Eric H. Weiland, Jr.

Eric Huber Weiland, Jr., 61, died March 2006. He served in the U.S. Army for 18 years until his retirement in 1989. He taught at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

He is survived by his wife, Holly Louise Hughes Weiland of North Little Rock; children, Jessamyn Edwards of Jacksonville, and Marcus Weiland of El Paso, TX; three grandchildren; and sister, Camille Craddock of Fort Smith.

Graveside services were held Mon., April 3, at Fort Smith National Cemetery with Full military Honors. Services were entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes, Northeast in El Paso, TX.

Alice Louise Wilder

Alice Louise Wilder, 87, of Little Rock, died March 30, 2006.
She was a member of American Business Women’s Association and retired from U. S. Times. She was a longtime member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Jack D. Wilder, Jr., of Benton; sisters, Rose Luberski of Michigan, Mary Duke of Little Rock and Sue Henderson of Lonoke; five grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Funeral services were held April 3 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment followed at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Geyer Springs First Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 31510, Little Rock, Ark. 72260.

Lois E. Taylor

Lois Elizabeth Taylor, 91, of Cabot, died March 30, 2006.
She is survived by her sons, William, Marvin, Wayne, Bobby, and Edward; daughter, Emma Jean Taylor; and a host of grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 2 at Russell Chapel Church of the Nazarene. Interment followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were by Roller-Owens Funeral Home.

Imogene F. Wooley

Imogene Fortner Wooley, 91, of Jacksonville died April 1, 2006. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville. She worked in the community as a sales clerk in Pace’s Department Store, Alco, Magic Mart and as a greeter at Wal-Mart.

She is survived by her children; Hugene Wooley, Bob Wooley, Tanya Sorrels, all of Jacksonville, Don Wooley of Crown Point, IN, Carmelita Burks of North Little Rock, and Juanita Ann Booth of Baytown, TX; 16 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 4 at the First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville. Burial followed in Bayou Meto Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 220 W. Main St., Jacksonville, Ark. 7207.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.

Shirley Ann Novak

Shirley Ann Novak, age 52, of Austin, died Friday, March 30, 2006.
Survivors include her husband Erick Novak of the home; son Richard Wayne Duvall of Austin, Texas; parents, Billy and Michelene Wilcox of Kansas City, Mo.; sister, Annie Marie Black of Raymore, Mo.; one grandchild.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Little Rock Air Force Base Chapel. Arrangements by Thomas Funeral Service, 713 South Second St., Cabot.

Jereta Martin

Jereta Mae Martin, age 60 of Cabot, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006. She was born Jan. 21, 1946 in Searcy to the late Ormal and Ola Mae Barrett Curtis. She was a Sunday School teacher and a Jubilee Choir member at McArthur Assembly of God in Jacksonville. She was retired from Jacksonville Medical Clinic.

Survivors include her husband, Jim J. Martin; and a sister, Norweita Faye Hudson.

Funeral services were 10 a.m., Friday, April 7, 2006 at McArthur Assembly of God, Jacksonville with Rev. Larry Burton and Rev. Lester Burton officiating. Interment was in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

James B. Anderson

James B. Anderson, age 62, of Ward, Arkansas, was born April 23, 1943, at Hot Springs, Arkansas to Arthur W. and Gladys B. Sirratt Anderson, and he died Friday, April 7, 2006. He retired from the Lonoke County Road Department.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; four daughters, Suewaya Cotton and Shawnee Mercelle and husband Chipall of Wichita, Kansas, Carol Halsey and husband Jackie of North Little Rock, Susan Patterson and husband Tim of Cabot; one brother, Douglas Anderson of Malvern; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Ernestine Dodson and Myrtle Farlow both of Malvern; four step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shawna LeAnn Anderson, his parents and three brothers.

Family received friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.mm. Monday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Graveside service was 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at Lebanon Cemetery, McRae.

Mary M. Freeman

On March 20, 2006, Mary M. Freeman died.

She is survived by her husband Bill J. Freeman, three children, Sgt. Robert L. Freeman, Ft. Campbell, Ky.; two daughters, Martha Brown, and Lunette Franks Freeman both of London, Ark.; three grandchildren; her mother Martha Jones Quattlebaum of Ward; two step-brothers; five step-sisters.

She was proud of her Native American heritage. Her Cherokee name was “ White Buffalo Woman Who Loves God’s Creation”. She was a member of the Inter-Tribal/Assoc. of Ark and the Lost Cherokee Tribe. She was a foster parent and had a loving hand in the lives of 39 children.

Memorial services will be April 15, 2006, 10 a.m. at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Austin.

Bill J. Freeman

On March 22, 2006, Bill J. Freeman died.

He is survived by three children, Robert L. Freeman of Ft. Campbell, Ky.; two daughters, Martha Brown, and Lunette Franks Freeman both of London, Ark.; three grandchildren; one brother Bill Hunter of Percy; one sister Joyce Reinert of Halstead, Kan.

He with his wife helped in the lives of 39 foster children. He was a quiet man and his Cherokee name given was “Quiet Man with Gentle Heart”.

Memorial services will be held April 15, 10 a.m., at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Austin.

Frank David Salazar

Frank David Salazar, 17, of North Little Rock, died April 3, 2006.

Survivors include his parents, Mark and Denise Salazar; and brothers, Marcus and Brandon Salazar, all of the home.

Funeral services were held April 7 at McArthur Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville. Memorial donations may be made to the Sylvan Hills High School Band Program, 484 Bear Paw Drive, Sherwood, Ark. 72120.
Arrangements were by Thomas Funeral Service in Cabot.

Mary E. Fletcher

Mary Elizabeth De-Loach Fletcher, 84, of Lonoke, died April 4, 2006.

She was a public accountant, former district governor of the Arkansas Society of Accountants, treasurer of the Lonoke Historical Society, Lonoke County Literacy Council, Lonoke Scholarship Foundation and Presbyterian Women of the Church. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lonoke.

She is survived by sons, Alex and Jeff; four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

Funeral services were held April 7 at First Presbyterian Church in Lonoke.
Arrangements were by Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke. The family requests memorials to First Presbyterian Church of Lonoke.

Georgia R. Williams

Georgia Ruth Morris Williams, 88, of Monroe, died April 4, 2006. She worked over 10 years with a citizens group to obtain the first water system and emergency services for residents of east Monroe County. She was the pianist for the Monroe Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was a former elementary teacher.

Survivors include her son, Vern Williams of Little Rock; Julia Fletcher, of Lonoke, Elizabeth Westbrook of Jonesboro, and Jane Richey of Little Rock; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the American Red Cross, Monroe Baptist Church or a favorite charity.

Funeral services were held April 7 at the Monroe Baptist Church in Monroe. Interment was in White Church Cemetery in Rich.

Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home in Clarendon was in charge of arrangements.

William McClendon

William McClendon, 78, of Cabot, died April 4, 2006. He was a Master Gunnery Sergeant, United States Marine Corps retired. He was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, the Marine Corps Association and the Fleet Reserve Association. After leaving the Marine Corps, he owned and operated Cabot Full Service Garage in the 1970s and later managed the Ford dealership’s garage in Cabot for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Anita McClendon; son, Michael McClendon of Cabot; daughter, Janis Merritt of Jacksonville; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and sisters, Marie Gehring of Wheatley and Bertha Mae Barnett of Stuttgart.

Funeral services were Sat., April 8, in the Chapel of Cabot Funeral Home. Burial followed in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
