Mary Moran
Mary Grant Moran, age 75, of Ward died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cabot and was a product demonstrator at Wal-Mart and other local grocery stores.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Edwin C. Moran of Ward; two daughters, Donna F. Tarver of Orange, Texas, Andrea White of Cabot; two stepdaughters, Roberta McDonald of Mount Clemens, Mich., Louise Simmons of Cabot; stepsons, Raymond and Gary Moran of Corsicana, Texas; brother, Victor E. Poe of Naples, Fla.; sister, Clara Flory of Jacksonville; two grandsons; 12 step-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

Services were Saturday, Feb. 9, at the First Baptist Church in Cabot. Interment, Monk Cemetery. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.

Mary McAdams
Mary Jane McAdams, 81, of Lonoke died Tuesday.

She was a retired grocery merchant, and a member of the Hayti United Methodist Church, Hayti, Mo.

Survivors: son, Larry McAdams, Little Rock; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, H.R. Euell Jr.; sister, Wanda Cole.
Funeral was Friday at the United Methodist Church in Hayti, Mo.
Memorials may be made to the Hayti United Methodist Church. John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti, Mo. in charge. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.

Viola Nelson
Viola (Billie) Nelson, age 80, of Cabot, went to see the face of her Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, Feb. 8, 2002.

Mrs. Nelson was a World War II veteran, where she was a cook in the United States Army.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Nelson.

She is survived by her children, Donna Hamby of Cabot, Zelma Harrison and husband, Leon, of Cabot, Mikki Bolt and husband, Tom of Bossier City, La., and Mike Nelson and wife, JoAnne, of Riverside, Calif.; stepdaughter, Koneta LeVan, and husband, Bill, of Springfield, Ohio; a brother, George Brown of Providence, R.I.; two sisters, Irene Young of St. Louis, Mo., and Deloris Brum of Rehoboth, Mass.; five grandchildren, George Hamby of Cabot, Lisa Hawkins of Kingsport, Tenn., Amy Floyd of Sherwood, Lee Harrison of Cabot, and Stephanie Culpepper of Jacksonville; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at the First Baptist Church in Sherwood. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.

Forrest Edwin Fisher
Forrest Edwin Fisher, age 48, of Cabot passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dorris Wesley Fisher, and a brother, Sammy C. Fisher.

Survived by his wife, Beverly Fisher of the home; a daughter, Julia Fisher of Cabot; mother, Tera Lee Fisher Copeland of Brinkley; two sisters, Doris Cobb of Little Rock and Niska Hall of Senatobia, Miss.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Feb. 12, and services were at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at the Cabot Funeral Chapel. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.

Maxine M. Fortson

Maxine McManus Fortson, 70, of Lonoke, died June 9, 2003.

She is survived by her children, Rory McManus, Gayle Kidd and Dee Dee McManus Engle; five stepchildren; four granddaughters; and four great-granddaughters.

Funeral services were Thursday. Interment was in Edgewood Memorial Park in North Little Rock.

Donations are requested to go to Parents Of Murdered Children, P.O. Box 1885, North Little Rock, Ark., 72115.

Mary Ellen Towsley

Mary Ellen (Ivey) Towsley, age 68, of Jacksonville, died June 11, 2003. She was a member of TOPS 377 for 33 years and a member of New Horizon Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Ellen Petty of Russellville, Nancy Porter of Augusta, Dona Edman of Oregon; two sons, Kenny Towsley of Oklahoma and Joe Towsley of Missouri; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; trwo brothers, Billy Joe Ivey, Arnold Ivey; 10 sisters, Ruby Brandon, Dorothy Rychlowski, Betty Jean Heigle, Juanita Distefano, Carolyn Rischar, Peggy Rupp, Doris Sayles, Joanna Miller, Terry Ann Holland and Becky Nava.

Funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, in the chapel of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home, 1504 J. P. Wright Loop Road with Rev, Kevin Bernard officiating. Burial followed in Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 13 at the funeral home.

