Watkins

OSCEOLA -- Ann Turner Watkins, 99, of Osceola, formerly of Batesville, died Saturday, Dec. 8, at Osceola Nursing Center. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Batesville, where she served as secretary and office manager.

Survivors include one brother, Edward Turner of Memphis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Watkins.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis, with the Rev. Jim Roberts officiating. Roller-Swift Funeral Home in Osceola is n charge of arrangements.

Williams

TRUMANN -- Funeral services for Annie Bell Williams, 80, of 150 Campbell St., formerly of Fayetteville, Tenn., who died Sunday, Dec. 9, will be at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon at the McCormick Baptist Church near Trumann, with Perry Tidwell and Jim Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery at Harrisburg.

Active pallbearers will be James Lowery, Jeff Williams, Scott Foshee, Keith Williams, Stacy Williams and Rodney Collins.

Honorary pallbearers will include Randy Collins, Gaylen Lowery, Jimmy Lowery and Tony Williams.

Born in Lincoln County, Tenn., she had lived in Trumann for the last four months. She was a retired factory employee and was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include five daughters, Nancy Lowery of Jacksonville, Fla., Frances Lowery of Harrisburg, Linda Collins of Huntsville, Ala., Judy Garner of Jonesboro and Debra Benson of Trumann; six sons, Luther Williams, Charles Williams, Tony Williams and Barry Williams, all of Trumann, Michael Williams of Jonesboro and Timothy Williams of Bay; three sisters, Thelma McWhirter of Fayetteville, Tenn., Dixie Gorden of Macon, Ga., and Essie Herndon of Forsyth, Ga.; four brothers, William McWhirter of Hendersonville, Tenn., Franklin McWhirter of Forsyth, Ga., and James McWhirter and Henry McWhirter, both of Fayetteville, Tenn.; 30 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Williams, and by two sons, her parents, Franklin and Bessie Leona Crouch McWhirter, three sisters, two brothers, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.

Wilson

PHOENIX -- Ed V. Wilson, 90, of Phoenix, formerly of Newark, died Thursday, Dec. 6, in Phoenix. Born at Newark, he was a retired farmer and of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include one daughter, Jane Barber of El Dorado; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vela Lenehan Wilson; two daughters; one grandson; and his parents, Lewis E. and Mary E. Lane Wilson.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Blue Springs Cemetery at Newark, with the Rev. Bill Goodwin officiating. Jackson's Newark Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Youngman

PARAGOULD -- Robert Youngman, 54, of Paragould died Tuesday, Dec. 4. Born in Brinkley, he was an assistant manager for Town and Country grocery store.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Youngman II of Fayetteville and John Youngman of Walnut Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucile Youngman.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Brinkley.

Willis-Hayes Funeral Service of Batesville is in charge of arrangements.

Chandler

Rev. Gus Chandler Jr., 52, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Feb. 3,at St. Bernard's Medical Center. Born in Gilmore, he lived in Chicago before moving to Jonesboro. He was a Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam and was pastor of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church at Wilson. He was first vice moderator of the MVBSU District of Mississippi County and was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Chandler of the home; one son, Charles Wayne Scales of St. Louis; two daughters, Chanell Scales and Katherine Chandler, both of Jonesboro; his mother, Esther Futrell of Jonesboro; one sister, Charlie Mae Futrell of Cincinnati; six brothers, Michael Chandler of Sioux City, S.D., Elmer Futrell of Ft. Benning, Ga., Tyrone Futrell of Blytheville, Eddie Futrell of Louisville, Ky., and Emmitt Futrell of Moberly, Mo.; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian D. Oldham officiating. In event of inclement weather, services will be in the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church at Osceola at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday in Grace Chapel of Woodard Funeral Home, 216 East St., Jonesboro.

Active pallbearers will be Elmer Futrell, Michael Chandler, Tyrone Futrell, Reco Haggins, Al Quarrels, David Jones, Cleveland Haynes Jr., and Bennie Scales.

