Maudie Eubanks

Maudie Eubanks, 93, of Morrilton, formerly of Cabot, died October 12, 2005. She was born in Emmet, Arkansas on April 29, 1912 to Albert and Artie DeLoach Webb. Ms. Eubanks was a homemaker and a former member of First Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, the late Byron Eubanks.
Maudie is survived by one son, Roger and his wife Laura Eubanks of Morrilton, AR; three grandchildren, Brian Eubanks of Morrilton, AR, Brent Eubanks of Little Rock, AR, and Joel and his wife Carla Eubanks of Gulfport, MS; three great-grandsons, Jacob, Seth and Ethan.

Visitation was 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home in Cabot, Arkansas.

Funeral service was 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Harold O’Bryan officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot, Arkansas.

Nell Pinson

Nell Pinson, 78, of Bend, Oregon, formerly of North Little Rock, died Tuesday, October 11. Born Faustina Vernell Gresham on November 11, 1926, in Rosebud Arkansas, to Carl and Edith (Allen) Gresham, she was the youngest of three children. She graduated high school in Dubach, Louisiana and returned to Arkansas to teach school in the Woodlawn community. On March 31, 1944, she married Walter Kelly Pinson in Lonoke. Mrs. Pinson was an active business woman in North Little Rock for many years, first establishing Pinson Associates Personnel Agency and later became the Central Arkansas Franchise holder for Express Personnel Service with offices in North Little Rock and Pine Bluff. She was an active member of the Arkansas Personnel Assoc., the National Association of Personnel Agencies and the Arkansas Business Womens Association. She was an active member of Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock and taught Sunday School there for over 30 years. After retirement she remained active in church activities, enjoyed being with her family and traveling. In 1998 she moved to Bend, Oregon where she was an active member of Riverwoods Baptist Church until her death. She was a devout Christian, a loving wife, a devoted mother and a loyal and compassionate friend who will be missed by all whose life she touched.

She is survived by her husband Kelly, her daughter Betty Russell of Bend, Oregon and daughter and son-in-law Louise and Austin Smith of Sunriver, Oregon.
Visitation with the Pinson family was from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Park Hill Baptist Church. Funeral service was held Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005 at 2 p.m. also at Park Hill Baptist, with interment at Hebron Cemetery in Lonoke County. Arrangements are by Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Bend Lapine, 2075 N.E. Wyatt Court, Bend, OR 97701, or Park Hill Baptist Church, 201 E. C Ave., North Little Rock, AR 72116.

James F. Uzzell

James Franklin Uzzell, 65, of Valdosta, Ga., died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was an accountant by trade most of his life and traveled the world in that capacity. He was most recently a computer programmer and part-time night auditor.

Survivors include two daughters, Sonya D. Uzzell of Nashville, Ga., and Cherlynn K. Boyer of Safety Harbor, Fla.; one granddaughter; two brothers, Ernest E. Uzzell of Lonoke and David H. Uzzell of Cabot.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005 at Boyd Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. in Lonoke Cemetery.

John Garringer

John “ Uncle John” Garringer,68, of Lonoke, died Oct. 12, 2005. He was a member of Roberson Memorial Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Nellie Garringer of Lonoke; son, Johnny Garringer of Lonoke; daughters, Lena Ann Tucker and Tonya Curtis of Lonoke, Martha Jean Tippitt of Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and sister, Annie Mae Harris of Lonoke.

Funeral services were Friday at Roberson Memorial Baptist Church with interment at Concord Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday at Boyd Funeral Home.

Gladys Brooks

Gladys Brooks, 93, of Cabot died Monday. Oct. 10, 2005. She was a member of Baring Cross Baptist Church and retired from Dillard’s Department Store.
She is survived by two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Glover Cemetery in Lonoke.

James H. Stevens

James Herman Stevens, age 76, died Oct. 11, 2005. He was a 20 year Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He was retired from Burroughs Corp. and North Little Rock Electric Dept. and had worked with NASA on Apollo Missions. He was a 4th degree Knight in Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Jacksonville.Survivors include his wife, Lorena Ged Stevens; sons, John P. Stevens of Cabot, James M. (Jimmy) Stevens of Austin and David W. Stevens of Lonoke; daughters, Therese L. O’Donnell of Austin and Kate M. Wilmes of Cabot and nine grandchildren.

