Lila C. Raulins

Lila Carolyn Raulins, 80, of Cabot died July 11, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude A. Raulins. She is survived by two daughters, Claudia Rumbaugh and husband Jim, and Deborah Ballard and husband Wesley; one sister, Gladys Wilson; five grandchildren; one great- grandchild.

Visitation was held at the Cabot Funeral Home on Sunday, July 13. Funeral Services were Monday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Brother Harold O’Bryan officiating. Interment was at Natchez City Cemetery in Natchez, MS. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.

Dorothy Schroeder

Dorothy (Dot) Eddins Schroeder 74, died July 9, 2003. She was a Methodist and along with her late husband Raymond Schroeder owned and operated Schroeder’s Place. She is survived by her daughters, Debbye (Carter) Harrison of Hickory Plains and Tandee ( Mack) Mackert of Mablevale,
three sisters, Hazel Sample of Biscoe, Quilly Morgan of Jacksonville, Joyce Jones of Lakeview, 5 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren, 2 great- great-grandchildren. Services were at 4 p.m. Sunday at Hickory Plains United Methodist Church with interment at Carlisle Cemetery, by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke. Visitation was Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hickory Plains United Methodist Church.

George Castleberry

George Worth Castleberry 71, died Friday July 11. He was a Korean veteran, retired from the U.S. Air Force and Western Union. He was past Commander of VFW Post 10442 in Rose City, a member of the Eagles and the American Legion.

He is survived by his brothers; Bill Castleberry of California, and Bob Castleberry of Georgia, a sister; Ruby Woods of Alaska. Graveside services were held Tuesday at Mulberry Cemetery in England by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.

William H. Bransford

William Hastings Bransford, age 81, of Little Rock died Sunday, July 13, 2003.

He grew up in Lonoke. He was employed by United Aircraft Corp., as a research engineer. During World War II he was a naval officer, and served aboard a gunboat and rocket ship in the Pacific Theatre. After the war he was employed by Great Lakes Carbon Corp., as a division engineer in the buildings material division. In 1950 he returned to Lonoke to run the Bransford Gin Co. He and his family moved to Little Rock in the early ‘60s where he was involved in several enterprises, including an insurance company, farming, real estate development in Arkansas and Louisiana, and general investments. He was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, Kappa Sigma Fraternity, a 32 Degree Mason, and The Poets Club.

He is survived by two daughters, Frances Beth Bransford and Mary Moses Sours, both of Chico, Calif.; two sons, William Hastings Bransford III and Lawson W. Turner III, both of Little Rock; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at Lonoke Cemetery by Ruebel Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to The Dr. Robert Bransford Scholarship Fund at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences, Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 25068, Little Rock 72225, or The Arkansas Hospice, 2200 Fort Roots Drive, North Little Rock, Ark. 72114.

Colin A. Campbell

Colin Andrew Campbell, infant son of Tommy and Stephanie Randall Campbell, died Tuesday July 8, 2003.

Other survivors, grandparents Larry and Judy West of Greenbrier and Pam and Les Nakasue of Lonoke.

Graveside services were July 14, at Crestlawn Memorial Park.

Robert Dale Hicks

Robert Dale Hicks, age 77, of Quitman died July 12, 2003.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Jane (Pugh) Hicks; one son, Jim Hicks of Conway; and one daughter, Karen Ward of Cabot; six grandchildren; one sister, Emogene Keathley of Conway; two brothers, Pete Hicks of Quitman, and Travis Hicks of Knoxville, Tenn.

He was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
Memorials may be made to the Faulkner County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1055, Conway, Ark. 72033.

Funeral services were July 16, at Griffin Leggett Conway Chapel with burial in Quitman cemetery.

Willie Mae Justice

Willie Mae Justice, age 61, died July 8, 2003.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Justice; one son, Arnold Justice of Lonoke; three daughters, Marilyn White of Malvern, Brenda Fontaine of Michigan and Peggy Fox of North Little Rock; brother, Alfred Clements of California; sisters, Dorothy Pruett of Tennessee and Susie Yearout of Virginia, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke, with interment in Hicks Cemetery.

Bernice Rhodes

Bernice McKinzie Rhodes died Friday, July 4, 2003.
Survivors include seven children, three brothers, one sister, 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were July 12, at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Dornice D. Young

Dornice Dodson Young, 56, of Casa Grande, Ariz., died July 14, 2003.
She was involved in church ministry as a missionary on state, district and local levels in Arkansas and Arizona. She was a member of New Hope C.O.G.I.C. in Coolige, Ariz.

Survivors are her husband, Harvey T. Young Sr. of Casa Grande, Ariz., a son, Harvey T. Young Jr. of Florence, Ariz., daughters, Sharon Acklin of Conway and Renana Patrick of Arizona City, Ariz.; brothers, Major Dodson of Los Angeles, Calif., Perry Dodson and Robert Dodson, both of Lonoke; a sister, Laura Spencer of Lonoke; and four grandchildren.

Funeral will be at noon July 19 at New Calvary Temple C.O.G.I.C., with burial in Sunset Cemetery by Acklin Funeral Home of Little Rock.

Delma M. Tumbleson

Delma Maye Tumbleson, 67, of Humnoke died July 13, 2003.

Survivors are her husband, Clifford Tumbleson; son, Mike Tumbleson of Humnoke; daughters, Vickie Alberson and Jan Henry of Humnoke and Kim Weaver of Stuttgart; seven grandchildren; sisters, Demoie Campbell of Little Rock, Della Ball of Humnoke, Dail Campbell of Mablevale; and brothers, Delbert Moore and Darrell Moore of Little Rock.

She was a member of Rowes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral was Wednesday at Rowes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Humnoke with burial in Hamilton Cemetery. Roller-England Funeral Home was in charge.

Memorials may be made to Rowes Chapel Church.

Jason H. Taylor

Jason H. Taylor, 29, of Jacksonville passed away Monday, July 21, 2003. He worked for Harbor Distributing Company and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Beka Taylor, of Jacksonville; unborn son, Jesse Taylor; parents, Bobby and Sharon Taylor, of Cabot; sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and James Thissen, of Jacksonville and a special niece, Cassidy Griggs, of Jacksonville.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170.

Corey M. Jackson

Corey McKinley Jackson (handle “Wanderer”), 26, died as a result of a one-vehicle accident on July 14, 2003.

Corey was traveling west bound on Interstate 40 just west of Forrest City when the 18-wheeler, which he was driving, careened out of control, struck a highway bridge guardrail and burst into flames as it collided with an embankment.
Corey is survived by his wife, Tara Tuttle Jackson; a son, Nathaniel Jackson; daughter, Mattea McKinley Jackson; and infant son, Corey McKinley Jackson Jr.; his parents, father Jerry M. Jackson and stepmother Sarah Jackson of England; his mother, Becky Kelso and stepfather Rick Kelso of Clinton; and maternal grandmother, Bessie Jackson of England.

Funeral services were July 19, at Keo Baptist Church under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of England with Rev. Elvis Smith officiating. Interment was in McGinty Town Cemetery at McGinty Town near Greenbrier.
A trust fund account has been established at the Bank of England to benefit the family.
