Ilene P. Gray

Ilene P. Gray, 91, of Milan, IL, died April 6, 2005.
She was a LPN for Visiting Nurses and a member of Memorial Christian Church in Rock City, IL.

Suvivors include her daughter, Barbara Milligan of Milan, IL; son, James N. Gray of Ward; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service was held April 15, at Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Rachel Marie Paul

Rachel Marie Paul, 21, of Texarkana, formerly of Cabot, died March 29, 2005.

She was a 2001 graduate from Cabot High School.
She is survived by her mother, Stephanie Ann Paul of the home.
Memorial services were held Sat., April 16, 2005 at Living Waters Church in Cabot.

Margaret Y. Thompson

Margaret Yvonne Thompson, 62, of Little Rock, died April 13, 2005.
Survivors include her sons, Kelly Griffin of Cabot, and Randy Griffin of Fort Smith; and brother Don Griffin of Cabot.
A private memorial service was pending.

Willie Odell Watkins

Willie Odell Watkins, 89, of Jacksonville, died April 16, 2005.
She was a member of Marshall Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
Survivors include daughters, Avis Twitty of Jacksonville, Mary Creamer of Cabot, and Sue Wiginton of Gardendale, AL; sister, Earline Young of Mobile, AL; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held, April 18, at Marshall Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville.

Interment was in Hamilton Memory Gardens, in Hamilton, AL.

James E. Fiser

James E. “Bud” Fiser, 72, of Alexander, died April 16, 2005.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War, was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Benton and was the founder and owner of Fiser’s Truck and Tractor.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Fiser; children, James Dee Fiser of Benton, Vicki Hall of Cabot, Joy Simmons of Alexander, Gayle Lavender of Little Rock, and Lisa Zakrzewski of Alexander; brother, Charles Fiser of North Little Rock; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services were held, April 18, in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Forest Hills in Alexander and burial followed at Forest Hills Memorial Park.

Charles U. Ball

Charles U. Ball, 58, of Mabelvale, died April 13, 2005.
He retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service and worked seven years as a parts distributor for Tyson in Pine Bluff.

He is survived by his wife, Deane Ball; her children, Tom Brown, Dan Brown, Jerry Brown, Leigh Cross, all of Cabot, and Debra Moore of Shannon Hills; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his children, Michael Ball of North Carolina, Noel Lane, and Mindy Ball, both of Virginia, Tim Ball of Mabelvale; sister, Pat Cramer of Ohio; and brother, George Ball of New York.

Memorial services were held April 16 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.

Alma Carrie Self

Alma Carrie Self, 86, of Jacksonville, died April 13, 2005.
She was a retired inspector for the Tuff Nutt clothing company after 32 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville for nearly 45 years and more recently a member of Bayou Meto Baptist Church for the past 17 years.

Survivors include sons, Glenn D. Self of California and Carroll L. Self of Hot Springs, and a daughter, Barbara Self of Cabot; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 16 in the Chapel of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home. Burial was in Morris Chapel Cemetery in Waveland.

Charles C. Wooten

Charles Crawford Wooten, 78, of Higginson, died April 15, 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Charles Edward and daughter, Karren Crawford Brock both of Vilonia; sisters, Laverne Head of Beebe, and Betty Staggs of Shirley; step-daughters, Carol Gilmore of Dallas, TX, and Benita Blake of Ocean Springs, MS; step-sons, Frank Cicero, Jr., of Newport, WA, and Fred Cicero of Little Rock; one granddaughter of Jacksonville; one grandson of Cabot; and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wed., April 20, at the Higginson First Baptist Church with interment following at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot.

Anna Sarah Hawkins

Anna Sarah Hawkins, 78, of Carlisle, died April 18, 2005.
She is survived by her son, Gerry Lawman of DeValls Bluff; brother, John Joseph Mertens of Beebe; siter, Ruth Brooks of Missouri; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wed., April 20, at Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Hazen with burial in the Hazen Cemetery.

J.D. Kerr

J.D. Kerr, 81, of Carlisle, died April 17, 2005.
He was the owner/operator of Custom Trophies, Inc., in Little Rock, of the Baptist faith, a 32nd Degree Mason, a Shriner, and a decorated Army veteran.

He is survived by his daughters, Debra Kerr Waddle and Betty Kerr Collier; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 8:30 a.m., Wed., April 20, in the Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.

Rachel M Waters

Rachel M. Waters, 87, formerly of Carlisle, died April 11, 2005.
She is survived by her daughters, Betty Jones of Arkadelphia, and Carol Petersen of Arlington, WA; brother John Kelly of Carlisle; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Ginger A. Putnam

Ginger Amaden Putnam, age 67 of Oceanside, Calif. died April 9, 2005.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Putnam; mother, Nell Amaden of Lonoke; sons, Bill Bartlett, Marcus Putnam of Newport News, VA, and Tony Putnam of Lowell; daughter, Holly Putnam of Oceanside, Calif.; brothers, Howard Amaden of Lonoke and Joe Amaden of West Monroe, La., and six grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2005 at Lonoke Cemetery, arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home.

Betty Ruth Phillips

Betty Ruth Phillips, 66, of Ward, passed away Monday, April 18, 2005. Betty was born October 2, 1939 in Cherry Valley, Arkansas. She was a devoted wife and mother. She is preceded in death by her husband, George W. Phillips; sisters, Edith Jones and Earlene Carter; parents, Earl and Mable Catt.

She is survived by her only son and daughter, Wendell William Phillips and Devona Dora Caples and her husband Howard; two grandchildren, Jillian and Aaron Caples of Austin; brothers, Casey Catt and wife Kathey; George Catt; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2005, at Ward Methodist Church followed by interment in Old Austin Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home (501)843-5816.
