Funeral services for Dornice Dodson Young, 56, of Casa Grande, Ariz., who died Monday, July 14, 2003, were held Saturday, New Calvary Temple C.O.G.I.C., North Little Rock. Interment, Sunset Cemetery, Lonoke. Arrangements, Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Little Rock,

John Calloway Jr.

John Calloway Jr., 61, of Coweta, Okla., formerly of Lonoke County, died Monday, July 14, 2003.

He is survived by two sons, Jimmy Earl Calloway of El Dorado and Jonathan Calloway of Sand Springs, Okla.; a stepson, Roger Dale Holmun of Fordyce; two stepdaughters, Shirley Ann Holmun and Lisa Renae Holmun of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Joyce Newnum of Bradford; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was July 18 at Carter Cemetery in Russell, with arrangements by Powell Funeral Home of Bald Knob-Judsonia.

Donald R. Strickland

Donald Ray Strickland, 67, of Alexandria, La., died July 4, 2003.

Funeral and burial were July 12 in Minden, La.

He was a retired staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors are his mother, Floris Carter Strickland of Shreveport, La.; a son, Bob Strickland of Tulsa, Okla.; a daughter, Becky Worden of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a sister, Carrie Dillman of Shreveport, La.; and four grandchildren.

Bernice M. Rhodes

Bernice McKinzie Rhodes died July 4, 2003.

Survivors include seven children; three brothers, one sister and 40 grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m., July 12, at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Robert Leneer Smith

Robert Leneer Smith, 66, of Lonoke died June 28, 2003.

He was a member of the Faith Christian Center at Lonoke.

Survivors are his wife, Sandra Mealler Smith; children, Robert Alan Smith, Rhonda Kay Polk, Sherri Lynn Smith and Brian Keith Smith; mother, Lena Westerman; a sister, Betty Turner; a brother, Phillip Mealler; six grandchildren.
Funeral was July 7 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home, with entombment in Chapel Pines Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to the Faith Christian Center Church of Lonoke, P.O. Box 832, Cabot, 72023.

Jack Lowman Bodie

Jack Lowman Bodie, 79, of Little Rock, died Friday, June 20, 2003.
He was a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force and participated in a pilot exchange program with Great Britain’s Royal Air Force. He served as Squadron Commander in the RAF, and was chosen to fly in the London coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. He retired from the USAF as a Lt. Colonel. Since returning to Arkansas in 1963, he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and choir member at First Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. In addition, he was Chairman of the Southeast Arkansas Blood Drive, served on the board of Southeast Arkansas Arts and Science Center, had leading roles in community theater productions, founded the Pine Bluff Chapter of Christian Business Men’s Council, was a Youth Home board member, and President of the Diamond State Chapter of the Society of Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America. He retired after 30 years as a broker with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.

He is survived by his children, Kathy Bodie Allison of Cabot, Jan Bodie Danner of Little Rock, Bill Bodie of Little Rock, and Beth Yocom of Hope; a brother, Morgan William Bodie of Garland, Texas; and 12 grandchildren.

A memorial service was held June 23, at Grace Presbyterian Church.
Full military burial was held at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery North Little Rock.

Memorials may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, 9301 N. Rodney Parham, Little Rock, 72227; or the Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Home.

Marcia J. Cunningham

Marcia Jean Love Cunningham, 56, of Little Rock, died June 21, 2003.
She was born in Carlisle and was a Baptist.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Leslie Cunningham of Little Rock; her son, Evan Cunningham of Mayflower; four grandchildren; one brother, Ray Love of Little Rock.

Funeral was June 23 at the Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Hazen.

Raymond E. Myers

Raymond Eugene Myers, 21, of Jacksonville died June 15, 2003.

He is survived by his mother, Theresa Bonner of Kissimmee, Fla.; father, James Patrick Myers of Florence, Ariz.; brother, J.P. Myers of Jacksonville; grandparents, Richard and Elizabeth Bonner of Northport, Fla.; grandmother, Mary Beth Myers of Jacksonville.

Funeral services were Monday at Huson Funeral Home Chapel, Sherwood, with interment in Flynn Cemetery in Humnoke.

Edward L. Heatherly

Edward Lynn Heatherly, 64, of Orange, Calif., formerly of Newport, died June 18, 2003.

He is survived by his wife, Beverley; his mother, Gail McLaughlin Heatherly of Tuckerman; brother, William King Heatherly of Cabot; sister, Marcia Sivils of San Ramon, Calif.

Memorial services will be 12 noon Friday, June 27 at Ferrara Colonial Mortuary.
Memorial gifts may be sent to St. Joseph Regional Cancer Center, 1100 West Stewart Drive, P.O. Box 5600, Orange, Calif., 92863-5600.

Audrey Wildrick
Audrey Elizabeth Wildrick, 52, of Ward, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002.

Surviving are her mother, Lorene Bowling, Ward; one brother, Virgil Wildrick, Houston, Texas; four sisters, Ann Tharpe, Louise Holt and Nancy Weigand, all of Ward, and Judy Loyd, East End.
Funeral was Jan. 22 at Country Chapel, Ward, with burial in National Cemetery.

Thomas Beard
Thomas Larry Beard Sr., 66, of Morrilton died Jan. 20, 2002. He was a service manager at Jodi Brown Motors in Conway, and was a member of Needs Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Beard; sons, Thomas L. Beard Jr. of Wooster and David E. Beard of Austin; four grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters.

Services were Jan. 22 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel, Conway with burial in Needs Creek Cemetery.

Harry Shooke
Harry Lee Shooke, 47, died Jan. 16, 2002. He worked for Asbestos Removal Company.
Surviving are his mother, Frances Hammond; two brothers, Charles Earnest Shooke Jr. of Dallas, Texas, and Jerry Hammond of Hardy; two sisters, Barbara Nowell of Cabot and Patti Harris of Oklahoma City.

Funeral service was Jan. 18 at Searcy Funeral Home Chapel.

Mildred Whitsitt
Mildred Lusby Whitsitt, 90, died Jan. 15, 2002.

She is survived by Nancy Lusby Adams and Mildred Lusby Peterson.

Funeral was Jan. 19 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, Pine Bluff.

Lena Red
Lena Estelle Red, formerly of Little Rock, died Jan. 13, 2002 in Nashville, TN. She was born in Lonoke Aug. 31, 1906.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Walker of Brentwood, TN; granddaughters and great-granddaughters.

Graveside services with interment were at Pinecrest Memorial Park, with Rev. Linda Singh officiating
