Veda Moore-Taylor

Veda Moore-Taylor, 88, of Lonoke passed away April 17, 2004. She was a life-time member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death were her husband, William, who was the love of her life, her parents, Bud and Ola Moore, her six brothers and sisters, and two grandsons, Jimmie Don Taylor and Brent Lee Taylor.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her two sons and daughter in-laws: Jimmie G. and Rose Taylor and Lynn and Barbara Taylor, all of Lonoke; five grandchildren: Janet Taylor of Maumelle, Kim Taylor of Alexander, J.J. Taylor, Judy Bunker and husband Russ, and Shawn Taylor and wife Jennifer, all of Lonoke; five great grandchildren: Chase Bunker, Chelsi Bunker, Katlee Freasier, Haylee Loter, and Kelsie Taylor; a host of relatives and friends; and the caregivers at Cabot Manor Nursing Home.

Funeral Services were held Monday, April 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and burial was at Hicks Cemetery. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 18 at Cabot Funeral Home. Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.

H. Marchelle Kirk Thebeau, age 39, of Ward, died Friday, April 16, 2004. She was a member of Sylvania Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include Mark Thebeau; a brother Doug Kirk, Jr.; and a sister, Jeannette Boyles, both of Ward; her parents, Doug Kirk Sr. and Faye Kirk of Ward; and a grandmothers, Gladys Marshall and Christine Sharp.

Family received friends at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral wass 10 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2004, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Sylvania Cemetery.

Dorothy S. Osburn

Dorothy S. Osburn,, 87, born November 26, 1916 died April 12, 2004 in North Little Rock, AR. She was preceded in death by husband S.W. Osburn, 1 infant brother, 1 sister and parents Buck Self and Lizzie Mae Williams.

Survivors include her daughter Billie Yandell; Las Cruses, New Mexico, son Ray Taylor; Shawnee, OK; 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and good friends Pat Reid and Wanda Scaff. Dorothy was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Visitation was Thursday from 10-12 a.m. at Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Thursday, April 15 at Sylvania Cemetery. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.

Alton J. Walker

Alton J. “Slim” Walker, 80, of Hot Springs died Wednesday.
He was a retired automobile salesman.

Survived by son, Dale Walker of Cabot, and daughter, Carol Lusinger of Little Rock.

Memorial service was Saturday, Hot Springs Funeral Home.

Susan Himstedt

Susan Moran Himstedt, 69, of Lonoke died Monday, April 19, 2004. She was a devoted wife, mother and an excellent educator at the Lonoke Schools for many years. She will be dearly missed by all of the people whose lives she has touched.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Hickey H. Himstedt, Jr. of Lonoke; her four children: Lucy and husband, Don Richard of Evansville, Ind., Henry and wife Kim of Searcy, Michael of Lonoke, and Paul and wife Leslie of North Little Rock. She was loved by and known as “Su Su” to her six grandchildren: Heath, Hayley, Ashleigh, Anna, Matthew and Drew.

She is also survived by one sister and her husband, Luci and Bob Hall of Spring, Texas, one brother and his wife, Michael and Cathy Moran of Little Rock and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke on Wednesday, April 21 from 5-7 p.m. with a Rosary to be said at 7:30 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Rose Catholic Church in Carlisle on Thursday, April 22 at 11 a.m. with a burial at Oaklawn Cemetery in Little Rock. Memorials may be made in her honor to Catholic High School for Boys in Little Rock or to the American Red Cross.

Annette L. Harbison

Annette Louise Harbison, 77, died April 19, 2004. Survivors include her children, Linder Harbison, Jr. of Georgia, Douglas Harbison and Phyllis Patterson of West Helena, Jerrie Belcher and Faye Henderson of Carlisle, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Wednesday at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke with interment in Old Carlisle Cemetery.

