James Lewis Wood

James (Jim) Lewis Wood, age 49, of Cabot, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2005. Jim was known for his kindness to many when he worked for his father, Jack Wood, at Wood Consultants in Lonoke and previously at Wood Pharmacy in Cabot. He never met a stranger and always had a smile for everyone.

Preceding him, and waiting in Heaven for him, is his mother, Martha Baker Wood. Surviving him is his father, Jack Wood; wife, Kathy; daughter, Brandy; brother, Gary; and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8 at Thomas Funeral Home, Cabot. Family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Bible Church of Cabot. The body will be cremated following the service.

As Jim was an avid animal lover, memorials may be sent to Cabot Animal Shelter, 2102 South Second, Cabot, AR 72023.

James R. Magness

James R. Magness, age 77, of Cabot, Arkansas, passed away Monday, December 12, 2005. He was born August 20, 1928, in Beebe, Arkansas. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Lonoke.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Cleo Magness, a son, Jerry Magness; two brothers and one sister.

Survivors are his wife of sixty years, Betty Jean Magness; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Ken Murphy of Cabot and Shirl and Ken Welch of Little Rock; five grandchildren, Jeremy and April Murphy, Tonya and Jayson Hefley, Heather and Todd Graves, Thomas Murphy and Nicholas Welch; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Doris Robbins of Cabot.

Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2005, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, with burial in Hicks Cemetery.

Allen Keith Schmidt

Allen Keith Schmidt, age 47, of Cabot, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord Monday, December 12, 2005 at Cooks Lake Lodge at Casscoe, Arkansas. He was there deer hunting with his friends on a special deer hunt for the disabled. Allen suffered from Lou Gehrig’s Disease, but loved to spend time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a 1976 graduate of Cabot High School and a Baptist. He is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Debbie; two sons, Keith and Christopher Schmidt of Cabot; his parents, LeRoy and Patsy Schmidt of Austin; one sister, Carol McCabe of Austin; and a special niece, Lauren McCabe.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Allen’s nurse and friend, Peggy Johnson.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2005, at Cabot First Baptist Church, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Dorsey Angel

Dorsey Deoin Angel, age 78, of Batesville, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from East Texas Motor Frieght and Interstate Freight Line.

He is survived by his wife, Basil Faye Sisk Angel of the home; three sons, Jeff Angel, Batesville, Greg Angel, Cabot, and Bryan Angel, Hensley; one daughter, Gwen Sadler, Cabot; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home, Batesville, with interment in Redhill Cemetery at Marshall.

Lowman Wylie

Lowman Lewis Wylie, 78, a lifetime resident of Cabot, went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 1, 2005. Born September 17, 1927, Lowman was a dairy farmer, served 2 years in the U.S. Army and retired as a maintenance welder for Vertac Chemical Company after 30 years. Lowman was a Deacon, Councilman and charter member of Christ Worship Center Church of Cabot. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Florence Wylie, and sister Donie Goforth.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Agnes Brannon Wylie; four children, Roy Wylie (Mary) of Cabot, Jerry Wylie (Judy) of Conway, Jack Wylie (Toni) of Vilonia and Theresa Campbell (Ronald) of Beebe. Sisters Thelma Roach of Beebe, Doris Roach of Dover; and brother Pete Wylie of Cabot; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services were Sunday, December 3 at Christ Worship Center Church, Pastor Tom Heffner and Pastor Howard Smith officiating. Burial was at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Rosie Lee Ford

Rosie Lee Ford, age 75, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005.
She is survived by one brother, Clarence Ford and one sister, DeEster Value of Lonoke; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.

Mary C. Radler

Mary Catherine Radler, age 90, of Cabot, died Dec. 5, 2005.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia Haynes of Cabot.

Rosary services were Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005 with a Mass of Christian burial held on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005 in Tucson, Ari. Interment was at Kingman, Ari.
Arrangements by Thomas Funeral Service in Cabot and Brings Memorial Chapel in Arizona.

