Mona Love

Mona Love, of Quitman, died Aug. 28, 2005.
She is survived by her son, Paul Brocking of Rison; daughters, Cherie Aaron of Quitman, Barbara Roush of Lonoke and Melody Manes of Star City; brother, Willis Conrad of Manchester, IA; sisters, Marian Saunders of Des Moines, IA, Margaret Sankey of San Angelo, TX; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services was held Aug. 31 at the Cleburne County Baptist Church. Burial was in the Dark Corner Cemetery near Gould. Arrangements were by the Heber Springs Funeral Home.

Nigel Ralph Gilbey

Nigel Ralph Gilbey, 43, of Sherwood, died Aug. 29, 2005.
He was in the construction business.

He is survived by his children, Ashleigh, and Chloe Gilbey of Cambridge, England, and Hayden Gilbey of Cabot; mother; Joan Audrey Cook of Sherwood; father, Ralph Gilbey of Cambridge, England; sisters, Lynne Maltby of England, Sandra Hardman of England, Jane Winningham of Texas, and Kerrie Lecompte of Georgia.

A memorial service was held Sept. 4 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home.

Khaled J. Cooper

Khaled Jerome “K.C.” Cooper, 40, of died Aug. 30, 2005.
He was a cross-country truck driver for several years.

He is survived by four children, Khaled Xavier, Kalynn, Kyra and Jessie; fiancee, Wanda Phillips of Russellville; father and stepmother, Roy and Peggi Cooper of Bradford; brothers, Keith Cooper of Mabelvale, Trey Cooper of Jackson, TN, and Robbie Cooper of Puerto Rico; sisters, Donna Weatherford and Tina Lawrence of Jacksonville, Vivian Roberts of Cabot, Kim Jimerson of Searcy, Karen Horton of Dover, DE, and Kelli Shaw of Bradford.

A private memorial service was held by the family on Sept. 3, at Batesville.

Lois Juanita Kerr

Lois Juanita Kerr, 70, of North Little Rock, died Aug. 31, 2005. She retired from Remington Arms of Lonoke as well as Sears Roebuck in the McCain Mall.
Survivors include her brother, Billy D. Laywell of Perryville; children, Marvin D. Chisum of Lake Dallas, TX, Tony D. Chisum of El Paso, Terri A. Kerr Farris of North Little Rock, and Phillip D. “Danny” Kerr of Beebe; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church of Levy on Sat., Sept. 10. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Hospice Center, 5600 West 12 th. Street, Little Rock, Ark., 72204, in memory of Lois Juanita Kerr.
Arrangements by Roller-Owens Funeral Home, North Little Rock (791-7400).

Charles Busby

Charles “Tommy” Busby, 53, of Cabot, Arkansas, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005. He was a musician and gardener.

He is survived by two sons, Kenny Busby and Lance Busby and wife Rene all of Austin; brother, James Busby and wife Pat of Cabot; sister, Jackie Goodwin and husband, Otis of Cabot; nieces, Shanna Busby and Denise Sword and husband Mark; nephews, Brett Busby, Bradley Busby, Allen Tucker and wife Mona, David Tucker and wife Tanya; great-nephews, Blake Busby, Mark and Mallory Sword, Heather and Bradley Tucker and Jacob Tucker.

Funeral was 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at Austin Church of Christ with burial in Sylvania Cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.

Eulean Dorrell

Eulean Dorrell, 88, of England, died Sept. 4, 2005. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis Dorrell of Alexander, Kenneth Dorrell of North Little Rock, Ed Dorrell of Little Rock, and Jimmy Dorrell of Monroe, LA; sisters, Alma Knight and Geneva Fielder, both of Lonoke; 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wed., Sept. 7, at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements by Griffin Leggett Rest Hills.

Thomas Gradberg

Thomas Roger Gradberg, 57, of Fairfield Bay, died on Sept. 3, 2005.
He is survived by his sister, Jan Stewart of Lonoke; and brother, Mark Gradberg of Kankakee, IL.

