Robert May, 72, of Cabot died Friday, Oct.17.

Harold L. Edwards
Harold L. Edwards, 72, of Beebe, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Edwards; four sons, David, Mark, Michael and Stephen Edwards; one daughter, Carolyn Harris; fifteen grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; and one brother, James Edwards.
Visitation was Tuesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral service was Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Westbrook Chapel, with burial at Stoney Point Cemetery.
Larry Sydney Elliott
Larry Sydney “Lil’ Haticall” Elliott, 54, of Humphrey died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003.
He was owner of Larry’s Auto Sales and had worked at Riceland Foods Inc. as a rice grader for 13 years. He was a Baptist.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Jo Baker Elliott; his son, Robby Elliott; his daughter, Robin Elliott Golleher; 4 grandchildren; three brothers, Starlin Elliott and Steve Elliott, both of Stuttgart, and Jimmy Elliott of Carlisle; two step-brothers, Don Warner of Stuttgart and David Warner of Clarendon; and three sisters, Joyce Larkin of Hazen, Betty Nick of Greenbrier; and Emmagean Crosset of Port Arthur, Texas
Funeral services were Wednesday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with burial in Frazier Cemetery.

Larry Dean Clark, 61, died Saturday, Oct. 18.
Survivors: wife, Sharon Clark; sons, Larry and Jonathan Clark; daughter, Crystal Clark, all of Lonoke; mother, Thelma Clark; sister, Betty Kirsch both of Sherwood; brothers, Don Clark, Clarksville, Jerry Clark, Redfield, Tony Clark, McCrory.

Mardell T. Harris
Mardell T. Huff Harris, 76, of Monticello died Oct. 19, 2003.
She was a retired owner of a day care and nursery and a member of Second Baptist Church of Monticello.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Harris of Monticello and Homer Wayne Harris Sr. of Star City; three daughters, Jane Allen of North Little Rock, Pat Grant of Warren and Eleanor Gibbons of Little Rock; and a half-brother, Mark Huff of Jonesboro; four sisters, Addie Schrader of Ward, Martha Davis of Pine Bluff, Betty Rodgers of St. Charles, Mo., and Joan Treece of Mesquite, Texas; 18 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was Wednesday, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home Chapel, Monticello. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Rudy Bouwknegt
Rudy Bouwknegt, 68, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was in law enforcement for 23 years. He retired in 1994 from the Jacksonville Police Department a Detective Sergeant after 17 years of service. He received numerous awards and commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal.
Survivors include his wife Carlean; sons, Rodney Bouwknegt of Ward, Ronnie Brown of Jacksonville, Lee Moore of Ward and Steven Bouwknegt of Jacksonville; daughters, Adeline Buettner and Kathleen Hauser, both of Florida, Connie Trent of Alabama, Tamela Vanover of Jacksonville and Patricia Bouwknegt of Vilonia; brothers, Willard and Frederick Bouwknegt of Michigan; sisters, Mynda Ridley of Florida and Sally Lambert of Michigan; 25 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Oct. 20, at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home followed by entombment in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
Joan S. Shackleford
Joan Swicegood Shackleford, 87, of Bee Branch, widow of Henry Wilson Shackleford, died Oct. 15, 2003.
She was born in Lonoke.
She is survived by her only child, William Wayne Shackleford of Bee Branch; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; a brother, John Swicegood of North Little Rock; and three sisters, Margaret Swicegood Douglass of Little Rock, Anna Swicegood Sniff of North Little Rock, and Virginia Swicegood Purifoy of Little Rock.
Graveside service was Oct. 20, at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth was in charge.

