Maye Malone Cooper
Maye Malone Cooper, 95, formerly of Austin, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, in Lawrenceville, Ga. She worked many years in ladies’ ready-to-wear for Dillard’s Department Store in Little Rock. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ in Cabot.
She is survived by one son, Gerald Cooper of Georgia; one great-grandson; two sisters, Wilma Malone of Austin and Lucy Sowell of Ward.
Funeral was Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Sylvania Cemetery.
Jacquelyn Sims-Smith
Jacquelyn L. Sims-Smith, 54, of North Little Rock died Feb. 9, 2005.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Smith Jr.; her mother, Dorothy Anderson Poole; son, Angelo Sims; daughters, Marlene Sims, Monica Sims, all of North Little Rock; five sisters, three brothers; four grandchildren.
Fuineral services will be Friiday, 11 a.m., at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Hazel & Broadway, North Little Rock. Family hour will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Hubble Funeral Home.
Ruth Christine Haney
Ruth Christine Haney, 91, of Jacksonville died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005. She was of Pentecost faith.
She is survived by one son, Johnny Haney of Sherwood; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; brother Edward Hall of Ward.
Funeral service was Thursday, Feb. 10 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home. Interment followed at Bayou Meto Cemetery, Jacksonville.
Robert F. King
Robert F. King, 71, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., formerly of Carlisle, died Feb. 7, 2005.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Carter King; two daughters, Gina and Karen; one son, Bruce; one brother, Sam King, of Memphis, Tenn.; and two sisters, Ferol Coats and Patsy Kittler, both of Carlisle.
Funeral services were held Feb. 11 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home, with Dr. Derek Staples officiating. Burial was at Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
O.E. Robinson
O.E. “Gene” Robinson, 70, of Arlington, Texas, died Jan. 9, 2005.
He was a retired self-employed insurance agent.
Survivors are his wife, Delores Coffelt Robinson of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Carlisle; two sons, Mike Robinson of Greenville, Texas and Greg Robinson of Rowlett, Texas; two sisters, Breva Scott of North Carolina and Mildred Wright of Arkansas; and six grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 11 at Lamar Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. Burial was at Moore Memorial Gardens.
Ruby L. Bates Fulmer
Ruby Lucille Bates Fulmer, age 89, of Cabot died Feb. 14, 2005. She was born Oct. 10, 1915 at Quitman. On March 7, 1936 she married Luther Fulmer in Cabot. Mrs. Fulmer wrote many years for the Mountain Springs Community News for the Cabot Star-Herald. She was a member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughter, Peggy Roach of Cabot; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cecil Bates of Mayflower, Joe Bates of Ward.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 at Mountain Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Don Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 17 at Cabot Funeral Home.
Cherie Mellow-Brooks
Cherie Denise Mellow-Brooks, 40, of Lonoke, died Feb. 5, 2005.
She is survived by her husband, Richy Brooks of Lonoke; sons, Austin Estes of Lonoke, Jason Brooks and Justin Brooks; daughters, Kristi Mayhew of Redfield and Danielle Mayhew of Lonoke; father, Richard Mellow of Magnolia; mother, Beverly Reece of Cabot; brother, Rick Mellow of Jonesboro; sister, Michelle Beck of Memphis, TN.
A memorial service was held at Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood.
Memorials may be made to Camp Aldersgate in Little Rock.
Reba Jean Collier
Reba Jean Collier, 88, of Cabot, died Feb. 6, 2005.
She attended Mt. Springs Baptist.
She is survived by son, James W. Barnes of Cabot; sisters, Mildred L. Grave of Bigelow, and Ann Pendergraft of Jacksonville; brother, Lester Barnes of California; two grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 11, at Mt. Springs Baptist Church with Dr. J. Roland Spears officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Springs Cemetery.
Zeola Ollison
Zeola Ollison, 84, of North Little Rock died Feb. 6, 2005.
She is survived by son, James Kenneth Ferrell of North Little Rock; and sister, Dorothy Anderson of Carlisle.
Services were held Feb. 12, at First Baptist Church.
Henry Carl Hooper
Henry Carl Hooper of Lonoke died Feb. 6, 2005.
He is survived by Rebecca Weeks, Meleisa Hooper of Lonoke; two grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters all of Alabama.
Memorial services were held Feb. 12, at Word of Life Church in Ward.

Cleveland Washington
Cleveland “Beaver” Washington, Sr., 90, of Lonoke, died Feb. 7, 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Rubie Lee Washington; children, Richard, Cleveland, Boris Washington, Bobby Moragne, Rosemary Turner, Carrie, Tolbert, and Tejuana Johnson; sister, Georgia Sabbs; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 12 at Union Valley Baptist Church, by Rev. Johnston.
Paul Allen Rice
Paul Allen Rice, 41, of Carlisle, died Feb. 8, 2005.
He was a dispatcher for the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department.
Rice is survived by his mother, Mildred Rice; brother, Mark Rice; and sister, Cheryl Ballard.
Funeral services were held Feb. 11, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Carlisle with burial in the Carlisle Cemetery.
James Alexander, Sr.
James Willis Alexander Sr. “Shag,” 56, of Rose Bud, died on Feb. 9, 2005.
He served in the U.S. Army and retired after 32 years of service from Union Pacific Railroad.
He is survived by his wife, Margie; daughter, Jamie; sons, James Jr., Jason and Brandon; father, B.W. Alexander; six grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers.
Services were held at on Feb. 12, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Crumpton officiating.
Interment followed at Grissard Cemetery
in El Paso.