Visitation was at Boyd Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Sept. 6 at the Kirk of the Hills in Fairfield Bay. Interment will be Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. in Joliet, IL.

Norman Matthews

Norman Benton “Matt” Matthews, 69, of Little Rock died Sept. 4, 2005. Matt graduated from Vilonia High School. He joined the U.S. Air Force, served in Japan and was a Korean War veteran before being medically discharged in 1964. He was of the Baptist Faith, an ordained Deacon, and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Bland Matthews of Little Rock; sister, Dorothy Nooner of Conway; daughter. Julie Kent of Jacksonville; sons, Thomas Edward Matthews of Little Rock, Robert Neal Matthews of Jacksonville and Charles Matthews of Little Rock; step-daughters, Pam Treece and Kim Lingo; three grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Salem Cemetery in the East End Community. The family will receive friends from 4 ro 8 p.m. Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home.

Audrey Plez Jones

Audrey Plez “Shorty” Jones, 91, of Jacksonville, died Aug. 31, 2005.
Survivors include his daughter, Treva Mogish of Jacksonville; son, Audrey E. Jones of Cabot; two sisters; one brother; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Fri., Sept. 2, at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Royce Lowe officiating. Interment followed in the Arkansas Memorial Gardens in North Little Rock.

Darrell Dean Moon

Darrell Dean Moon (TSgt USAF Ret.), 68, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005. He served in the Air Force Fire Department and retired after 22 years of service; he worked for the Pulaski County Special School District 9 years; and he retired from the City of Jacksonville Parks and Recreation in 1998 after 7 years of service. He was a life member of VFW Post 4548.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; brother, Ronald from Dayton; sons Richard Moon, St. Petersburg, FL, Michael Szafranski, Searcy, and John Szafranski, Cabot; daughters Christine Earley of Ward, Catherine Bennefield, Lehigh Acres, Fl, Karin Griffin, Valdosta, GA, Elizabeth Strackbein, Orlando, FL, Deborah Moore, Cabot, Jennifer Minton, Searcy; 12 grandchidlren.

Funeral services were Friday in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Rest Hills with Chaplin Joe Paul Bratton of the Jacksonville Fire Department officiating. Burial followed in Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Otha E. Jones

Otha E. Jones, 95, of Cabot died Sept. 8, 2005 in North Little Rock. Mr. Jones was a member of First Baptist Church in Cabot where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and board member of the Carolina Baptist Association for 29 years. He was a member of Gideons International and the secretary and treasurer for Mt. Carmel Cemetery over 20 years. Mr. Jones also worked at the Defense Plant in Jacksonville during WW II, and was a dairyman, carpenter, farmer, and assistant manager for Knight’s groceries for 13 years.

He is survived by three children, J.L. (Peggy) Jones of DeQueen, Ina Sue Hill of Cabot, and Mary Lillian Taylor of Ward; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 12, 2005 at the First Baptist Church, Cabot with Bro. Harold O’Bryan and Dr. Dennis Phelps officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery by Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International or the First Baptist Church, Cabot Building Fund.

Nancy Florene Holt

Nancy Florene Holt, age 67, of Cabot, died Sept. 6, 2005. She attended an Assembly of God Church and she loved to play bingo at the church for charities. Nancy loved the outdoors where she would hunt and fish.

She is survived by four children, James Holt of Cabot, Dennis Holt of Branson, MO., Regina Stokes of Lonoke, and Shelly Holt of Maumelle; four brothers, Virgil Rieathbaum of Hobbs, N. M., Donald Rieathbaum of Conway, Jerry Rieathbaum of Harrisburg, Carthy Rieathbaum of Conway; three sisters, Christine Steele of Cabot, Katherine Depriest of Harrisburg, Evelyn Thomas of Harrisburg; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Wednesday, at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home. Second visitation was Friday at Emerson’s Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro. Funeral services were Sept.10, at Emerson’s Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro. Burial followed at Holley Springs Cemetery in Harrisburg.
