Mary L. Gundaker

Mary Lucile Gundaker, 90, of Cabot, died Feb. 11, 2006.
She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her son, Bill Gundaker of Cabot; brother, Rev. David Robinson of Lugoff, SC; sister, Annie Losey of Camden, SC; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Hospice, 5600 W. 12th St., Little Rock, AR 72204.

Bonnie D. Hamilton

Bonnie Dee Hamilton, 79, of Crossett, Feb. 16, 2006.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Cannon of Crossett; sons, Johnny Summers of Ward, Charles Summers of Hamburg, Glenn Hamilton of Strong, Lamar Hamilton and Stephen Hamilton both of Crossett; brother, Robert Elton of Lake Earling; sisters, Nancy Wood and Beatrice McKowan, both of Petal, MS, Betty Jo Sansing of Seattle, WA; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 20 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment followed at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.

Leland Leslie Dailey

Leland Leslie Dailey, 82, of Cabot, died Feb. 17, 2006.
He is a retired Church of God minister and carpenter. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the Army as a medic and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
He is survived by his wife, Violet Oressa Stone Dailey of Cabot; son, John Leslie Dailey of Pine Bluff; daughter, Sherry Joan Wilkins of Cabot; sisters, Dorothy Carpenter of Fort Smith, and Leona Underwood of Perkinston, MS; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 20 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Betty J. Davis

Betty J. Davis, 72, of Lonoke, died Feb. 17, 2006.
She was retired from the Department of Human Services.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Laughlin of Lonoke and Rebecca Moon of Jacksonville; son, Larry Davis of Grand Prairie, TX; brothers, Lonnie Mitchell and Clayburn Mitchell of Florida, and Cliff Mitchell of North Little Rock; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Feb. 21 at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel.
A committal service was held at the Manila Cemetery in Manila.
Arrangements were by the North Little Rock Funeral Home.

Susan M. Slaughter

Susan M. Greene Slaughter, 64, of Jacksonville, died Feb. 19, 2006.
She was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church, a member of the Retired Air Force Veteran’s Wives Club, a sales associate at Wal-Mart and a homemaker.
Survivors include her children, Michael Slaughter of Jacksonville, Kathy Stallings of Cabot and Roxann Hollingshead of North Little Rock; sister, Judy Sellers of Council Bluffs, IA; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wed., Feb. 22, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The funeral service will be Thurs., Feb. 23, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136 with Blake Martin officiating.
Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

Dwight F. Beavers

Dwight F. Beavers, 58, of Camden, died Feb. 19, 2006.
He was the owner of Beavers Automotive. He sponsored the Beavers Automotive Scholarship at Camden Fairview High School, which will be continued in his memory. He also supported the Camden Fairview FFA.
He is survived by his mother, Mona Jean Hurley of Camden; daughters, Kalley Jackson of Bradenton, FL, Carye Beavers of Beebe; and Terrye Cooper of Cabot; brothers, Dennis Beavers of Little Rock and Gary Beavers of Virginia Beach, VA; sister, Rona Harrison of Camden; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 23, at Immanuel Baptist Church with burial in Bluff City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Beavers Automotive Scholarship Fund, c/o River Valley Credit Union.

Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jeannette Neil

Jeannette Bodiford Neil, 43, Carlisle, died Feb. 19, 2006.
Survivors include her husband, Charles; daughter, Stephanie; stepdaughter, Christy Martin; stepson, Jason Neil; parents, Brice and Ola Mae Bodiford; sisters, Shelby Smith, Karen Gross; and brothers, Kenneth, Darrel, and Keith.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thurs, Feb. 23, at New Hope Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Jeannette Bodiford Neil Funeral Fund, c/o Ashby Funeral Home, Benton.

Lucille E. H. Ray

Lucille Elizabeth Heriot Ray, 93, of Cabot, went to celebrate her life with the Lord on Monday, February 27, 2006. Lucille was born October 3, 1912. One of the many highlights of Lucy’s life was going to her sons’ dealership, Ray Chevrolet, everyday and visiting with customers. She loved going, especially to tailgate parties and any kind of sports. Best of all, she loved being with her family. She will be missed dearly by her family and many friends.

Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, James Marvin “Skipper” Ray and one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Ray Jewett. She is survived by her two sons: Gerald “Jerry” Ray and daughter-in-law, Judy Ray, Cary Ray and daughter-in-law, Roylane Ray; two grandchildren: James Skipper Ray and Ann Elizabeth Martin and her husband Todd; two great-grandchildren: Margaret “Maggie” Elizabeth Martin and Mason Ray Jewett Martin.

