Marzetter Thomas “Ma Dear,” age 90, of Lonoke, died May 7, 2003.

Survived by two daughters, Mae Frances Saunders, Aristene Wilbur; two sons, Sam (Bo) Thomas and Benjamin Thomas; one sister, Calina Lewis, all of Little Rock; one brother, Curlee Hines of St. Louis, Mo.

Funeral services were Tuesday at Hubble Funeral Home Chapel.

Patricia Ann Patterson

Patricia Ann (Lloyd) Patterson, 60, of North Little Rock died Tuesday, May 6, 2003.

She was a retired State of Arkansas employee with 32 years of service, attended Levy Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph C. Patterson; daughter, Joanna Marie Patterson of Bryant; son, Joseph C. Patterson II of Orlando, Florida; mother, Margaret J. Carlisle of Cabot; brother, Larry H. Lloyd of Cabot; and two granddaughters.

Memorials may be made to the Diabetic Program at U.A.M.S. Hospital, 4301 West Markham #716, Little Rock, Ark. 72205.

Funeral services were Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Mayflower Cemetery.

Audrey F. M. Brant

Audrey Faye Milner Brant, 64, of North Little Rock died Monday, May 5, 2003.

She was the widow of Hersell Brant and a Girl Scout leader for over 20 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Brant, of Little Rock and Terri Sanders of North Little Rock; two step-sons, Robert Brant of Sherwood and Richard Brant of Lake Norrell; six grandchildren; two brothers, James Milner of Cabot and Gary Milner of Missouri; 13 sisters, Louise Milos of DeValls Bluff, Irene Ballard, Margie Davie and Evelyn Mayfield, all of Cabot, Dorothy Smith of Quitman, Edlene Laird of Idaho, Martha Mojica, Shirley Bryson, Doris Johnson and Ellen Nuehring all of Texas, Joyce Ball of California, Elsie Bivens of Lonoke and Linda Wharton of Florida.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care, Inc., 1501 N. University Avenue, Suite 500, Little Rock, Ark. 72207 or Alzheimer’s Arkansas Association, 10411 W. Markham St., Little Rock, Ark. 72204.

Funeral services were Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Edgewood Memorial Park.

Lemus McFadden

Lemus McFadden, 89, of Cabot died Tuesday, May 6, 2003.

He was a retired carpenter and cabinetmaker and a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Irene “Dean” McFadden; one brother, Rex McFadden of Cabot; one sister, Elva Ferren of Searcy.

Funeral services, under the direction of Roller-Owens Funeral Home were Thursday, May 8, at Bethel Assembly of God Church.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Assembly of God Church Building Fund, 7311 West Republican Road, Jacksonville, Ark. 72076.

Arthur George Beer

Arthur George Beer, age 74, of Cabot, died Sunday, May 11, 2003.
He came to the U.S., from England, in 1952 to become a U.S. Citizen and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years Reda Lavonne Nichols Beer; two daughters, Colleen Garner and Valerie Hornyak; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild; all of Cabot; and one brother Stan Beer of Chicago, Ill.

Services were Friday, May 16, 2003 at Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Apostolic Faith in Des Arc, where Arthur was assistant pastor. Interment followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot. Arrangements by Thomas Funeral Service, Cabot.

Beulah C. G. Mann

Beulah Clair Griffin Mann, 100, of Carlisle, died Monday, May 12, 2003.
She was a life long resident of Carlisle, a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, P.T.A., Self Culture Club, and a former elementary teacher. She and her husband were owners of W. H. Mann Rexall Drug Store in Carlisle.

She is survived by a brother, Harry Griffin of Los Angeles, Calif.
Graveside services were Thursday, May 15, 2003 at the Carlisle Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen.

Memorials may be made to the Carlisle Methodist Church, Box 417 and the Carlisle Cemetery, Box 319, Carlisle, Ark. 72024.

Roy E. Mattocks Jr.

Roy Eugene Mattocks Jr. of Allen, Texas, 41, died Sunday, May 11, 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Roxanne; stepson, Justin Hullinger; stepdaughter, Holly Endsley; mother, Sharon Dowling; stepfather, Joe Dowling; father, Roy E. Mattocks Sr.; stepmother, Barbara Mattocks; sister, Melinda Dallies; brother, James Mattocks; step-sisters, Tracy Cooper, Aubrey Bibbs and Karrie Evans.
A memorial service was held May 16 at Victory Baptist Church, Cabot.

Harl J. Aldridge

Harl J. Aldridge, 84, of Winchester died May 16, 2003.

He was born in Lonoke County, was a farmer, a member of the Tillar Baptist Church, and a World War II Navy veteran.

Survivors are his wife, Evelyn Watkins Aldridge; sons, Tom of Winchester, Steve of Columbus, Ind. and Dr. Tim Aldridge of South Bend, Ind.; a daughter, Nevelyn Aldridge Smith of Pine Bluff; a brother, Charles W. Aldridge of Wilmot; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Saturday, graveside, at Lonoke Cemetery by Griffin Funeral Home of Dumas.

Memorials may be made to the Linwood Baptist Church, P.O. Box 8, Moscow, Ark.

Delores Jean Davis

Delores Jean Davis, 72, of Jacksonville died Sunday, May 18, 2003.

Survivors include her husband, Sam; daughters, Amber Hughes of Ward, Dawn Miraglia of Jacksonville and Dana Murdock of Sherwood; sister, Phyllis Morgan of Florida; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 22, at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

Elbert English

Elbert “Red” English, 68, died Saturday.

He is survived by one son, Charles English; two sisters, Bonnie Edwards of Searcy, and Connie Dillard of Cabot.

Graveside services were May 20 at Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Joy. Arrangements entrusted to McEuen Funeral Home, Searcy.

Jimmy Joe Smith

Jimmy Joe Smith, age 40, of Ward, died Sunday, May 11, 2003.
He was a small-engine mechanic and a Baptist.

Surviving are two brothers, Rex Smith of Morrilton and George Smith of Heber Springs.

Funeral was Friday at Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Weir Cemetery.

George Brodie III

George Brodie III, 76, of England died May 15, 2003.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Lana Walls of England, Dr. Carolyn Brodie of Silver Lake, Ohio, and Liz Dacus of Cabot; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Kenneth Brodie of Mer Rouge, La.; and one sister, Joyce Ann Nauss of Franklin, Tenn.

A retired Texaco distributor, he was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Graveside services were Saturday, May 17, in Mulberry Cemetery, with arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, England.

Memorials may be made to the building fund of the First United Methodist Church, 200 N.E. Second, England, Ark. 72046.
