Billy J. Montgomery

Mr. Billy J. Montgomery, 71, of Osceola, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at his home. Born June 21, 1931, in Osceola, he was a member of the Osceola First Baptist Church and a retired highway maintenance supervisor. He was a past master of the Osceola Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of the Osceola Lodge for over 20 years. He was a member and a past president of the Lions Club, Mississippi County Shriners Club, Scottish Rite of West Memphis and the Pine Bluff Shriners Club. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Ruby Wallace Montgomery, and one infant son.

Mr. Montgomery leaves one son, Billy Mac Montgomery, and his wife, Debbie, of Brighton, Tenn.;

One daughter, Cindy Wachter, and her husband, Bill, of Cleveland, Miss.;

One sister, Katherine Skaggs of Osceola; and

Three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Osceola First Baptist Church, with burial following in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Bro. Dale Walker will officiate.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today at Roller-Swift Funeral Home in Osceola.

SAMUEL AUGUSTINE 'GUS' MORRIS

Mr. Samuel Augustine "Gus" Morris of Luxora died Tuesday at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville.

JESSIE ROSS

Ms. Jessie Ross, 78, of Osceola, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Osceola. She had been a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Ms. Ross leaves two brothers, Harry Neeley of Houston and Don Neeley of Cabot.

Graveside services were conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bassett Cemetery, with Bro. Gary Andrews officiating.

Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola was in charge or arrangements.

CLEO WILLIAMS

Ms. Cleo Williams, 77, of Blytheville, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Blytheville. Born April 26, 1925, in Tyronza, she had been a homemaker and was a member of Progressive Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert E. Brown and Minnie Lee Wilson Brown.

Ms. Williams leaves four sons, Calvin Leachman of Chicago, Arthur Brown and Larry Phillips, both of Blytheville, and Walter Lewis of Bunkie, La.;

Four daughters, Hattie Spencer, Jimmie Lee Northern, Willie Ethel Leachman and Gracie Mosley, all of Blytheville;

One sister, Isbell Hill of Turrell;

Three brothers, Willie Brown of Chicago, Ezel Brown of Marion and Lee Arthur Brown of Detroit; and

Twenty-three grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Blytheville, with the Rev. L.B. Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville.

HAROLD GENE CUDE

Mr. Harold Gene Cude, 73, of Leachville, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at his home. Born Aug. 30, 1927, in Leachville, the son of Melvin and Margaret Mae Cude, he was a lifelong Leachville resident. He was a retired farmer and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Cude.

Mr. Cude leaves his wife, Mrs. Bernice Cude of the home;

One son, Chuck Allen of Leachville;

Two brothers, Modell Cude of Hollywood, Fla., and Paul Cude of O'Fallon, Mo.; and

Two grandchildren, Jennifer Allen and Jeffery Lee Allen, both of Leachville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville, with the Rev. Chris Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

FLOYD MILTON DESPAIN

Mr. Floyd Milton DeSpain, 92, of Manila, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Blytheville. Born in Carbondale, Ill., he had been a Manila resident for most of his life and was a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, John DeSpain and James DeSpain, and a sister, Effie Schaeffer.

Mr. DeSpain leaves his wife of 50 years, Norma Grable DeSpain of the home;

Two daughters, Mrs. Glenda Killough and Mrs. Brenda Haynes, both of Blytheville;

Two sisters, Mrs. Mae Staples and Mrs. Alice Morrow, both Ann Arbor, Mich.;

Five grandchildren, David A. Garner Jr., Jennifer L. Garner, Michael D. Killough, Jamie C. Cole and William Floyd DeSpain; and

Two great-grandchildren, David A. Garner III and Loren Rylee Garner.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila, with the Rev. William Piercy and the Rev. Randy Lemmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

TRUMALEE WATSON RAZER

Mrs. Trumalee Watson Razer, 77, of Blytheville, the widow of Marvin Razer, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, as a result of an accident east of the golf course on the Arkansas Aeroplex in Blytheville. Born Sept. 6, 1923, in Keiser, the daughter of Edward William and Zora Myrtle Markham Watson, she was a lifelong Mississippi County resident, a retired bookkeeper and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a volunteer for both the Red Cross and the Baptist Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the Mississippi County Community College Booster Club. Mrs. Razer was a sports enthusiast and an avid golfer and bowled in the women's league at the Blytheville Bowling Center.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Watson Anchlin and Sarah "Sis" Watson Harlan; and two brothers, Marion Edward Watson and Edward W. Watson.

Mrs. Razer leaves two brothers, Carl "Dick" Watson of Blytheville and Charles "Buck" Watson of Paducah, Ky.; and

Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville, with the Rev. Bill Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Mississippi County Memorial Garden in Osceola.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

GENEVA A. RICHARDSON

Mrs. Geneva A. Richardson, 78, of Conway, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at her home. She was the daughter of Oscar and Della Alexander of Blytheville.

Mrs. Richardson leaves her husband, H.B. "Jim" Richardson of the home;

Five children, Anita Briscoe of Tipton, Mo., J.D. Stilwell and Patti Carpenter, both of Haugan, Mont., Dick Richardson of Conway and Frank Richardson of Osceola; and

Thirteen grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

The gathering will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Griffin Leggett-Conway Chapel, 1751 Dave Ward Dr. (Highway 286 West), (501) 327-5000. The Rev. Dusty Day and the Rev. Bill Hughes will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

JAMES COLUMBUS YOUNT

Mr. James Columbus Yount, 82, of Little Rock, died Monday, June 18, 2001, at Pleasant Valley Living Center in Little Rock. Born Jan. 31, 1919, in Savannah, Tenn., he had been an exterminator.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge Yount and Ada Moffett Yount.

Mr. Yount leaves his daughter, Suzanne Fehr of St. Petersburg, Fla.;

Two sisters, Juanita Yount Gray of Blytheville and Louisa Howard of St. Louis;

One granddaughter, Page Goodman of St. Petersburg; and

Nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were conducted at 1 p.m. today at Pemiscot Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Caruthersville, Mo., with Mr. Craig Lindsey officiating.

Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele, Mo., was in charge of arrangements.

CHARLES FRED BOLING

Mr. Charles Fred Boling, 58, of Manila, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at his home. Born in Manila, the son of Hite and Eunice Boling, he was a retired farmer and life-long Manila resident. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Boling leaves his wife, Laverne Lawrence Boling of the home;

One son, Eric Ray Boling of Manila;

One daughter, Fay Boling-Fisher of Manila;

One sister, Wilma "Midge" East of Manila; and

Four grandchildren, Blake, Sarah, Brandie and Dustin.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila, with the Rev. Michael Winberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Williams, Tony Crowell, J.R. King, Nelson Morris, Robbie Lawrence and John Piercy.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Community United Methodist Church in Manila.