Honorary pallbearers will include deacons of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

Clark

Funeral services for Daniel Nathan Clark, 25, of 1004 Winbrook Circle in Jonesboro, who died Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge, will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Jonesboro with the Revs. Bruce Tippitt and Tom Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will include Tom Mangum, Robert Hendrix, Kenneth Gillman, John Butts, Jim Cole and Kelley Elder.

Born at McComb, Mich., he lived in Paragould before moving to Jonesboro in 1991. He attended First Baptist Church in Jonesboro and Valley View High School.

Survivors include his wife, Shannoon Elder Clark of the home; one daughter, Brianna Nadine Clark of the home; his father and stepmother, Danny and Patty Clark of Jonesboro; his mother and stepfather, Teresa and Mark Cooper of Jonesboro; one sister, Cassandra Nadine Clark of Jonesboro; and his grandmothers, Bonnie Jinkins of Vicksburg, Miss., and Betty Harris of Paragould.

Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock or to the Easter Seals Foundation.

Durgin

Funeral services for Rosie Dell Durgin, 86, of 3112 Fairview in Jonesboro, who died Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Beverly Heath and Rehabilitation Center in Jonesboro, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with the Rev. Leland Worlow officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Don Ransome, Dale Ransome, Gale Ransome, Larry Ransome, Oneal Bowen and Bill Bowen.

Born in Tuckerman, she was a retired tool room supervisor in Michigan, and was a member of the Methodist church. She was active in senior citizens' groups in Jonesboro.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Stevens of Jonesboro and Betty Garcia of Livonia, Mich.; one son, Donny Durgin of Taylor, Mich.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Elliott

WALNUT RIDGE -- Bradford Elliott, 45, of Walnut Ridge died Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge. Born in St. Louis, he had been a bus driver for both the Jonesboro and Hoxie school districts and was of the Pentecostal belief.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Elliott of the home; two stepsons, Richard Tindall and Kenneth Tindall, both of Paragould; two sisters, Grace Conrad of Walnut Ridge and Virginia Mathis of Steelville, Mo.; four brothers, David Elliott of St. Louis, Jacob Elliott of Rolla, Mo., and Albert Elliott and Richard Elliott, both of Cuba, Mo.; and six step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the Bryan Funeral Home chapel in Hoxie, with the Rev. Mark Huff officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery at Lafe.

Pallbearers will be Richard Tindall, Kenneth Tindall, Anthony Tindall, Tim Gardner, A.J. Stracener, Tim Ryan, Sam Burns, Albert Elliott, Richard Elliott and Chester Green.

Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Fortner

OSCEOLA -- Annie Juanita Fortner, 73, of Osceola died Monday, Feb. 4, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Osceola. She was a homemaker, a lifetime resident of Osceola and a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Osceola.

Survivors include seven sons, Cliford Fortner and Roger Fortner, both of Searcy, Glenn Fortner of Osceola, Billy Fortner of Heber Springs, Danny Fortner of Keiser, Julian Fortner of East Prairie, Mo., and Ricky Fortner of Daugherty, Va.; one sister, Levader Gandie of Santa Marie, Calif.; one brother, Olive Byram of Trumann; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Fortner.

Funeral services are scheduled for today at 2 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church in Osceola, with Tom Doty officiating. Burial will follow at Ermen Lane Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola.

Higginbotham

POCAHONTAS -- John Laval Higginbotham, 39, of Pocahontas died Sunday, Feb. 3, at Warm Springs. Born in Monette, he was a diesel mechanic.

Survivors include one son, Derek Wayne Higginbotham of Seymour, Tenn.; his mother and stepfather, Mary and Steve Anderson of Pocahontas; his father and stepmother, Boyd and Leola Higginbotham of Pocahontas; three brothers, Steven Anderson of Imboden, Allen Higginbotham of Shreveport, La., and Mike Higginbotham of Pocahontas; and two sisters, Mary Collins of San Antonio, Texas and Susan Beede of the home.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Monday at Warm Springs Cemetery, with Gaylan Russell officiating. McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will include Allen Higginbotham, Mike Higginbotham, Steven Anderson, Jeremy Gamso, Sawn Hackworth and Randy Collier.

Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
