Presley N. Gibson, 84, of Little Rock, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003.
He is survived by his brother, Fred Gibson of Little Rock.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, Sept. 10, in Pine Grove Cemetery
in the Sweet Home Community. Arrangements by Roller-Drummond Southwest.

Ray A. Wilson
Ray A. Wilson, age 87, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2003.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Cooper of Victorville, Calif., Brenda Babcock of Long Beach, Calif., Diane Martin of Canyon Lake, Calif., Thelma Pratt and Shirley Youngblood both of North Little Rock; sons, Buford Wilson of North Little Rock and Claude Wilson of Beebe; sister, Jewel Burton of Long Beach, Calif.; brothers, Jim Wilson of Jacksonville and Jimmy Smith of Lonoke; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two greatgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Life Tabernacle Church in Jacksonville followed by interment in Arkansas Memorial Gardens. Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home was in charge.
Eden Lanae Jones
Infant Eden Lanae Jones, of Lonoke, died Sept. 7, 2003.
She is survived by her mother, Nikeisha Shepherd; father, Charles Jones; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Dewayne Nichols, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Shepherd; great-grandparents, Mrs. Willie Mae Terry, Mr. & Mrs. Smith Daniels.
Graveside service was Sept. 10, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lonoke. Services entrusted to Premier Funeral Home of Little Rock.
Carl Andrew Vent
Carl Andrew Vent died Sept. 1, 2003, at the age of 73.
He was born in Carlisle, and served in the United States Air Force until his retirement in 1970 after more than 20 years of distinguished service.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Angela Henson Vent; four brothers, J.J. Vent of Pine Bluff, Robert Vent of Memphis, Tenn., Paul Vent of Carlisle and Lee Vent of Forrest City; one sister, Cindy Vent Bowlan of Carlisle.
Funeral was Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Hamilton Baptist Church, south of Carlisle, followed by interment in Hamilton Cemetery. Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home was in charge.

Birdie Inez Pearson, 82, of Jacksonville died Sept. 5, 2003.

Iva Lucille Williams, 72, of Mountain View died Wednesday.
Survivors include her sons, Ron Williams of Mountain View, and Steve Williams of Marshfield, Mo.; one brother; two sisters; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Birdie Pearson
Birdie Pearson, 82, of Jacksonville died Sept. 5, 2003.
She is survived by one sister, Marie Garrett of Jacksonville.
“Aunt Birdie” was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Cabot.
A funeral service was held Sept. 8, at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Cabot. Arrangements were by Cabot Funeral Home.

Florence M. Rettig
Florence Marie Rettig, age 88 died Dec. 26, 2003. She was a member of Brownsville Baptist Church, Lonoke, a long time member of Concord Senior Citizens at Furlow, a former employee of Hales’ Men Store in Carlisle and a homemaker. Survivors include her son, Robert (Bob) Williams Karla of Lonoke, daughter-in-law Pam Williams, six grandchildren; sister, Mildred Northcutt of Carlisle, three step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were Sunday at Brownsville Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Andy Kerr and Rev. Willie Gold. Burial followed in Carlisle Cemetery
with arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke. Memorials may be made to Brownsville Baptist Church.

William O. Merriman, 75, of Ward died Dec. 22, 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 step-son and 1 step-daughter. He is survived by his wife, Martha Sue Merriman and granddaughter, Shaela Dawn Mankey of the home; daughter, Becky (and Joe) Dorsey of NLR; 2 step-daughters, Joyce (and Buddy) Tate of LR and Teena (and Larry) Freeman of Cabot; step-son, Bryan Smith of Cabot; sister, Polly Marino of MA; brother, Richard Lee Merriman of CA; 9 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Catherine L. Tinkler
Catherine L. Tinkler, of Ward, died Dec. 27, 2003.
She was a retired employee of Price Cutter Foods in Cabot, a member and past officer of the Ladies Auxiliary to Fred A. Harrell VFW Post 7769 in Beebe. She is survived by her husband LeRoy Tinkler, Sr., two sons, LeRoy Tinkler, Jr. of Bryant, Laurence E. Tinkler of Memphis; two daughters, Tina L. Daniel of White Hall and Rachel Terry of Jonesboro. She is also survived by her father, Abraham Wunsh; four sisters and three brothers; eight grandchildren. Funeral service was 10 a.m. Wednesday at Westbrook Chapel, with burial in Butlerville Cemetery. The family requests memorials be made to the Ladies Auxiliary to VFW, 1405 East Center, Beebe, AR 72012.
Kenneth D. Roberts
Kenneth Dwan Roberts, age 77, of Cabot, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003. He was a retired painter, a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of Living Waters Church in Cabot.
Surviving are two daughters, Dana Herring of Tulsa and Gigi Gilkerson of Cabot; one brother, Carl Sneed of Tulsa; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
There was no visitation.
Graveside service was10:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, with burial in Hicks Cemetery
