Lera Wilburn Miller, 94, of Carlisle died Monday, April 14, 2003.
She is survived by her sister, Ima Sprouce of Port Arthur, Texas; two daughters, Gloria Garrich and Frances Smith of Carlisle; three grandsons; one granddaughter; nine greatgrandchildren; and two greatgreat-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Carlisle, or the Carlisle Cemetery.
A graveside service was held Wednesday at Carlisle Cemetery. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home.
Jim Porter John
Jim Porter John, 61, of Fort Worth, Texas, died April 12, 2003.
He played football for the Arkansas Razorbacks and was awarded the C.G. “Crip” Hall Award. Following graduation he served in the United States Army attaining the rank of Major. He served two tours in Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, Janet John of Fort Worth, Texas; son, David John of Little Rock; daughter, Jennifer John Murphy of Plano, Texas; sisters, Joan John Stephens of Dickinson, Texas, Margaret John Osborne of Clarksville, Tenn.; stepbrother, Tommy Hillman of Carlisle; stepsisters, Charlene Lee, Sandy Caveneau of Little Rock, and Dixie Harrison of Greers Ferry; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday at Shannon’s Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas, followed by a burial service Saturday in Stuttgart, at Lone Tree Cemetery.
Grapelle S. Stevens
Grapelle Smith Stevens, 82, of North Little Rock died Friday, April 18, 2003.
She was a retired school principal and teacher in Harrison and North Little Rock. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock and Delta Kappa Gamma Society.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Flowers of Cabot; brother, Bill Smith of Millington, Tenn.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock.
Funeral services were Tuesday at the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
Dorothy M. Kirkland
Dorothy Marie Kirkland, 87, of Austin died April 18, 2003.
She is survived by six daughters, Wanda Griffith of Conway, Margarette Yeary of Weir, Texas, Linda Cline of Wasilla, Alaska, Iva Buchhorn of Boerne, Texas, Rose Marie Pate of Beebe, Janice Combs of Searcy; one son, Ralph Kirkland of Austin; 19 grandchildren; 27 greatgrandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were April 21, at Union Valley Baptist Church. Interment was in Dunkard Brethren Cemetery
in Austin. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.
Ruth Darnell
Ruth Darnell, 71, of Cabot died Thursday.
Survivors: two sons, two daughters, one sister, 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
Services were April 21, 2003, at McEuen Chapel. Arrangements were by McEuen Funeral Home of Searcy.
Michelle C. Wyatt
Michelle Christine Wyatt, 24, of Cabot died Thursday, April 17, 2003.
She is survived by her parents, William and Catherine Wyatt, and sister, Sharon Wyatt, all of Cabot; two brothers, Michael Wyatt of Beebe, Casey Wyatt of Cabot; grandparents, Marjorie Rowland of Sherwood and Lawrence and Frances Sims of Mountain View.

Raymond M. Junior
Raymond Monroe Junior, 72, of Humnoke, died April 17, 2003.
He is survived by four daughters, Helen Noble, Alice Jarrett, Rosie Junior, Geanice Kirk Lane; five sons, Dave Junior, James Junior, Earmon Junior, William Junior, and Joe Davis; 24 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were April 26, at Gunn Funeral Home Chapel.
Millard Bain Jr.
Millard Benjamin “Toby” Bain Jr., 59, of Cabot died April 15, 2003.
He is survived by one son, Joe Don Bain of Cabot; one daughter, Jodi Hagar of Seminole, Texas; three brothers, Tommy Bain of Bradford, Jimmy Bain of Hughes, and Clay Bain of Altoona, Pa.; four sisters, Wilma Sorrells of Rose Sharon, Texas, Rosemary Kurkendall of Fort Smith, Louise Lowery of Southaven, Miss., and Velma Haggen of Anderson, S.C.; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were April 18, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.
David S. Weatherley
David S. Weatherley, 62, died Thursday.
He was a painter at Maytag in Searcy and a former U. S. Army Reservist.
Survived by his wife, Retha Dickson Weatherley; daughter Jannett Williams of Kensett; brother, Windle Bullock of Des Arc; sisters, Jewell Duke and Norene Dickerson of Searcy, Linda Lievsay of Dardanelle and Penny Bass of Lonoke; and a granddaughter.
Funeral services were Saturday at the McEuen Funeral Home Chapel with interment in White County Memorial Gardens.

Dorothy Marie Dale, age 77, of Granbury, Texas, formerly of Prescott, died Saturday, April 12, 2003.
She was a member of Tolar Church of Christ in Tolar, Texas.
Survivors include: two sons, James Dale, Tolar, Texas; Michael Dale, Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter, Judy Davis, Tolar, Texas; two brothers, Jerry Jones, Cabot, Johnny Jones, Prescott; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were April 18, at Shackelford Funeral Chapel with interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery

Henry Wayland
Henry Wayland, 92, of Paragould died April 6, 2003.
He was a retired farmer, and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons, Bill William C. Wayland of Paragould and Larry Wayland of Bryant; daughters, Carol Beeler of Lonoke and Wanda Messer of Paragould; sisters, Emma Nell Denneman of Coffeeville, Kan., Helen Dixon of St. Louis, Mo., Willie Massey of Prescott, Ariz., Norene Tucker of Yuccipa, Calif. and Corine Wayland of St. Louis, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m., April 10, at Heath Colonial Chapel, Paragould, with burial in Brown’s Chapel Cemetery.