Eugene H. Haase

Eugene H. Haase, 76, Austin, died Tuesday, June 10 in Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lulu Haase, a sister and two half-brothers. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Violet, of the home; son, Brian Haase of Kenosha, WI; two daughters, Rita Sides and husband Jim of Stuttgart AR, and Diane Perrone and husband Jerry of La Crescent, MN. Mr. Haase was a Navy veteran from WWII and the Korean War and a 56 year member of the American Legion. He was retired from Met Life Ins. Co. after 30 years. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Methodist Church Building Fund.
Funeral Services were at Mt. Tabor Methodist Church on Saturday, June 14 at 2 p.m. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.

Richard Munch

Austin - Richard “Dick” Munch, 63, died June 14 in Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Jane Munch, of Austin, AR; father and mother-in-law B.J. and Etoile Utley of Austin, AR; Sister-in-law, Linda Riedel and husband, Calvin, of Dover, AR; nephew, John Riedel and wife, Amber, of Danville, AR; niece, Rebecca Sealock and husband, Jason, of Springdale, AR.

Funeral Services were at Cabot Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 18 at 10 a.m., with interment at Dunkard Bretheren Cemetery in Austin, AR. Visitation was Tuesday, June 17 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bowlers Victory League, c/o Wanda Soule, 40 Cardinal Valley Dr., Sherwood, AR 72120. The Bowlers Victory League is the only official charity of the American Bowling Congress and the Women’s International Bowling Congress. All proceeds are used to benefit veterans in Little Rock VA Hospitals. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.

Kelley Lenderman

Kelley Lenderman of Palm Bay, Fla., age 63, died June 15, 2003. He had reported siblings in Lonoke County.
Funeral arrangements were by Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home in Palm Bay.

Mable M. Kesler

Mable M. (Richard) Kesler, 96, of North Little Rock, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003.

She had been a resident of Cabot Manor for the past six years.
She is survived by one stepdaughter, Estelle Kesler Staggs of Stuttgart; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Wilma Bearden of Cabot, Naomi Shoemaker and Margaret Brown both of North Little Rock.

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Graveside service was Friday at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Thomas Funeral Service, Cabot, was in charge.

Martha Lessenberry

Martha Sullivan Lessenberry, 85, of Lonoke died Saturday, June 14, in a Hope hospital.

She was born March 6, 1918, at Lonoke, Ark., the daughter of Hays and Rose Jones Sullivan. She was a fourth generation member of a pioneer Lonoke County family, descended from James P. and Charity Swaim Eagle who settled in the Lonoke County area in 1839.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Lessenberry, and her siblings, Lucille Sullivan Autry, Hays Sullivan, Mary Robison Camden and Samuel William Robison.

Mrs. Lessenberry was a graduate of Central Baptist College for Young Women and Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA) in Conway. She was a long-time member of Lonoke Baptist Church and was an active member of the Dorcas Sunday School class. She touched and influenced many lives through her teaching of three generations of students during her 35-year career at Lonoke Public Schools.

Mrs. Lessenberry is survived by two children, Bob and Sandy Lessenberry of Hope and Carolyn and Randy Leddy of Gulf Breeze, Fla. She has six grandchildren, Donna Childress, Monty and Angie Freel, Lee and Dr. J’Ann Lessenberry, Michael and Susanne Leddy, Carol and Fred Brouwer, Dr. Lee Leddy; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lonoke Baptist Church. Family interment was at 9:30 a.m. at the Lonoke Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Wallace officiated. Boyd Funeral Home was in charge.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lonoke Baptist Church Youth Fund, 406 W. Front St., Lonoke, Ark., 72086, or to the First Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 760, Hope, Ark. 71802-0760.

Truman Mitchell

Truman Mitchell, 64, of Little Rock, died Saturday, June 14, 2003.
He retired from the trucking business, and after retirement began driving tour buses for Arrow Coach in Little Rock.

Survivors are his wife, Carolyn Abernathy Mitchell; three sons, Wes and Chris, both of Little Rock and Shane of Danville; two sisters, Gilda Herring, and Betty Sue King, both of Cabot; one brother, Tommy Mitchell, of North Little Rock; and four grandchildren.

A gathering in remembrance was held Wednesday, June 18, in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, Little Rock, with interment at Birta Cemetery in Yell County.
