Mrs. Walker

Mrs. Sarah Jane Walker, 44, of Beech Grove, died Monday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, James Marion Walker of the home; one daughter, Emily Walker of the home; her parents, Eli and Rosetta Mae Ellington Murray of Pocahontas; two brothers, Eli Alan Murray and Stanley Gene Murray, both of Delaplaine; and one sister, Roseanna Gay Lowtharp of Pocahontas.

Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 10 in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas, with Don Winfrey officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4 this afternoon until 8 this evening at the funeral home.

Lasiter

Funeral services for Laudie Thomas Lasiter, 90, of Walnut Ridge, who died Monday at Baton Rouge, La., will be Thursday afternoon at 2 at Higginbotham Funeral Service of Walnut Ridge, with Rev. Bob Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Lawrence Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Gary Cunningham, Shane Cunningham, Bill Morgan, Rosie Foley, J.R. Rogers and Don Rorex.

Honorary pallbearers will include John Bailey, Braden Despot, Brooks Despot, Connor Despot, Tim Hemphill, Tanner Hemphill, Robert Balestrino Jr., Steve Sceroler, Dixon McMakin, Jim Fenno, Charles Creswell and Roy Creswell.

Born in Goodman, Miss., he was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Verna Lasiter of the home; two daughters, Ruthie Balestrino of Memphis and Susan Bailey of Atlanta, Ga.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carr

Mrs. Jessie Doris Carr, 95, of Bono, died Tuesday at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center. Born in Jonesboro, she was a homemaker and a member of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church of Jonesboro. She was a member of the Bono Extension Homemakers Club, The Hoe and Hope Garden Club, The Keenagers, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Jonesboro Order of the Eastern Star, Order of the Amaranth and the American Association of Retired Persons.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay Raymond and Selma Tate, both of Bono; one son, Carroll Carr of Bono; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Carr.

Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 10 at Emerson Funeral Home's Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro, with Tommy Toombs and Clyde Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Charles Cook, Kenny Tolbert, Robert Douglas, Wayne Fortson, Gene Pfeifer, John Broadaway, Lavoy Sanders and John May.

Visitation will be this afternoon from 5 until 8 this evening at the funeral home.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to the Gideons International or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Miles

Graveside services for William Edwin Miles, 75, of Paragould, who died Tuesday at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, will be held at 2 this afternoon at Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould, with the Rev. Royce Boling officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Heath Funeral Home of Paragould.

Born in Walcott, he was the co-owner of Miles and Robb Construction Co. He was a member of Brown's Chapel Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II, serving in Company A, 234th Engineer Combat Battalion of the Army.

Survivors include two sons, Dickey Miles and Phillip Miles, both of Paragould; two brothers, Jim Miles of Little Rock and Paul Miles of Knoxville, Tenn.; one sister, Lavanda Honeycutt of Cherokee Village; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Marie Childress Miles.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 this afternoon until time of the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lilly

A memorial service for Mrs. Laura Nutter Lilly, 90, of Jonesboro, who died Monday at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 Friday morning at Gregg Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Carlton Cross officiating. Burial rites will be private.

She was a lifetime resident of Jonesboro. She was employed at Grady Insurance from 1928 to 1972. Mrs. Lilly and her husband, Charles F. Lilly, owned and operated the agency from 1955 to 1972. Mrs. Lilly was a member of the First United Methodist Church, past regent of the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and active in other civic organizations.

Survivors include one brother, Charles N. Nutter of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Visitation will be held from 5 in the afternoon to 7 in the evening Thursday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church or St. Bernard's Village.

Mrs. Fleszar

Mrs. Jane Elizabeth Fleszar, 62, of Louisville, Ky., died Thursday at Mount Holly Nursing Home in Louisville. Formerly of Paragould, she was born in Atlanta and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Fleszar of Louisville, Ky.,; a son, Joey Fleszar of Paragould; a daughter, Lisa Carroll of Thomasville, Ga.; and two sisters, Peggy Childre of Conroe, Texas, and Nan Ennis of Jackson, Ga.

A memorial service has been scheduled for 7 Thursday evening at Heath Funeral Home chapel in Paragould, with Rev. Mike Morey officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge, Ga.

The family requests that persons wishing to leave lasting memorials consider Barnes-Jewish Hospital Transplant Research Fund, in care of Dr. Todd Howard, 1 Barnes-Jewish Hospital Plaza, Queen Tower Suite 6107, St. Louis, Mo. 63110.

Miss Thomas

Funeral services for Miss Amy E. Thomas, 26, of Paragould have been scheduled for 10:30 Thursday morning at Heath Funeral Home chapel in Paragould, with Dr. Charles F. DeVane Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Coffman Cemetery near Paragould.

Miss Thomas died Saturday at her home. Born in Memphis, she was employed by L. A. Darling Store Fixtures and was a member of East Side Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Harry W. Thomas.

Survivors include her parents, Butch and Valerie Thomas of Paragould; two brothers, Lawson Thomas and Charles Thomas, both of Paragould; a sister, Staci Williams of Paragould; her paternal grandmother, Wilma (Bill) Thomas of Paragould; and her maternal grandparents, Charles and Grace Spindler of Alexander.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will include Lawson Thomas, Charles Thomas, Jacob Cunningham, Kyle Frazier, Thomas Jackson and Chris Burris.

The family requests that persons wishing to leave lasting memorials consider East Side Baptist Church.

Carter

Dexter "D.D." Carter, 86, of 253 Craighead Road 344, Jonesboro, died Monday evening at Regional Medical Center of NEA. Born in Jonesboro, he lived in Michigan where he operated a carpet and furniture cleaning business. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy, and had lived in Jonesboro for the last seven years.

Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Dillion of Corunna, Mich., Shirley Carter of Hazel Park, Mich., and Linda Zepke of Sterling Heights, Mich.; a brother, W.P. Carter of Tucson, Ariz.,; a sister, Elverene Howell of Eureka, Mo.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The body will be returned to Hazel Park, Mich., for burial. Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro is in charge of local arrangements.

Taylor

Ambers "A.R." Taylor, 63, of Caraway died Monday at Regional Medical Center of NEA. Born in Caraway, he lived in Jonesboro for 43 years, moving from Caraway. He worked for Southwestern Bell for 30 years before retiring and was a member of Greensboro Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sheryl Taylor of the home; two sons, Dr. Bruce Taylor and Andy Taylor, both of Jonesboro; a daughter, Paula Nichols of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Dalton Taylor of Caraway, Ralph Taylor of Jonesboro and Harold Taylor of Clear Lake, Calif.; a sister, Myrtle Thomas of Blytheville; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 Thursday morning at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home chapel, with Terry Joe Kee officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include Jerry Taylor, Randy Oden, Mike Felts, Johnny Dehm, John Robertson and Aaron Honeycutt.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
