Smith

Emmitt Smith Jr., 73, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Hickory Ridge, died Friday at the Kansas City Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Ella Smith of Kansas City, Mo.; one son, Kevin Smith of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Susan Smith of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Bobby Smith of Kansas City, Mo.; three sisters, Wilma Parks of Wynne, Jean Melton and Joyce Tindell both of Benton.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne.

Mrs. Howard

Mrs. Pauline Craig Howard, 77, of Oil Trough, died Saturday at Newport. She retired from Brown-Jordan Company, where she was a lacer. She was a member of the Oil Trough United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Pridmore Berry of Perdido Key, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Euwin Howard; two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be Monday morning at 10 at the Oil Trough United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Maple Springs Cemetery at Oil Trough. Jackson's Newport Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be this evening from 6 until 8:30 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Oil Trough.

Mrs. Lackey

Mrs. Evelyn Reams Lackey, 80, of Newport, died Friday at Newport. Born at Joiner, she was retired from Victor Metals and was a member of the Cherokee Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Clinton Lackey of Newport; a brother, Carl Reams of Jacksonville, Ala.; a sister, Virginia Coe of Newport; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Oscar Lackey, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 2 at the Jackson's Newport Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Memory Garden Cemetery at Johnstown.

Pallbearers will include Talmadge Honey, Greg Burnett, Emmitt Campbell, Zack Campbell, Jeff Duty, Raymond Coe and Clint Lackey Jr.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.

Wrather

Robert Wrather, 80, of Lafe, died Tuesday at the Regional Medical Center of NEA in Jonesboro. A World War II Army veteran, he was a farmer and a retired school bus driver. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Wrather of Lafe; one son, Robert Lynn Wrather of Lafe; three daughters, Jo Ann McDonald of Lafe, Brenda Nelson of Jonesboro and Linda Keeling of Trotwood, Ohio; three sisters, Pauline Cole of Gainesville, Lessie Cole of Paragould and Betty Jo Hoskins of Canton, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by three brothers and by one sister.

Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 1:30 at Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould, with Kim Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.

Brown

Orville Joseph Brown, 78, of 509 Robertson, Bay, died Monday at his home. Born in Brainerd, Minn., he had lived in Chicago until moving to Bay 20 years ago. He was a maintenance worker for O.S. Kelly Co. and of the Lutheran faith.

Survivors include a daughter, Marylin Millar of Crystal Lake, Ill.; two sons, Garry Brown of Crystal Lake and Ronald Brown of Bay; one brother, Blanchard Brown of Motley, Minn., and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delphia Louise Brown, one sister and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 at the Thompson Funeral Home chapel in Trumann, with Rev. Laird Duran officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Scott

Robert D. Scott, 80, of Fisher, died Tuesday at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Arrangements will be announced by Langford's Funeral Service of Jonesboro.

Mrs. Cole

Mrs. Lillian Lee Cole, 85, of Paragould, died Tuesday at Arkansas Methodist Hospital. Born in Lafe, she was a homemaker and member of Westview Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Dewey Cole, Eugene Cole and Jerry Cole, all of Paragould, and Randall Cole of Bartlett, Tenn.; two brothers, James Newell of Detroit, Mich., and Robert Newell of Marmaduke; four sisters, Wanda Cagle, Alice Knuckles, Beatrice McFall and Melvene Russom, all of Paragould; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Cole.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 at Heath Funeral Home's Colonial Chapel, with Revs. Ron Pickney and Ronnie Winn officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.

The family asks that persons wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider Westview Baptist Church.

Herrington

Thomas Edward Herrington, 63, of Marie, died Saturday at the Baptist Hospital East in Memphis. He was a retired fireman and logger, member of the New Life Tabernacle in Wilson and a Navy veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Lena Herrington of Marie; four daughters, Sherry Freeman of Cave City, Teresa Bickerstaff of Leander, Texas, and Kristie Flanagan and Ashley Herrington of Marie; two sons, Thomas Lee Herrington of Lehi, Fla., and Brandon Edward Herrington of Marie; four sisters, Geraldine Summers of Gary, Ind., Louise Long of Manila, Gracie Lawrence of Marmaduke and Brenda Wooldridge of Cave City; six brothers, Neal Herrington of Cabot, Robert Herrington of Tuckerman, Charles Herrington of St. Charles, Mo., David Herrington, Jerry Herrington and Roger Herrington of Sidney, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be this afternoon at 2 in the chapel of the Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola, with Keith Stokes officiating. Burial will be in the Mississippi County Memorial Gardens at Osceola.

Chambers

Funeral services for James Roy Chambers, 93, of Harrisburg, who died Friday at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center, were held at 1 Monday afternoon at Roller-Farmers Union chapel in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Frank Bufford officiating. Burial followed in Nettleton Cemetery.

Born in Lake City, he was a retired Singer Co. employee, a World War II veteran and a longtime resident of Trumann and Harrisburg. He was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include one son, Victor Chambers of Harrisburg; two daughters, Loree Robinson of Harrisburg and Linda Bland of Trumann; one brother, Vernon Chambers of Trumann; two sisters, Marie Epps and Fay Foreman, both of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Chambers, one son and one daughter.

Smith

Floyd Martin Smith, 56, of Pocahontas, died Monday at the Randolph County Medical Center. Born in Lansing, Mich., he was a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Verna R. Martin Smith of Pocahontas; one son, Troy Smith of Pocahontas; two daughters, Robin Cannon of Pocahontas and Cindy Dean of Jonesboro; one brother, Leo Smith of Pine Bluff; one sister, Pat Clay of Pocahontas, and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 Thursday morning in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas, with Sidney White officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Dean Smith, Kenny Smith, Chris Smith, Randy Smith, Charles Allen and Stevie Allen.

Visitation will be held from 5 this afternoon to 8 this evening at the funeral home.

Spencer

Jerry William Spencer, 54, of Wynne, died Monday at the Regional Medical Center of NEA in Jonesboro. Born in Lepanto, he was a communications technician for AT&T for 33 years and a veteran of the Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Genie Spencer of Wynne; one son, Clinton Matthew Spencer of Jonesboro; one daughter, Gina Marie Butz of Wynne; and four sisters, Patsy Tucker of Ravenden Springs, Carolyn Patterson and Betty Moore, both of Bay, and Shirley Brooks of Dyess.

Funeral services will be held at 2 Thursday afternoon at the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home chapel in Wynne, with Fred Strasser officiating. Burial will follow in Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thiel

Mrs. Elsie Caroline Thiel, 96, of Paragould, died Tuesday at Paragould Nursing Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Paragould.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Heath Funeral Home of Paragould.