Memorial services will be held at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 with Dr. Jon M. Taylor and Rev. Johnny Glaze officiating.

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 5600 West 12th Street, Little Rock, AR, 72204 and Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute (CARTI). The family would like to thank her special caregivers, Sue Harris and Sandra Chapman and her hairdresser, Ann Gilliam. A special thanks to Springhill Baptist, Dr. Darren Clark and Cabot Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

John David Koon

John David Koon, 51, of Cabot died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006. John is a graduate of UALR in education. He was the 2002 recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award for the Cabot School District.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Regina, and two daughters, Laura and Rebekah; parents, Joe and Glen Koon; sister Deborah; brother Aaron.
John was a faithful follower of Christ, whom he served during his life and through his momentous four-year struggle with cancer.

Graveside services will be Thursday, March 2nd at 1 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot, followed by a time of remembrance.

Jacob Sanders

Jacob (Jake) Crutchfield Sanders of West Point, died Feb. 21, 2006 in his home.
He is survived by his wife Jackie Sanders. He is survived by the children he shared with Joyce, his wife of 50 years: children Marilyn Mobley and Jeff Sanders (both of West Point), Kathy Smith, and Staci Potratz (of Cabot); grandchildren; brothers Garretson Sanders (West Point), Bob Sanders (West Point), and Dr. Bill Sanders (Harrisonburg, Va.); sister Ellanore Jackson (Searcy).

He was a long-time member of the West Point Baptist church and principal, teacher and coach at the West Point school in the 1950s and 60s. He graduated from Arkansas State Teacher’s College (Conway) in 1948. He became a full-time farmer in the late 1960s. Funeral services were Friday at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home with interment at West Point Cemetery.

Thomas Crawford

Thomas Roderick Crawford, 80, of Cabot died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006. Crawford was a heavy dye setter for the General Motors Corporation, a United States Army veteran of World War II and attended Cornerstone Bible Fellowship Church. He was a member of the United Auto Workers union, a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a life member of Am Vets.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Crawford of Cabot, three children: Judy Knyzewski of Skidway, Mich., Alice Crawford of Flint, Mich. and Danelda Crawford of Hale, Mich. Also surviving him are one brother, Bill Crawford of Flint, Mich. and three sisters; Margaret Jane Green of Lupton, Mich., Beverly Rosing of Cedarville, Mich. and Donna Piche of Detour, Mich.; six grandchildren.
He requested he be cremated and taken home to Michigan. A service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.

Lynn F. Houston

Lynn F. Houston, 69, of Cabot, died Feb. 22, 2006, in Little Rock. Lynn was a Christian and a member of Victory Baptist Church in Cabot. She loved country music and yard sales.

Survivors include her sons; Richard A. Burt of Cabot, Rocky Johns of Benton, Rodney Hanna of Alexander; daughter Lacinda Cooper of Mabelvale; sister, Lucille Haer of Searcy, brother, Junior Houston of Pangburn, half sisters; Bea Houser of Phoenix, AZ, and Freda Vinnson of Pangburn; half brothers; Ardell, Melvin and Doyle Houston all of Pangburn, 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A service in memory of Lynn was Monday, Feb. 27, 2006 in the chapel of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home, with Rev. Ben Leonard officiating.

Ray L. Hylton

Ray L. Hylton age 98, of Jacksonville died Sunday, February 19, 2006 at V.A. Hospital in Little Rock. He was born October 30, 1907 in Barry, Illinois to Lafayette and Lucille Leonard Hylton. Mr. Hylton served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II and Korean War. He retired from the Armed Services after 30 years. In 1957 Mr. Hylton began a 44 year career as a security guard with the Pinkerton Agency until he retired in 2001. He was a lifetime member of American Legion #1 in Little Rock and a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #4548. Mr. Hylton was preceded in death by his three wives, Freida, Ethel and Beatrice and a granddaughter, Christine Watkins.

He is survived by four children, Michael Hylton of Kansas City, Missouri, Everett, Johnny Lee and Jimmy Hylton of Joplin, Missouri, Betty Jean Watkins of Humansville, Missouri; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; one niece and a great nephew of Cabot.

Funeral services were Friday, February 24, 2006 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Everette Hodge.