Don E. Trickey

Don E. Trickey, 56, of Conway passed away on April 18 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born Nov. 23, 1947, in Little Rock, he was a graduate of North Little Rock High School. In 1966, he received awards for heroism from the National Red Cross and Carnegie Foundations and was named one of the nine most outstanding heroes by then President Lyndon B. Johnson and Esquire Magazine for saving the life of a North Little Rock woman from a frozen lake in Lakewood. He served two tours in Vietnam with the United States Naval Construction Battalion (or “Seabees”). He is the owner of Twin City Trailer Sales and Service in Little Rock and Texarkana, Twin City Transport Refrigeration, Bear Mountain Outfitters and Land Company, and Bear Mountain Trading Company. Don was also a director of the Arkansas Wildlife Federation, a member of First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock, and a former chairman of the Arkansas Motor Carriers Association. The pride of Don’s life is his family. He loved to hunt, fish, cook and travel with his friends and family. He also enjoyed coaching Little League baseball and Optimist Club football.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Vivian Rogers Trickey; a son, Bart Trickey, his wife Kelli; their sons, Ryan, Jacob, Kevin, and Tyler; a daughter, Michelle Trickey Kelly; her daughter, Hannah Grace Kelly, all of Conway; his brother, Cary Grant of Cabot; his father, Gene Trickey; his wife Dorothy Trickey of Little Rock; and his mother-in-law Virginia Rogers of North Little Rock. He is also survived by many friends and family members whom he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Elsworth Russell Trickey.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Make-A-Wish foundation, 2228 Cottondale Lane, Suite 300, Little Rock, Ark., 72202, (888)376-9474.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff on 3B at Baptist Springhill Medical Center for all their love, care and support.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock located at 6701 J.F.K. Blvd.
A military burial followed at Rest Hills Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock.

A.Z. Putt

A.Z. Putt, 78, Cabot, loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 17, 2004.
He was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church and retired from Missouri Pacific Truck Lines.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gladys (Turner) Putt; his children, Ricky Putt (Dorothy) of Cabot; Roger Anthony Putt, North Little Rock; Joy Thomas (Brent), Mechanicville, N.Y.; Janice Watson (Rick), El Paso, Ark.; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brothers, Cecil Putt, Hazen; Leonard Putt, Alta Loma, Calif.; sisters, Clara Ingle, Hazen, and Nadine Jay of Cambridge, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Leona Putt, and a brother, J.D. Putt.

Funeral service was Wednesday, April 21, at Cabot United Methodist Church with burial in Hickory Plains cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
Memorials may be made to the Cabot United Methodist Church at 2003 S. Pine, Cabot, Ark. 72023; or to the American Cancer Society, 901 N. University, Little Rock, Ark. 72207.

Delbert Ray Todd

Delbert Ray Todd, 53, of Cabot passed away April 8, 2004.
He was preceded in death by his father, Franky Todd.

He lived for his grandchildren and loved to hunt and fish. He was known as the “neighborhood daddy” to all the kids in Cabot.

Delbert is survived by his wife, Sherrie Todd; his daughter, Marisa, and her husband, David Conklin of Cabot; two grandchildren, Jacob Thomas and Zoe Rachelle Conklin of Cabot; his mother, Lorene Todd of Hugo, Okla.; two brothers, Ralph Todd of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ronnie Todd of Hugo, Ariz.; four sisters, Darlene Houser of Boswell, Okla., Marlene Robertson of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Delbert is also survived by his extended family, a great fishing buddy and brother-in-law, Larry Walla of Caddo Gap; his personal chauffeur and sister-in-law, Judy Williams of Alexander; friend and sister-in-law, Terrie Morelock of Benton; and his mother-in-law, Lois Walla of Bryant; and many nieces and nephews, aunts and numerous other relatives.

Funeral was Monday at Huson Funeral Home Chapel, Sherwood, with interment in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.

Helen L. Hampton

Helen Louise Hampton, 70, of North Little Rock died April 12, 2004.
She is survived by one brother, Garland Thompson of Searcy; and seven sisters, Freda Shy of Cabot, Edna Roberson of North Little Rock, Mary Sue Egner of Kansas City, Mo., Emma Ruth Wright of Hemmit, Calif., Barbara Ann Brock of Hattiesburg, Miss., Gladys Marie Heath, of Russellville, and Verla Mae Cowen of Atkins.

Graveside service was April 14, at New Hope Cemetery, Yell County, under the direction of Roller-Owens Funeral Home.

Beatrice Hill

Beatrice Hill, 86, of Canoga Park, Calif., died April 11, 2004.

She is survived by two sons Robert Harrell Hill, Canoga Park, Calif., and Richard C. Hill, Cabot; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was a longtime active member of Mobberly Avenue Baptist Church, Longview, Texas.

Graveside services were Thursday, April 15, at Lakeview Gardens, Texas.

Pamela Yandle

Pamela Yandle, 81, of Jacksonville died April 13, 2004.

Survivors include her six grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements provided by Griffin-Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home, North Little Rock.

Otheal B. Campbell

Otheal B. Campbell, age 84, of Cabot died Tuesday, April 13, 2004.
Survivors are two sons, one daughter, one sister, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was Friday, April 16, Hilltop Baptist Church, Cabot. Burial was in Sumner Cemetery under direction of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.
