Mrs. Farrow

Mrs. Fern Farrow of Horseshoe Bend died Wednesday at the Calico Rock Medical Center.

Funeral services will be announced by the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. O\'Dell

Funeral services for Mrs. Juanita Byrd O'Dell, 78, of Newport, who died Sunday at Newport Hospital, will be held Friday morning at 10 in the chapel of Dillinger Funeral Home of Newport. Burial will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery at Tuckerman.

Mrs. O'Dell was a former employee of the Voss Manufacturing Co. at Newport.

Survivors include three sons, John Steele of Newport, Robert P. Steele of Memphis, Tenn., and Douglas Steele of Florida; one daughter, Frances Maxfield of Florida; one sister, Lucille Miller of St. Louis, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 1 this afternoon until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Miller

Virgil Jackson Miller, 89, of Jonesboro, died Monday at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center. Formerly of Manila, he was a retired farmer and member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Jonesboro. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Lee Miller, in 1988 and a daughter and a brother.

Survivors include two sons, Ralph "Bo" Miller of McCrory and Virgil Lee "Bud" Miller of Jonesboro; a sister, Cora Griffin of Manila; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be this afternoon at 1 at the Howard Funeral Service chapel in Manila, with Rev. William Piercy and Rev. Elvis Brandon officiating. Burial will follow at the Manila Cemetery.

Mrs. Taylor

Mrs. Bessie B. Taylor, 93, of LaPorte, Ind., formerly of Woodruff County, died Monday at the Stark Memorial Hospital in Knox, Ind. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Baptist Church in LaPorte.

Survivors include one son, William Taylor of Arlington, Texas; five daughters, Gladys Horton of Mountain Home, Ruie Taylor of Corpus Christi, Texas, Lottie Williamson of North Judson, Ind., Zelma Taylor of Las Vegas, Nev., and Eliza Bea Goad of Union Mills, Ind.; and several grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Taylor.

Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 2 at the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home chapel in McCrory. Burial will follow at Eight Mile Cemetery near Beedevile.

Visitation will be from 5 this afternoon to 7 this evening at the funeral home.

Weaver

J. R. Weaver, 81, of Sidney, died Tuesday at Sharp Nursing Home in Sidney.

He was a retired farmer and carpenter, and a member of Maxville Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Sharp Weaver of the home; five sons, Dale Weaver and Kendall Weaver, both of Batesville, Gale Weaver of Sulfur Rock, J. L. Weaver of Little Rock, and Robert Weaver of Cave City; three daughters, Syble Rogers of Evening Shade, Virble Bell of Cave City and Jalois Cox of Calico Rock; three brothers, Billy Joe Weaver of Little Rock, Arlis Ray Weaver of Newark and Donald Lee Weaver of Eureka Springs; three sisters, Nellie Goodwin of Cave City and Imogene Sharp and Bonnie Rainbolt, both of Newark; one stepsister, Beatrice Kimbrell of Newark; 30 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; two stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat-granchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, two stepbrothers, three sisters and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 2 at Maxville Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City, with J. L. Weaver and Grayden Milligan officiating. Burial will follow in the Eutopia Cemetery located west of Cave City with arrangements provided by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Visitation will be from 5 this afternoon until 8 this evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Faulkner

Graveside services for Mrs. Naomi Faulkner, 88, of Paragould, who died Tuesday at Arkansas Methodist Hospital, will be Friday morning at 10:30 at Linwood Cemetery in Paragould, with Rev. Mike Morey officiating.

Pallbearers will be Tom Wallace, Charles Wallace, Art Simpson, W. T. Shewmaker, Elwin Shewmaker and J. W. Gramling.

Born at Stanford, she was a self-employed hairdresser and worked for Roslyn's Dress Shop. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Paragould.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Wallace of Norman, Okla., and Tom Wallace of Nashville; one sister, Hazel Ragsdell of Walnut Ridge; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hurt Faulkner, and one grandson.

Visitation will be at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:15.

Mrs. Henry

Funeral services for Mrs. Gertie Henry, 73, of Beebe, who died Tuesday afternoon at the Beebe Retirement Center, will be Friday afternoon at 1:30 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, with Rev. Kenneth Doke officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro.

She was born in Anna, Ill., and lived in Trumann most of her life before moving to Beebe three years ago. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Jimmy Fritz Sr. of McRae; one sister, Bertie M. Hannon of Trumann; one granddaughter, two grandsons and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Henry; two sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be from 5 this afternoon until 8 this evening at the funeral home.

Myers

Clay Madison Myers, 85, of McCrory, died Tuesday at Central Arkansas Hospital in Searcy. He was a retired farmer and cattle buyer.

Survivors include his wife, Zella Elizabeth Fortune Myers of the home; one son, Thomas Clay Myers of Bedford, Texas; one daughter, Jana Sue Shirley of West Memphis; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10 in the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home chapel in McCrory, with Gary Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at Fakes Chapel Cemetery near McCrory.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.

The family requests that persons wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider a church or charity of the donor's choice.

Strickland

Douglas Reed Strickland, 57, of 1101 Franklin, Lake City, died Tuesday at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center of Jonesboro. A lifelong resident of Lake City, he was a retired farmer and truck driver. He was also retired from the Craighead County Solid Waste Authority. Additionally, he was a member of the Prairie Mission Baptist Church of Lake City, Promise Keepers, the Lake City Volunteer Fire Department and the Arkansas Sheriff's Boys and Girls Ranch.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma Sue Pollard of the home; four daughters, Bobbie Sue Hurst of Caraway, Becky Lynn Timms of Lake City, Jessica Nicole Strickland of Paragould and Dana Michelle Colton of Batesville; two sons, Douglas Reed Strickland Jr. of Paragould and Nathan Wayne Hogan of Caraway; one sister, Sheila Boling of Paragould; one brother, Bill Strickland of Lepanto; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Michal.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 at the Prairie Mission Baptist Church of Lake City, with David Scott and Larry Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Lower Cane Island Cemetery under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Active pallbearers will be Steve Travis, Mark Travis, McArthur Primm, Randy Couch, Randy Gipson, Darin Owens, Eldon Anderson and George Wright.

Honorary pallbearers will include Billy Anderson, Jimmy Fletcher, Wayne Neal, Garland Platz and members of the Bethabra Promise Keepers group.

Visitation will be held this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to the Arkansas Sheriff's Boys and Girls Ranch.

Clinton

Earnest J. Clinton, 79, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday at Rose Care Nursing Center in Jonesboro.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Coggins

Noble Archie Coggins, 73, of Salem, died Wednesday in Salem.

A painter, he served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.

Survivors include one son, Bobby Coggins of Tulsa, Okla.; three daughters, Patty Smith of White Oak, Texas, Debbie Kehrli of Cherokee Village and Gloria Denton of Longview, Texas; three sisters, Violet Humphries of Glencoe, Joan Hill of Monette and Mary Jane Martin of Batesville; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 in the chapel of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, with Bob Fielding officiating. Burial will be in the Agnos Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Bobby Coggins, Danny Earls, Trent Shipley, Jack Campbell Jr., William Smarr, Marvin England and Zachary Noble Coggins.

Honorary pallbearers will include Tommy Hollie, Charlie Estes, Delson Heasley, Thurl Harber, Russell Benton, Lloyd Moore, Jack Moore and Tommy Short.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Agnos Cemetery Association.
