Emilie A. Pennington
Emilie Ardella “Ella” McDougald Pennington, 89, of Crossett, died May 8, 2005. She was a homemaker, and a member of Magnolia Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Bobby Pennington of Dallas, TX; daughters, Anna Ruth Venters of Benton, Bertha Warner of Pine Bluff, and Jackie Ramthun of Crossett; brothers, Billy McDougald of Cabot, and Lester McDougald of Sulphur, LA; sisters, Elvie Clark of Crossett, Gladys Creed and Lela Cunningham, both of Bastrop, LA; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services was held on May 10 at Magnolia Baptist Church.
Interment followed at Pinewood Memorial Park in Crossett.

William E. Anderson
William E. Anderson, formerly of Little Rock, died May 7, 2005, in Houston, TX. He served in the U. S. Army, touring in Vietnam. He owned Anderson Floor Covering for 16 years.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Houston; stepdaughter, Sarah Martin of Houston; parents, Darrell and Robbie Anderson of Little Rock; sister, Martha Gangluff of Roland; brother, Bobby Anderson of Little Rock; sister, Debbie Staton of Cabot; and one grandchild.

Services were held May 12, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Chapel in Little Rock. Burial with military honors followed at Keo Cemetery. Memorials may be made in honor of William to The Stehlin Foundation for Cancer Research, 1315 St. Joseph Parkway, Suite 1818, Houston, TX 77002.

William Fletcher II
Dr. William Thomas “Billy” Fletcher II, age 57 of Lonoke died Thursday at home. He was born to the late Dr. William Thomas Fletcher and his mother Christine N. Fletcher on March 3, 1948. Bill was a graduate of Lonoke High School and attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1974. Bill served as a Captain in the United States Army for two years at Fort Belvoir, Arlington, VA. In 1977, he joined his father’s dental practice in Little Rock.

Bill was a dedicated and appreciated professional and community leader. He was a devoted member of the Lonoke School Board and the Lonoke United Methodist Church where he served as one of the teachers of adult Sunday School. He was a past president of Arkansas Academy of General Dentistry and also past president of the Central District of the Arkansas State Dental Association. He was a 30 year member of the American Quarter Horse Association and a highly respected foundation quarter horse breeder.

His greatest love in life was sharing the fun and excitement of his children’s athletic and academic events. Bill coached youth for 20 years. The loss of his optimism, laughter and strong moral character will be felt by us all. The world is a better place because of Billy.

He is survived by his wife Julia Williams Fletcher; daughter Julianne Williams Fletcher; son, William Presley Fletcher III; brother, Richard Presley Fletcher, mother, Christine N. Fletcher, all of Lonoke and one cousin, Mrs. Gay N. “Ann” Holloway of New Hope, Pennsylvania.

The funeral was Sunday, May 15 at 2:00 at the Lonoke Methodist Church by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke. Burial followed at Lonoke Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lonoke United Methodist Church.

Peggy J. Mulligan
Peggy Jean Mulligan, 69, of Cabot, died May 9, 2005.
She was a homemaker and a member of Michigan Avenue Baptist Church in Roswell, NM.

She is survived by her husband, James Mulligan; seven children, Michael J. Mulligan of Hutto, TX, Sandra L. Mulligan and Patrick E. Mulligan both of North Little Rock, Terrence K. Mulligan of Clovis, N.M., Timothy K. Mulligan and Steven Mulligan both of Jacksonville, and Anthony D. Mulligan of Vilonia; brothers Ronald Rogers of Roswell, and Jackie Roger of Aztec, N.M.; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held May 11 in the Cabot Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment followed in the Sumner Cemetery in Cabot.

John D. Bone
John D. Bone, 83, of Maumelle died May 10, 2005.
He is the widower of Barbara Bone.

He is survived by three sons, Johnie Dale Bone of Maumelle, Denis Lucas of North Little Rock, and Charlie Bone of Maumelle; a daughter, Cindy Bishop of Mayflower; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, James R. Bone of Monticello and Paul D. Bone of Sheridan; and sisters, Clara Mae Raper of Lonoke and Louise Chambers of California City, Calif.

Graveside service was Thursday at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery Pavilion by North Little Rock Funeral Home.

Danny Mac Brown
Danny Mac Brown, age 48, died May 15, 2005. He is survived by his parents, Stuart and Nancy Brown of Lonoke; children, Kimberly Booker of Benton, Danny Brown, Jr. and Laura Durnal of North Little Rock, Amanda Brown of California and Mary Brown of Little Rock; brothers, Tony Brown of Cabot, Bruce Brown of Austin; one sister, Gale DeBord of Lonoke and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke with interment in New Hope Cemetery.