Tammy L. Campbell

Tammy Lynn Campbell, 32, of Cabot, died Dec. 4, 2005.
Survivors include her husband, Tony Campbell; daughters, Shae Lynn and Kaylee Lynn Campbell, all of the home; stepbrothers, Sonny Walls and Billy Goodnight; and stepsister, Liberty Mansshack.

Funeral services were held Dec. 8 at the Hilltop Baptist Church. Interment followed at the Sumner Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thomas Funeral Service.

Mary E. Gannaway

Mary Elizabeth Gannaway, 97, of Lonoke, died Dec. 6, 2005. She was a member of the Lonoke Baptist Church. She was a member of South Side Baptist church in Pine Bluff for many years. She was employed as a legal secretary for 54 years.

She is survived by 11 nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Dec. 8 at Bellwood Cemetery in Pine Bluff. Memorials may be made to Lonoke Baptist Church or South Side Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. Arrangements were by the Boyd Funeral Home.

Wayne Jeffries, Sr.

Wayne Reuben Jeffries Sr., formerly of Stuttgart, died Dec. 5, 2005. He was a past president of Stuttgart Lions Club and was member of the KWAK State Championship Bowling team. He was formerly associated with Ben Franklin Department Store, was a realtor and a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his son, Wayne Jeffries of Ward; daughter, Ann Jeffries of Wichita, KA; sister, Juanita Simpson of Arizona; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

military graveside services were held Dec. 8 at the Lone Tree Cemetery Chapel by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.

Jeffrey G. Bailey

Jeffrey Garland Bailey, 47, of Cabot, died Dec. 7, 2005.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a cabinet maker.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Bailey; son, Jacob Bailey; daughter, Rebecca Ann Bailey; brother, Keith Bailey; sister, Gayle Finley; stepbrothers and stepsisters, Netta Bevill, Corky Stumbaugh, Karla Pipkin, Robbin Waller, Darin “Stubby” Stumbaugh, Stewart Stumbaugh, and Marty Stumbaugh.

Funeral services were held Dec. 10 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel.

Anna Faye May

Anna Faye May,81, of England, died Dec. 10, 2005.
She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Little of California, Carolyn May of Alabama, Annette Cothren and Bessie May all of England, Patsy Jacob of Michigan, and Betty Hampton of Lonoke; sons, Ralph May of North Carolina, Jerry May of Bentonville, Raymond Kinley of El Dorado, and Bobby Jackson of North Little Rock; 21 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Dec. 13 at Roller-England Chapel in England with burial in Mulberry Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the England Manor Nursing Home Entertainment Activities Department or individual charity of choice.

Audrey Foster

Audrey Foster, 98, of Jacksonville, died Dec. 12, 2005.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by her son Walter Foster, of North Little Rock; daughter, Bonnie Gregory of Lonoke; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 5600 West 12th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.

Funeral services were Wed., Dec. 14, at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment at New Hope Cemetery in Calhoun County.

Donnie Allen Fuller

Donnie Allen Fuller, 60, of Bartlesville, OK, died Dec. 10, 2005. He served in the United States Navy during the 1960s and fought in the Vietnam War. He was involved in trucking and construction work. He was a member of the James H. Teel American Legion Post #105 and a member of the Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughters, April Marie Dively of Owasso, OK, and Cara Danene Overstreet of Bartlesville; son, Sheppard Price Fuller of Dewey, OK; sisters, Helen Ruth Anderson and Marrietta Riddle, both of Cabot; and five grandsons.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wed., Dec. 14, at the Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Rummage officiating.

Memorials may be sent to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 3393, Bartlesville, Okla. 74006.

Vernon C. Ashcraft

Vernon C. Ashcraft, 77, of Benton, ddied Dec. 2, 2005. He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Rock Island Railroad.

Survivors include his wife Charlotte; sons, Victor Ashcraft of Kansas City, MO, and Tom Ashcraft of Sims; daughter, Susan Davenport of Lonoke; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

A memorial service was held Dec. 5 at First Baptist Church in Benton. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund, First Baptist Church of Benton.
