Betty Sue Brumett

Betty Sue Brumett, age 70, of Bismarck, formerly of Lonoke, died Oct. 27, 2005. She was a member of Caney Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Julius (Jude) Brumett of Bismarck; one daughter, Judie Fayne of Nicholasville, Ken.; a son, Rick Brumett; two grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Cook of Pine Bluff, Owana Waddel of Lonoke, Mary Grendell of Dardanelle and Minnie Browne of Texas; brothers, Bennie Norton, Jr. of Georgia, Joe Norton of Green Forrest and Don Norton of Bryant.

Funeral services were Saturday at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke with burial following in Concord Cemetery.

Gip Jerry Wells

Gip Jerry Wells, 27, of North Little Rock, died Oct. 24, 2005. Survivors include children; Dakota, Dalton and Aspen Wells of Texas, Saera Cox of Little Rock; parents, Linda and Jerry Wells of North Little Rock; brother, Glenn Seyller, sister, Missy Moss both of Little Rock.

Graveside service, Thursday 11 a.m. at Wattensaw Cemetery by Boyd Funeral Home.

Charlotte L. Liska

Charlotte Lynn Morgan Liska, 53, of Lonoke, formerly of Tupelo, MS, died Oct. 23, 2005.

Survivors include her husband, Brian Liska of Lonoke; stepchildren, Dustin Liska of Anchorage, AK, and Kelly Liska of Lonoke; mother, Vona Morgan of Mooreville, MS; and sister, Beverly Morgan Smith of Greenville, MS.
Services were held Oct. 26 at Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues in Tupelo.

Bertha Clement

Bertha “Lucille” Clement, 79, of Hensley, died Oct. 25, 2005. She was a long time member of East Union Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Clement; daughter, Sharon Kincaid of Cabot; sister, Edith Duda of Iowa; two grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Oct. 28 at East Union Baptist Church in East End Community. Burial followed at East End Cemetery. Arrangements were by Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home.

Leigh Ann Benton

Leigh Ann Benton, 36, Little Rock, died Oct. 26, 2005.
Survivors include her parents, Bob and Janet Benton, Pine Bluff; daughter, Cassidy Mills-Benton; brothers, Steve Benton, Jeff Benton, both of Cabot and Bradley Benton, Holly Grove; grandmother, Lena Mills-Benton, Pine Bluff.
Graveside services were held Oct. 28 at the Oakland Cemetery, Fordyce.

Luie Mae Taylor

Luie Mae Clark Taylor, 77, of Sheridan, formerly of DeWitt, died Oct. 27, 2005. She was a homemaker and member of Common Ground Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Bobby Wayne Clark; daughter, Wanda Susan Vance both of Pine Bluff; sister, Ann Wooten of Lexa, and Francis Leslie of Cabot; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Oct. 29 at Essex Funeral Home Chapel in DeWitt, with burial at Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens.

Fayburn C. Bryant

Fayburn C. Bryant, 80, of North Little Rock, died Oct. 29, 2005. He was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock.
Survivors include his son, Carroll Bryant of Hope; daughters, Rita Brewer of Cabot, and Reba Hawkins Rodney of Maumelle; seven grandsons and 12 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Nov. 1 at Siloam Cemetery in Enola. Memorials may be made to Care Link Area on Aging, 372-5300 or 482-6359.

Perry L. Dodson, Jr.

Deacon Perry Lee Dodson, Jr., 64, of Lonoke, died Oct. 22, 2005. He was vice chairman of St. John Baptist Deacon Board, one of the original members of the Zion 5 Jr. Gospel Singers, vice president of St. John Baptist Choir and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Estella Dodson; daughter, Bonita Walter of Little Rock; son, Rev. Brian Dodson of DeValls Bluff; brothers, Major Dodson of California and Robert Dodson of Lonoke; sister, Laura Spencer of Lonoke; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held Oct. 29 at Gateway Fellowship Church. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Garden. Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home.

James W. McKinney
James W. McKinney of Maumelle, Arkansas, passed away on November 4, 2005. He was born to Frank and Helen McKinney in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on October 21, 1932. He is preceded in death by his parents.
James is survived by his wife, Doris, of forty-two years and their three daughters, Joan (John) McCune of Denver, Colorado, Phyllis (Bill) Nunnally of Austin, Arkansas and Vanessa (Tony) Brickman of Maumelle, Arkansas; four grandchildren that he loved very much, Jeana and Jennifer McCune and Anthony and Afton Brickman; and his sister Addie Jean Ketcherside of Fort Meyers, Florida; and his nephew, Jimmy (Carolyn) Ketcherside of Jefferson City, Missouri. He loved the Lord and was a member of First Baptist Church of Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a chemist for the Missouri Pacific Railroad for fifteen years. He retired after thirty years as the Regional Manager of the Rocky Mountain States for Fel-Pro of Chicago, Illinois. He loved sports and was an umpire in the 60’s at Lamar Porter Field. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2005, at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home on 12th Street. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at First Baptist Church in Little Rock, with burial at 2:00 p.m. at Wattensaw Cemetery in Lonoke. Services will be performed by Reverend John B. Wright and Reverend Jack Hazelwood. Arrangements by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.

Tony Dottore
Tony Dottore, 89, of Austin, died on Nov. 2, 2005. He is survived by his wife Betty of Austin; two daughters, Carol Hollis and Patricia Hagins, both of California; four step-children Wayne Carpenter, Emma Lee Carpenter both of Lonoke, Martha Sanders of Jacksonville, and Joyce Pittman of California; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and a sister. Funeral services were Saturday at Boyd Funeral Chapel with interment in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, arrangements by Boyd’s.

