Johnson

MAYNARD -- Cathy Oneta Johnson, 60, of Maynard died Tuesday, Feb. 5, at St. Bernard's Medical Center. She was born at Oil Trough.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Brandon Johnson of Maynard; three sons, Terry Johnson and Charles Johnson Jr., both of Maynard, and Tim Johnson of Jonesboro; two daughters, Jeanetta Shiell of Cabot and Jennifer Wren of Engelberg; three brothers, Lonnie Byrd of Doniphan, Mo., Richard Byrd of Maynard and Ted Byrd of Flanagan, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Richard and Iva Jewel Conway Byrd, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home, with Harmon Seawel and Ray Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at Pitman.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Dietetic Tech Scholarship, c/o Black River Technical College, P.O. Box 468, Pocahontas 72455.

Marbury

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. -- Ellen D. Marbury, 84, of Brownsville died Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was reared in Trumann and was a graduate of Trumann High School. She was a homemaker, gave private piano lessons and was a music and art teacher for Haywood County Schools. She was a member of Cypress United Methodist Church at Alamo, Tenn.

Survivors include two sons, Louis "Spike" Marbury of Jackson, Tenn., and Danny Marbury of Alamo; three daughters, Barbara Callery of Brownsville, Lynn Williford of Lititz, Pa., and Sherry Rosser of Somerville, Tenn.; one brother, Donald Upton of Memphis; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Marbury.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Brownsville Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Marvin's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Marvin's Chapel United Methodist Cemetery Fund.

Martin

HOXIE -- Charles Luther Martin, 53, of Hoxie died Tuesday, Feb. 5, at St. Bernard's Medical Center. Born at Walnut Ridge, he was the owner and operator of Martin's Garage and Wrecker Service, a member of the Aurora Lodge No. 423, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Rogers Martin of the home; one daughter, Leslie Ann Martin of the home; one brother, Ray Martin of Walnut Ridge; and two sisters, Diana Shelton of Walnut Ridge and Julie Clayton of Lebanon, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Charlene Martin.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge with Bob Smith officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

McIlvoy

AUSTIN, Texas -- Funeral services for Tosh McIlvoy, 51 of Austin, formerly of Weiner, who died Friday, Feb. 1, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Weiner with the Rev. Jim Dixson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery under the direction of Langford's Funeral Service.

No visitation has been scheduled.

Murphree

LEACHVILLE -- Funeral services for William Clinton Murphree, 78, of Leachville, who died Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Manila Nursing Center, will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the Howard Funeral Service chapel in Leachville with the Rev. Randy West officiating. Burial will follow at Leachville Cemetery.

Born at Pontotoc, Miss., he had been a Leachville resident since 1992, was a former Chicago resident, retired from Continental Canning Co. as a machine operator, was a member of the Leachville Church of God and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha Juanita Murphree of the home; one son, William Terry Murphree of Phoenix; one daughter, Fredie Wilson of Malta, Ill.; two brothers, Leon Murphree of Manila and James Murphree of Pocahontas; two sisters, Corenna Hughes of Bruce, Miss., and Mattie Foster of Blue Mountain, Miss; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son.

Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Neeley

PIGGOTT -- Earlene Neeley, 66, of Piggott died Wednesday, Feb. 6, in St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born at Crockett.

Survivors include three sons, Johnny Neeley of Colt, Gary Verdier of Florissant, Mo. and Terry Neeley of Doniphan, Mo.; four sisters, Geneive Leird of Malden, Mo., Cora Ann Harmon of Piggott, Sylvia Reed of Pevely, Mo. and Margie Ward of Piggott; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Neeley; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home chapel with Carter Grindstaff officiating. Burial will be at Piggott Cemetery in Piggott.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ratliff

HAMMOND, Ind. -- Lelar Ratliff, 87, of Hammond, died Sunday, Feb. 3, at Community Hospital in Munster, Ind. Born in Pocahontas, she was a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Tom Ratliff of Hammond; one brother, Lyman Alphin of Doniphan, Mo.; one sister, Meadie Halfacre of Corning; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Haywood Thomas Ratliff.

Funeral services will be today at 10 a.m. today at McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas, with Nelson Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Pocahontas.

Richardson

AUSTIN, Texas -- Gary Gene Richardson, 49, of Austin died Saturday, Feb. 2, in Austin. Born in Blytheville, he was a cabinet maker and of the Pentecostal belief.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Richardson of Austin; four sons, Chris Richardson, Jacob Richardson and Joseph Richardson, all of Austin, and David Lee of Arlington, Texas; two daughters, Priscilla Richardson and Sarah Beth Richardson, both of Austin; his mother, Mabel Richardson of Gosnell; five sisters, Peggy Richardson of Gosnell, Dianne Carlson of Logan Port, Ind., Mae Webb of Sneedville, Tenn., Pamela Bailey of Bunker Hill, Ind., and Teresa Thacker of Benton, Ky.; four brothers, Eddie Richardson of Maynard, Carlos Richardson of Dallas, Nollen Richardson of Springfield, Ill., and Terry Richardson of Gosnell; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph A. Richardson.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. today at the Pentecostal Church of God in Gosnell, with Rev. Roy Carrico officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park in Blytheville under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Blytheville.

Ross

BURTON, Mich. -- Mary Lou Ross, 76, of Burton, Mich., died Monday, Feb. 4 at Genesys Health Park in Michigan.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Rowland

PARAGOULD -- Melvin Jones Rowland, 87, of Paragould died Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. Born in Greene County, he was a retired farmer and county motor patrol operator and a member of True Holiness Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mozelle Rowland of Paragould; one son, Kenneth J. Rowland of Paragould; one daughter, Kay Harvill of Paragould; one brother, Onis Rowland of Paragould; three sisters, Wassie Beasley, Zelma Beasley and Fondrell Thurman, all of Paragould; four grandchildren, Stephen Rowland, Randa Crawford, Leslie Collier and Charlia Lamar; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Minnie Wood Rowland, five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould, with Art Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Paragould.

Pallbearers will be Frankie Rowland, Johnny Thurman, Tommy Myrick, Ronnie Rowland, Rodney Nelson, Chris Lamar, Mack Crawford, Gary Don Beasley and Larry Myrick.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Shiflett

TRUMANN -- Mildred Lucille "Millie" Shiflett, 65, of 441 Harrison St., Trumann, died Saturday, Feb. 2, at her residence. Born at Bay, she had lived in Trumann for the last 30 years. She owned and operated a restaurant for many years and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include one son, Tommy Moore of O'Brien, Fla.; seven sisters, Bonnie Bentley and Sharon Woods, both of Trumann, Joyce Cook of Payneway, Peggy Dalton of Maynard, Glenda Collett of Success and Wanda Vanderfool and Mona Page, both of Tulsa, Okla; three brothers, Donald Woods of Waterproof, La., John Woods of Guadalajara, Mexico, and William Wayne Woods of Tulsa; one granddaughter, Lori Jean Moore of Lake City, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William L. and Alta Mae Dirck Woods, one sister and one brother.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, with the Rev. Bobby Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Marked Tree Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Michael Woods, Charlie Collett, Billy Cook, Jimmy Cook, Jay Paul Woods and Paul Markin.

Visitation will be from noon until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
