Frederick Paradise

Frederick Paradise, 53, of Hazen, died March 26, 2003.
Funeral service was April 5, at St. Paul Baptist Church, Lonoke. With burial at Arkansas State Veteran Cemetery, North Little Rock. Services entrusted to Premier Funeral Home.

Lewis Earl Elmore Sr.

Lewis Earl Elmore Sr., age 86, of Mayflower, a former resident of Lonoke, died April 2, 2003.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mayflower.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Chloe Elmore; one son, Lewis Jr. Elmore of Paola, Kan.; four daughters, Susan Pate of North Little Rock, Terry Dycus of Mayflower, Robin Johnson of Roland and Penny Landreth of Benton; 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral service was Saturday at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Thomas Franklin Jones

Thomas Franklin Jones, age 81, of Perryville died April 3, 2003.
He served Perry County residents as their County and Circuit clerk from January 1953 to February 1956 and from 1967 to 1970 and 1973 to 1980. He is a former Elder of Perryville Church of Christ, and former owner of Perryville Abstract and Stanley’s Hardware Store. He also was a former insurance salesman, worked for the Perry County Revenue Office, and a member of the CCC Camp in Hollis near Hot Springs. He served on the Selective Service Local Board #53, was a member of the Perryville Masonic Lodge, a former employee of five years for Arkansas Kraft, and he was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran where he served as second lieutenant.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Padgett Jones of Perryville; daughter, Tommie Lou Wingfield of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Ruby Jones Morgan of Perryville and Myrtle Jones Kitchen of Cabot; brother, Donald Ray Jones of Jackson, Miss.; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were April 7 at Perryville Church of Christ. Burial was at Hope Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville.

Harriet S. Alexander

Harriet Semmes Alexander, 53, of Memphis died March 31, 2003.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Alexander Bryant of Austin.
Funeral was April 3 at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville, with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Bessie Mae Aldridge

Bessie Mae Aldridge died April 14, 2003.
She was a member of Union Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Coy.

Survivors include sons Kenneth, Bill of Austin, Ruby of England; daughter Oma Nichols of Coy; one special “adopted” daughter, Hazel Barnes; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren ; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Wednesday at Union Valley Baptist Church, Coy, with Wilson Funeral Home, England, in charge. Interment, Union Valley Cemetery.

Glenn Michael Sealy

Glenn Michael “Mike” Sealy, 52, of Little Rock, formerly of Beaumont, Texas, died April 5, 2003.

For the past 30 years, he worked for Entergy (formerly Gulf States Utilities) in the Human Resources Department, most recently as manager of Human Resources for Entergy Arkansas. He coached teams within Spindletop Youth Soccer Association, Amelia Little League and the YMCA. He was also a Sunday School teacher and summer camp counselor at Calvary Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas.

He is survied by his wife of 31 years, Sharon; two sons, Jared and Shane, both of Austin; his mother, Evelyne, and stepfather, Jim Demland, of Clute; a brother, Randy Sealy, of Houston; a sister, Melody Rader of Victoria; sister, Kristle Kersten of Jones Creek; stepbrother, Michael Demland of Lake Jackson; stepbrother, Donnie Demland of Lake Jackson; stepsister, Debbie Bartek of Lake Jackson.

Funeral services were April 9, at Calvary Baptist Church in Beaumont. Burial was at Restwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Lake Jackson.

Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Music Ministry of Beaumont, or the Hospice Care Team of Lake Jackson.

Henry Wayland

Henry Wayland, 92, of Paragould, died Sunday.

Survivors include children, Wanda Messer and Bill Wayland of Paragould, Carol Beeler of Lonoke and Larry Wayland of Bryant; five sisters, Helen Dixon, Corine Wayland, Willie Massey, Norene Tucker and Emma Nell Denman; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Wednesday, at the Heath Colonial Chapel with interment in Brown’s Chapel Cemetery.

Florence Brissenden

Florence Brissenden, 91, of Cabot died April 6, 2003.
She is survived by three daughters, Gloria Fielder, Barbara Nichols and Debbie Hayes; one sister, Alice Paulsen; four grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren.

She was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Decatur, Ill.
Funeral services and interment were in Decatur, Ill., at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home and Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.

Marion Newman

Marion Jaquline “Jackie’’ Newman, 63, died Sunday.

Survivors: husband, Hubert Newman; sons, Tony and Herbie Newman; daughter, Connie Johnson, all of Heber Springs; brother, Jimmy Pawlowski of Lonoke; and four grandchildren.

Memorial service was Wednesday, Chastain Chapel, Tumbling Shoals. Arrangements: Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.

Ira E. Jamison

Ira E. Jamison, age 65, of Sheridan died April 6, 2003.
A Navy veteran, he was of the Baptist faith and was a self-employed electrical engineer.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara C. Jamison; son, Eugene Jamison of Benton; and five grandchildren.

A graveside service was Thursday, April 10, at Forest Hills Cemetery with arrangements by Griffin Leggett Forest Hills.

Robert Howard Sr.

Robert Howard Sr., 62, died April 11, 2003.

He is survived by his mother, Elma Howard of England; one son, Robert Howard Jr. of Lonoke; four sisters, Janice Cloird, Dorothy Rhodes, both of Oakland, Calif., Erma Davis of North Little Rock, and Hattie Wesley of Tucker; three brothers, Henry Howard of England, Lorenzo Howard and Scid Howard Jr. of Oakland, Calif.
Services entrusted to Robinson Mortuary, North Little Rock.

James Albert Pack

James Albert Pack, 53, of Lonoke, passed away Monday, April 14, 2003.

He is survived by his wife, Regina; and a son, Blake, both of Lonoke; a sister, Bethany Stipsky of Little Rock; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Darlene Moore of Bauxite, and Doc and Lisa Elliott and children, Tyler and Rilee of Lonoke.

Funeral services were Wednesday, April 16, at the Lonoke Apostolic Church, with interment in Lonoke Cemetery by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes. Association, 212 Natural Resources Dr., Little Rock, Ark. 72205.

James M. Wallace Jr.

James Morton “Tooter” Wallace Jr., 79, of Lonoke died April 13, 2003.

He served in the Civilian Conservation Corp, and joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served in World War II. He received the Lonoke County Farm Family of the Year in 1998. He was a former member of the VFW at Stuttgart and attended the Coy Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Jo Wallace of Lonoke; sons, James M. Wallace III of England and Ronald Cary Wallace of Lonoke; daughters, Linda Marlow of Jacksonville, and Susi Timmons of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Lee Wallace of Little Rock; a sister, Joyce Bunch of Little Rock; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Wednesday at Roller-England Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Mulberry Cemetery, England.

Memorials may be made to individual’s choice.
