrina “Kit” Morris and husband Lucas of Dumas; six grandchildren, Madelyn, Destiny, Sydni, Kinley, Lacee and Jack William; and two brothers, Joe David Warren and wife Melba, and Winford Warren and wife Cora, all of Jonesboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Rutherford Cemetery with Carl Hollis officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society, care of Faye Bolton, P.O. Box 9192, Jonesboro 72403.

Irene Witcher

WYNNE — Irene Witcher, 87, of Wynne passed away Monday, May 3.

She was born Dec. 6, 1922, to Ivy and Alma Eldridge Wizer.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands, Bill Lawrence and Charles Witcher; two brothers, two sisters, one stepdaughter and one great-grandson.

Survivors include her son, Eugene Lawrence; daughters, Brenda Fallace and Linda Baugh; stepsons, Kenneth and Phillip Witcher; stepdaughter, Betty; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Harris Chapel Cemetery with visitation from 1-2 p.m. before services at Thompson-Wilson Wynne Funeral Home.

Ruby Crain Denton Folk

WILSON — Ruby Crain Denton Folk died Friday, May 21, 2010, at her home.

She was born Dec. 7, 1919, at Wilson and had lived there all her life. She was the daughter of the late Ruby Enochs and James Henry Crain. She had two brothers, John Enochs Crain and James Henry Crain Jr., both deceased.

Ruby Folk graduated from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree. She was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She was married to William Joe Denton during World War II until his death in 1964. She later married Humphrey Estes Folk, who died in 1993.

She leaves her three children, Sally Denton Saig and husband Edward, Catherine Denton Palmer and husband Gilbert, and William Joe Denton Jr. and wife Lynn. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Catherine Palmer Dean, William Denton Palmer, Leslie Saig Fields, Laura Saig Martin and husband Hank, James Edward Saig, William Joe Denton III and wife Stacie, and Virginia Tayloe Denton. She also leaves seven great-grandchildren.

Ruby Folk was a lifetime member of Wilson United Methodist Church, where she served on numerous boards and committees, played the organ for many years and was a very dedicated member of the congregation.

She served as president of Crain Co., a family farming operation. She was a member of the Memphis Country Club and Wilson Cooperative Club.

Funeral services will be held at Wilson United Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Sunday with the Revs. Dr. Gary Yarbrough and Donald Lewertt officiating. Burial will follow the service in Bassett Cemetery with Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola in charge of arrangements.

The family requests that any memorials be sent to Wilson United Methodist Church, 20 Jackson St., Wilson 72395, or the charity of the donor’s choice.

James Derl Jones

MAYNARD — James Derl Jones, 72, of Maynard died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at John J. Pershing Veterans Administration Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

James was born to Clarence and Addie Ainley Jones on July 10, 1937, at Maynard.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cox Funeral Home in Pocahontas with Bill Byrd officiating. Burial will be in Ingram Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Mary Jones of the home; seven stepchildren; 25 stepgrandchildren; and 27 stepgreat-grandchildren.