Visitation with Rosary were Thursday at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke. Funeral Mass was Saturday at St. Rose Catholic Church in Carlisle with interment in Salem Cemetery.

Jessie Lee King

Jessie Lee King, 68, of North Little Rock, died Oct. 8, 2005.
Her survivors include her sons, Osker Williams of Lonoke, Maceo Michael King of North Little Rock, and Barry King of Maumelle; daughters, Worthy Scruggs, Annette King, Brenda King of North Little Rock, and Lucille Turner of Sherwood; sister, Naomi Murray; brother, Willie Carroll, both of Little Rock; 21 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were on Sat., Oct. 15, at the Paradise Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Lloyd Summons.

Services were entrusted to Robinson Mortuary.

Euna M. Robinson

Euna Maxcine Robinson, 74, of Conway, died Oct. 10, 2005.
She was a member of the Conway Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Merkel of Hensley, John Markes of Tacoma, WA, Cindy Wells of Cabot, and Joseph Markes of Wichita, KS; sisters, Sylvia Phillips, Jimmie Fay Bariteau, and Betty Perry; brothers, Jackie Wood, Larry Wood, and Russ Dowdy; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Thurs., Oct. 13, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment followed at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander. Arrangements by Griffin Leggett Conway, Conway.

Les Nancy Kirkley

Les Nancy Jean Kirkley, age 79, of Jonesboro died Oct. 10, 2005. She was born in Lonoke, graduated from the University of Arkansas, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro.

Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Crumbaugh of Jonesboro, and Mary of Alpharetta, GA; brother, Judge Jack Lessenberry of Little Rock; and four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

A memorial service was held Wed., Oct. 12, in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro. Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials to the First United Methodist Church, 801 S. Main St., Jonesboro, Ark. 72401.

Tony E. Lovelace

Tony Edward Lovelace, 56, of Lonoke, died Oct. 11, 2005.
He was a member of Full Gospel Four Square Pentecostal Church.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Ann Lovelace; mother, Mildred Lovelace; son, Lynn Edward Lovelace; three grandchildren; sisters, Theresa Laurenzana and Monica Kay Tedford; brother, Ronald Ray Lovelace; stepsons, Keith Respondek and Ernie Mack; and stepdaughter, Sherry Schultz.

Funeral services were held Oct. 14, at the Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment followed at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Floeace Smith

Floeace Smith, 69, of Rose Bud, died Oct. 11, 2005.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Gail Sample of Heber Springs; sons, Ronnie Dale Smith of Rose Bud and Marty Thomas Smith of Bee Branch; sister, Sissie Protho of Rose Bud; brothers, Lee Gene Lester of Rose Bud, Bobby Gerald Lester of Cabot, and Gary Don Lester of Monette; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Oct. 14 at St. Mary’s Chapel with interment following at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

George Morgan, Jr.

George J. Morgan, Jr., 86, of Madison, MS, formerly of Little Rock, died Oct. 11, 2005. A native of Sand Springs, OK, he moved at an early age to Lonoke. During World War II he enlisted in the Army Air Force. He was manager of a legendary Little Rock bar, the Gar Hole.

He is survived by his daughter Susan Booth of Madison, MS; one grandson; and sister, Betty Morgan Bates of Winter Haven, FL.

Funeral services were held Oct. 14 in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Forest Hills. Burial followed at Forest Hills Memorial Park.

Vince Snell

Vince Snell, 54, of Cabot, died Oct. 11, 2005. He was employed for 29 years with Peerless Engravers.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Sandra Crouch Snell, of Cabot; sons, Jonathan Snell of Cabot, and Brian Snell of Benton; daughter, Laura Jones of Cabot; mother, Martha Snell Moss of Jonesboro; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to ARORA, 1100 North University, Little Rock, AR 72207.

A memorial service was held Oct. 15 at the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements were by the North Little Rock Funeral Home.