Sophie A. Hazel
Sophie Antoinette Hazel, 80, of Harrison, died Nov. 2, 2005.
She was a factory worker and shop owner and a member of the Grace Christian Center. Survivors include her daughter, Catherine Perry of Willingboro, NJ; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Nov. 8 at the Christeson Funeral Home. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lonoke. Those unable to attend services may contact Catherine Perry by email at cathyandfrank@netscape .net. Thomas E. Donahue
Thomas Edward Donahue, 87, of Cabot, died Nov. 1, 2005.
Survivors include his wife, Vera; daughter, Doris Coulson; stepson, James Irby; stepdaughter, Janie Ellis; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Nov. 5 at the Lakeside Cemetery in Des Arc by Garth Funeral Home.

Trina Marie Mount
Trina Marie Mount, 31, of Cabot, died Oct. 28, 2005. She is survived her husband, Duke; children, Jeremy and Nicole all of the home; parents, Bill and Tina Carpenter, of Cabot; and brothers, BJ and Brian. Funeral services were held Nov. 5 at Levy United Methodist Church in North Little Rock. Interment followed in the Edgewood Memorial Gardens in North Little Rock. Roy B. Ridings, Sr.
Roy B. Ridings, Sr., 85, of Cabot, died Nov. 3, 2005. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII and he was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann; son, Roy B. Ridings Jr. of Little Rock; daughters, Rosanna Ridings of St. Louis, MO, and Linda Miller of Cabot; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Funeral service were held Nov. 7 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot with military honors at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements were by Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock (501) 835-3515. Memorials can be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1210, Cabot, Arkansas 72023.

Jo Goodwin Stewart
Jo Goodwin Stewart, 69, of Jacksonville, formerly of North Little Rock and Almyra, died Nov. 3, 2005. She taught in the North Little Rock School District where she rose to be an administrator serving for 22 years as the Supervisor of Media Centers, as well as coordinator of Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS), and Coordinator of Learning Materials for the School District. She was a member of Jacksonville’s First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Otis; sons; Gary Wise of Jacksonville, Stephen Wise of Virginia and Frank Wise of Cabot; stepsons, Clay Stewart of Gentry, Scott Stewart of Oklahoma and Matt Stewart of Searcy; stepdaughter, Sandra Hammons of Cabot; sisters, Jeanne Williamson of Florida and Joyce Bauman of Almrya; 14 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. The funeral service was held on Nov. 8 at the North Little Rock Funeral Home with burial and graveside service following at the Almyra Cemetery south of Stuttgart.

Romaine Kimmel
Romaine Kimmel, 76, of Redfield, died Nov. 2, 2005. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Paula; daughters and sons, Rachel McCalpin of Redfield, Helen McClain of Newark, CA, John Kimmel of Cabot, Charlie Kimmel of Puyallup, WA, Christal Murphy of Modesto, CA, and Charles Bolin of Little Rock; four brothers and four sisters; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at a later day. Arrangements are by Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Ark., (501) 835-3515.

Archie T. Tosh
Archie Talmidge Tosh, 96, of Carlisle, died Nov. 6, 2005. He was a life-long resident of the Carlisle area. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nellie Faye Tosh; daughters, Edith James of Lonoke, and Ann Coyle of Jacksonville; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Nov. 8 at the Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Hamilton Cemetery.

Elsie Marie Aaron
Elsie Marie Aaron, 42, of Hazen died Fri., Nov. 4, 2005. She worked at Hazen Medical Clinic. She is survived by her mother, Shirley of Hickory Plains; husband, Roger Dee Aaron; sons, Christopher Lee and Roger Brian; daughter, Megan DeAnn, all of Hazen; brothers, James Howell of Hazen and Daniel and Mandy Howell of McRae; sisters, Rhonda and Tony Valero of Irving, TX, and Mary Kirkemier of Carlisle; and stepbrothers, Loyd Jr. and James Bush.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wed., Nov. 9, at Calvary Baptist Church in Hazen. Burial will be in the Hazen Cemetery.

Thomas E. Donahue
Thomas E. “Ed” Donahue, 87, of Cabot, died Nov. 1, 2005.
He graduated from Midway High School in Lonoke in 1933. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired as a journeyman plumber in Little Rock. Survivors include his wife Vera; daughter, Doris Coulson; stepson, James Irby; stepdaughter, Janie Ellis; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services were at the Lakeside Cemetery in Des Arc on Nov. 5 by Garth Funeral Home.

Wilbur Charles Huff

Wilbur Charles Huff, 81, of Cabot, died Nov. 14, 2005. He was born Oct. 11, 1924 to Hubert and Katherine Huff in Carlisle. Wilbur was a Retired United States Air Force Lt. Col., a member of Cabot United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Lion’s Club, MOAA, American Legion, AARP, Chamber of Commerce, and a lifetime member of Carlisle High School Alumni Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, David Scott Huff.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Sue Huff; three sons, Mark Stephen Huff of Glen Allen, VA, Terry Lee Huff of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Robert Charles Huff of Greenville, SC; step-son, Sammy Thurmon of American Canyon, CA; stepdaughter, Mary Humphries of Ward, and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home in Cabot.

Services are 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005 at Cabot United Methodist Church, with Rev. Richard Lancaster officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cabot United Methodist Church library or food pantry.

Richard L. Simmons

Richard Lynn Simmons, age 54, of Beebe, died Nov. 13, 2005. He served two tours in Vietnam with the Marines, was retired from Union Pacific Railroad and was Post Commander of VFW Post 7769 in Beebe.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Simmons; three sons, David Simmons of Crossett, Michael Simmons of Jacksonville and Johnny Peeks of Beebe; one daughter, Tracy VanWinkle of Lonoke; and three sisters, Donna Scott, Linda Smith and Brenda Rackley, all of Jacksonville.

Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral at 2:00 p.m. at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Mtn. Springs Cemetery.
