Minnie Marie Lott
Minnie Marie Wilson Lott, 91, of Lonoke, died May 26, 2005.
She was a member of the New Testament Missionary Baptist Church of Lonoke for many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Avaline McCann of Lonoke; sons, Leonard Lott of Hazen, James Lott of Greenbrier, Luther Lott of Lonoke, and John B. Lott of North Little Rock; sister, Lorene Harris of Conway; 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held May 28 at New Testament Missionary Baptist Church with burial following in Concord Cemetery.

Willis E. Baxter
Willis E. “Bud” Baxter, 67, of Little Rock died May 25, 2005.
He was a retired printer for Arkansas Graphics, an employee of 50 years for War Memorial Stadium as a parking coordinator and superintendent, a member of Calvary Nazarene Church in Little Rock and a former member of the Arkansas Air National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Baxter of Little Rock; sons Steven Baxter of North Little Rock and Chris of Cabot; daughter, Sharon Santistevan of Navarre, FL; stepsons Terry Davis of Roland and Gerry Davis, of Bradenton, FL; sister, Mary Yett, of Ontario, CA; mother, Loise M. Baxter of Little Rock; and 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held May 28 at Calvary Nazarene Church. Burial followed in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Velma Roberts
Velma Roberts, 81, of Austin, died May 20, 2005.
She was retired from Franklin Electric after 30-plus years.
Survivors include her daughters, Lillie Anne Gibson of Vanceboro, N.C., and Helen Loraine Earles of Austin; sons, Gary Lynn Roberts Sr. of Sherwood, and Billy Ray Roberts of Kansas City, MO; brother, Buddy Fortner of Lovington, NM; sisters, Dorothy Woods of Little Rock, Margaret Betts of Hobbs, N.M., Alice Smith of Monticello, and Ann Williams of Jacksonville; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held May 23 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Carol F. Young

Carol Franklin Young, 90, of Carlisle, died May 21, 2005.
He was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church. He was a lifelong farmer. He was founder of Babe Ruth baseball in Carlisle, where he coached for over 20 years. For his dedication to baseball and youth, a field was named in his honor, Carol Young Field at Rockefeller Park.
Survivors include his daughters, Betty Flo Elder and Sandra Hart of Carlisle, Barbara Hamric of Hazen, and Sherry Barbee of Gilmer, TX; John Hart of Carlisle; a twin brother, Harold Young of DeWitt; sister, Hazel Thomas of Nashville; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held May 23, at Carlisle First United Methodist Church with interment in Carlisle Cemetery.

William Alberson Sr.
William Robert “Bill” Alberson, Sr., of Humnoke, died May 25, 2005.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Rowes Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Betty Alberson of Humnoke; sons, Robert Alberson, Larry Alberson and Randy Alberson all of Humnoke; daughter, Janie Carter of Humnoke; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 28, at Rowes Chapel Baptist Church and burial followed in the Hamilton Cemetery in Humnoke. Memorials may be made to Rowes Chapel Baptist Church.

Lois Ann McElyea
Lois Ann McElyea, 61, of Cabot, died May 27, 2005.
She was of the Baptist Faith.

She is survived by her husband, David McElyea of Cabot; daughter, Connie Sue Knight of Cabot; sons, Randy McElyea of Maumelle and Allen McElyea of Sherwood; sisters, Esther Bryant of Rosebud and Carolyn Robinson of Lafayette, IN; half brothers, Joe Braswell and Sammy Braswell both of Arkadelphia and Jessy Braswell of Newport; half sisters, Patricia Braswell and Dorothy Braswell both of Beebe and Shirley Braswell of Arkadelphia; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held May 31 at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Sumner Cemetery.

Vernon J. Sutton
Vernon Julius Sutton, 73, of Carlisle, died May 28, 2005.
He is survived by his son, Jay Sutton; daughter, Gail Calhoun; brothers, Gary and Larry Sutton of Mountain View.

Funeral services will be Thurs. June 2, at Bowerman Funeral Home in Eau Claire, MI, with burial in Eau Claire cemetery.

Huey H. Gibbs

Huey Hamilton Gibbs, born August 10, 1935 to Guy and Ella Gibbs, claimed his new healthy body on August 14, 2005. Huey was a member of New Testament Missionary Baptist Church in Lonoke where he served as a deacon, trustee, and member of the Building Committee. He was also formerly a Sunday school teacher and choir director. With Freddie at his side, he founded Gibbs Services Company, Inc., a commercial HVAC service company in February of 1971. Due to his dedication, innovation and commitment to excellence, along with his Lord as a moral compass, his company grew into one of the largest independent service companies in the area. He was a lifetime member of ASHRAE, and a proud member of Local 155 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union where he served on the Apprenticeship Committee for over 20 years. Huey’s unwavering commitment to his co-workers and customers has set a standard unequaled in the HVAC business community. An unassuming man that was thankful to God for his many blessings, all that met him came to know his generosity and devotion to his family and church. Huey had a great love for playing basketball, boasting of a one inch vertical leap, and fishing. Huey and Freddie logged thousands of miles in their motor home, visiting 49 states and enjoying each other’s company. If you knew Huey, you knew his love. He will be missed by many. God’s speed. He is survived by his wife and partner of 50 years, Freddie, four devoted children, Karla and husband Gary Ward, Mark and wife Leisa, Paul and wife Karen, and Tonya and husband Tony Beeler, all of Lonoke. Missing their granddaddy are nine grandchildren, Kristi, Tamra, Shayne, Allison, Andrew, Sarah, Storm, Tyler, and Ella. Also sad are two great-grandchildren, Claudia and Ethan. Also grieving is one brother, Don and wife Betty of Choctaw and a host of extended family and friends.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 10:30 a.m., at New Testament Missionary Baptist Church with interment in Lonoke Cemetery. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke. Memorials can be made to Lonoke New Testament Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund.