Luther Rhodes, Sr.
Luther David Rhodes, Sr., 79, of Lonoke died away on May 13, 2005.
Survivors include his children Luther and Charles Rhodes, Joyce Rhodes all of Lonoke, Kay Anderson, Michigan; Loyce Brand, North Little Rock; and Martha Barnhart, Carlisle; brother Thomas Joseph Rhodes Jr., of Mayflower; sisters Lorene Caton, Lonoke and Elizabeth Rhodes of Scott. 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Services were Tuesday May 17 in Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke, with interment in Hicks Cemetery.

Forest Balding Jr.
Forest Bedford Balding Jr., 69, of Floyd died recently.
He was a retired teacher at Cotton Plant High School. He retired from the U.S. Army and from the Arkansas State Health Department.

Survivors are his wife, Rose Baldwin; sons, Harvey and Forest; three grandchildren; a sister, Alice Kirkland.

Funeral was May 17 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe, with burial in Slyvania Cemetery.

Aileen Tarter Cox
Aileen Tarter Cox, 84, of England, died Sunday, May 15, 2005.
She was born March 6, 1921, in Carlisle, and was a member of First United Methodist Church of England.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Roy Cox; son, Alan Cox of West Memphis; daughter, Phyllis Parnell of Warren; brother, Gordon Tarter; sister, Sue Turner; brother, Gayle Tarter; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Carlisle Cemetery. Roller-England Funeral Home was in charge.

Memorials preferred to First United Methodist Church in England.

Bessie M. Adams
Bessie Marie Thompson Adams, 96, widow of Delphia Daniel Adams, died May 9, 2005.

She is survived by four daughters, Shirley Redman of Monroe, La., Della Guild of Jacksonville, Linda Baker of Gloucester, Mass., Janet Demskie of Jacksonville; 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were May 14, 2005, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Jacksonville with interment at Bayou Meto Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Memorials may be made to St. Labre Indian School and National Wildlife Federation.

Russell Patterson
Russell Patterson, 76, of North Little Rock died May 7, 2005.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Willine D. Patterson; four children, Pam Clark of Lonoke, Karen Pitcher of North Little Rock, Jimmy Patterson of North Little Rock, and Teresa of Riverside, Calif.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Funeral services were May 13, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills. Cremation Interment to follow at a later date.

James ‘Rick’ Kerr
James “Rick” Kerr, 55, of North Little Rock died May 10, 2005.
He worked at Union Pacific Railroad as a conductor for 37 years. He was an Eagle Scout. He was a lifetime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, St. Patrick’s Men’s Club and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by Tricia, his wife of 29 years; a daughter, Jamie Kerr of Little Rock; son, Justin Kerr; brother, Terry Kerr, both of North Little Rock; two sisters, Paula Mizell of Little Rock and Jane Harris of Cabot.
Memorials may be made in his honor to Catholic High School or the American Cancer Society.

Mass of Christian burial was held Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial was in Rest Hills Memorial Park. North Little Rock Funeral Home was in charge.

Doris R. Johnson
Doris Rodgers Johnson, 74, of Jacksonville, died May 3, 2005 in Ventura, Calif. She was born in Des Arc in 1930.

Survivors include her son, David Johnson of West Union, S.C.; daughter, Donna Hunt of Port Hueneme, Calif.; one granddaughter; a sister, Alice Isgrig of Little Rock.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville, where she was a member, on May 21. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville, 1208 West Main St., Jacksonville, Ark. 72206 or the Arthritis Foundation.

Alfred Blevins Jr.
Alfred Alexander Blevins Jr., 63, of Cabot died Sunday.
Survivors: wife, Shirley of Cabot; son, Alfred Alexander Blevins III; sister, Diane Blevins; brothers - Michael and Gary Blevins.

Memorial services were Friday at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Chapel.

Ruth E. Price
Ruth E. Price, age 92, of McRae, died May 10, 2005.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Colbert of Beebe and Naomi Hart of Lonoke; one son, Davy Price of Palestine, Texas; one brother, Bill Thornton of North Little Rock; one sister, Francis Spinelli of North Little Rock; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral was Saturday at Westbrook Funeral Home with burial in Weir Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to McRae Church of Christ, McRae, Ark. 72102