Billy E. Austin
Billy E. Austin died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, in Beebe. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Floyd.
He is survived by his wife Agnes Austin of Beebe; two daughters, Patsy Plaisance of Golden Valley, Ariz., and Joan Dove of Little Rock; one son, Don Austin of Monett, Mo.; three brothers, Carroll Austin of Ward, Tommy Austin of McRae and Johnny Austin of Searcy; one sister, Brenda Weeks of Ward; stepsons James Underwood of McRae, Bill Underwood of Houma, La., Roger Underwood of Las Vegas, NM, Karen Mills of Antioch, Brenda Wood of Floyd, Teresa Alman of Aurora, Colo., Jan Landrum of Biloxi, Miss., and Sheila Fain of Clark Hill, SC; 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Friday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral was Saturday, Oct. 25, at Westbrook Chapel, with burial in Weir Cemetery, McRae.
Gerald D. Hammett
The Reverend Gerald Dewey Hammett of Beebe, 81, retired minister of the United Methodist Church, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003. Gerald, a 1951 graduate of Hendrix College, served on the college board of trustees from 1980 to 1986. In 1954, he received a Master of Sacred Theology from Perkins School of Theology at SMU.
He served 40 years in pastoral ministry in the North Arkansas Conference, including Superintendent of the Batesville District. He was also a member of the Rogers Commandery, the Beebe Masonic Lodge, and he served in the Navy during World War II. In later years, Gerald served as pastor at First United Methodist Church in McRae until his full retirement in 2000.
Survivers include his wife of 56 years, Norma Jean West Hammett; his daughter, Rev. Kaye Hammett Evans of Conway; and three grandchildren, Rev. Hammett N. Evans of Bryant, Brice Evans of West Memphis, and Eleanor Evans of Franklinton, La.
Visitation was Thursday. Funeral was Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at First United Methodist Church, Beebe, with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Lloyd Dwight Jones
Lloyd Dwight Jones, age 64, of Cabot, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served two years in the U.S. Marines and 21 years in the U.S. Air Force retiring as Major. He was a graduate of Adams State College at Alamosa, Colo.. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jones; two sons, Lee R. Jones of Conway and Dustin A. Jones of Cabot; one sister, Maida Moore of Duncan, Okla.; two granddaughters and one grandson.
Visitation was Thursday at The Bible Church of Cabot. Funeral was Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at The Bible Church of Cabot with burial in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock, by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Linda Jo Richison
Linda Jo Richison, age 61, of Beebe, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003. She was a draftsman for Crown Metal Building.
Surviving are her husband, Charley Richison; two sons, Charles Richison and wife, Tabitha, of Rogers; Rick Watson and wife, Janice, of El Paso; one daughter, Tonia Weatherford of Maumelle; two stepsons, Kenneth Richison of Kentucky and Joseph Richison of Virginia; three stepdaughters, Susan Richison of Fort Smith, Jill Harrison and Sara Hurley, both of Charleston; one brother, Phil Stroud of Beebe; one sister, Sandra Ashcraft of High Point, NC; 17 grandchildren.
Visitation was Friday.
Funeral was Saturday, Oct. 25, at Westbrook Chapel, with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Floyd, by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
Alice J. W. M. Swindle
Alice Jewell Walker Manion Swindle, 83, a long-time resident of Beebe and former cafeteria director at ASU-Beebe died Oct. 24, 2003. She graduated from Ward High School and attended ASU-Beebe.
She is survived by three sons; Jerry Manion of Conway, Dickie Manion of Little Rock and John Manion of Magnolia and two step-daughters; Pat White and Melba Weatherly of Beebe; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grand-children, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Sunday, Oct. 26, at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe. The funeral was Monday, Oct. 27, at Westbrook Chapel, with burial in Stoney Point Cemetery.
Roxie Mize
Roxie Collins Bibbs Mize, 91, of Cabot died Sunday, October 26, 2003. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Cabot. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Walter Bibbs and John Mize; a son, Marvin Bibbs and a granddaughter, Amanda Bibbs. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Walter Lee and Jerri Bibbs of Ozark, MO, Clarence and Joann Bibbs of Maumelle, Fred and Linda Bibbs of Hot Springs, and Harold and Donna Bibbs of Cabot; two daughters and one son-in-law, Audrey Bandy of Leachville and Bonnie and Jack Cash of Cabot; nineteen grandchildren, over thirty great-grandchildren and several great-great- grandchildren; five brothers and three sisters.
Visitation was Tuesday, Oct. 28 from 5-8 pm at Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral Services was Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 1:00p.m. at First Baptist Church, Cabot with Brother Harold O’Bryan officiating. Interment was at Shady Grove Cemetery, Bald Knob. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
Lois G. Waymire
Lois G. Waymire, 90, of Beebe, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003.
She is survived by her two sisters, Floy Mae McClure and Fay Stringer, and her four children, Floyd Jerrel Waymire of Sherwood, Robin Shrader and Harold W. Waymire of Houston, Texas, and Nancy Finney of Little Rock. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, with burial at Stoney Point Cemetery.