The family would like to thank the Springhill Baptist Hospital CCU nursing staff for the excellent care provided. Also a special thank you to pastors Doug Hambrick and Robert Francis.

Ronald W. Miller

Ronald W. Miller, age 56, died August 11, 2005. Ronnie was a deacon and life long member of Steele Bridge Baptist Church. He was an 18 year employee of J.B. Hunt Transport and was a veteran of United States Marine Corp during Vietnam.

Survivors include He leaves wife of 36 years, Rita; sons, Raymond of England and Dewayne of Lonoke; one brother, Jerry Marilyn of Carlisle; a sister, Shelby Daryl Clement of Furlow; three grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sunday at Lonoke Baptist Church with burial in Lonoke Cemetery, arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Steele Bridge Church, Lonoke or Hospice Home Care, 2200 South Bowman Rd, Little Rock.

Katherine Ferguson

Katherine Ferguson, 84, of Lonoke, died on Aug. 14, 2005.She was a member of the Lonoke Eastern Star and New Testament Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her son David Ferguson of Lonoke. Services were Tuesday, Aug. 16. Interment followed in Hazen Cemetery. Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home.

Allen R. Lindsey, Jr.

Allen Richard Lindsey, Jr., age 49, of Cabot, died Aug. 8, 2005.
Survivors include his son Allen Richard Lindsey, III of Marion Junction, Ala.; mother Allie Mae Walls Lindsey; sister Nancy Houle of Cabot.

Memorial services were Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005 at Aubrey Baptist Church in Aubrey with Rev. Charles Flowers officiating. Family requests memorials be made to Aubrey Baptist Church or to Spring Creek Living Center in Cabot. Arrangements by Thomas Funeral Service.

James P. Foster

James Presley Foster, age 65, of Ward, died Aug. 10, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Lois Foster; four sons, James Foster, Jr. of Rowlett, Texas, Aaron Foster and Jason Foster, both of McRae, and Benjamin Foster of Beebe; four daughters, Wilma Rascoe of Velvet Ridge, Sheena Williams of Possum Grape, Rita Brooks of Rusk, Texas and Juditt Whitt of McRae; four stepchildren, Sharon Lovett of Floyd, Caroll Barnett of Baton Rouge, La., Eddie Barnett and Laura Reynolds, both of McRae; twenty-three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, JoAnn Fowler of Searcy and Carolyn Trefethen of Wichita, Kan.; and seven brothers, Johnny Foster of Higginson, Cecil Foster of Savannah, Ga., Jerry Don Foster of McRae, Roger Foster of Ga., Jimmy Foster of Searcy, Ricky Foster of Little Rock and Frankie Stevens of Higginson.

Funeral was Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Old Austin Cemetery.

Robert J. Dorlaque

Robert James Dorlaque, age 72, of Cabot, died Aug. 12, 2005.
Survivors include three daughters: Lana McClain of Sherwood, Sandy Todd of Florence, Ore., and Barbara Anderson of Orem, Utah; one son, Robert Allen Dorlaque of Cabot; one sister, Mary Murphy of St. Charles, Mo.; four brothers: Glen and Virgil Dorlaque of St. Louis, Mo. and Al Dorlaque of Deming, N.M.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Charles, Mo., with interment following at Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis. Local arrangements by Thomas Funeral Service.

Billy O. McGee

Billy O. McGee, age 73, died Aug. 8, 2005. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and had owned a Farm Equipment business for 31 years.
Survivors include his wife Rose Pickett McGee; three sons, Billy Kirk McGee, Bobby Kent McGee and Gregory Keith McGee, all of Lonoke; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Doyne McGee of Lonoke, Carthal McGee of Texas, Carroll McGee of Ward and Dale McGee of North Little Rock.

Graveside services were 10 a.m. Thursday at Lonoke Cemetery, arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.

Paul M. Wiens

Paul M. Wiens, 30, of Cabot, died Aug. 13, 2005.
Paul is survived by his father, John F. Wiens of Cabot; three siblings, Jackie Wiens of Cabot, John C. Wiens of Lonoke and Carolyn Monroe of Nolanville, Texas.

There will be a memorial service held on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church on Mt. Tabor Road in Cabot at 11 a.m., with Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home in charge.

The family requests that donations be made to the Dr. Robert E. Elliott Foundation, 113 Emerald Drive, Searcy, Arkansas, 72143, or any charity of their choice.

Callie V. Baker

Callie Vivian Smith Baker, 80, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005 at Chambers Nursing Home, Carlisle, where she had been a resident since May 2005. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Hazen, and retired from Remington Arms, Lonoke.

She is survived by two sons, Eddie Baker, Lonoke, and Billy Baker, Morrilton; two daughters, Rita “Bunni” Carroll, Little Rock, and Carolyn O’Brian, Champaign, Ill; four sisters, Ruth Woods, Carlisle, Chris Weems and Hazel Swilley, Hazen, and Jane Head, Keller, Texas.

Funeral services were Aug. 17 at Hamilton Baptist Church with burial in Hamilton Cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home, Hazen. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 565, Hazen, or Hamilton Baptist Chaurch, c/o Bonita Huey, 1152 Old Piney Wood Rd., Carlisle, AR 72024.
