Lois Waymack
Lois Elizabeth Waymack, 93, died July 24, 2006 in Cabot. Lois was born on January 10, 1913 to the late Ernest and Martha Ballard Cox in Old Austin. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Horace Waymack.
She was also preceded by eight siblings, Maycel Brown, Corene Snead, Oneal Cox, Charley Cox, Thelma Davis, Ceril Cox, Linnie Patrick, and Lola Patron.
She is survived by one daughter; Patsy Wilson of Cabot; one son, Tommy Waymack of Cabot; one sister, Alma Looper; five grandchildren, Kathy Byrns, Donna Lawson, Barry Wilson, Rita Sipe, and Randy Waymack. She also was survived by seven great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
The family received friends on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral Services were held on Thursday, July 27, 2006, at the chapel of Cabot Funeral Home with the Rev. Dave Reddoch officiating. Interment followed at Sumner Cemetery.
Lanny Weeks
Lanny Weeks, age 54, of Beebe died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006. Born on February 20, 1952, at Little Rock to David and Lucy Mayfield Weeks, he was an employee of ICM in Jacksonville.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Roger Weeks and wife Nikki of Cabot; daughter, Rhonda Howell and husband Randy of Ward; five grandchildren; seven brothers, William, Mike, Bobby, Carl, Bill, Larry and Jerry Weeks; and a sister Lucille Weeks, all of Ward.
Graveside service were held Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Beebe. Arrangements by Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe.
Robbie V. Abbott
Robbie V. Abbott, 55, of Searcy died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006 at her home followinga six-year battle with breast cancer. She was a longtime member of the Downtown Church of Christ in Searcy and a founding part of the Searcy Cancer Support Group, which is devoted to helping women of all ages cope with cancer.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Abbott of Searcy; a son, Christopher Scott Abbott and wife Christie of Cabot; a daughter, Morgan Nicole Abbott Holt and husband John M. of Searcy; her parents, Hardy and Juanita King of Searcy; a brother, Fred King and wife Lynn of Searcy; three grandchildren; an aunt and uncle; and two nieces.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 5, at Downtown Church of Christ. Interment followed in White County Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Powell Funeral Home of Searcy.
Michael W. Oldham
Michael Wayne Oldham, 52, of Jacksonville died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006 at Rebsamen Medical Center in Jacksonville. A native of Dewitt, he served served for more than 25 years in the U.S. Navy before retiring in 1997.
He is survived by his parents, Ralph and Yurba Oldham of Jacksonville; fiancée, Marie Jones of Jacksonville; daughter, Sabrina Oldham of Cabot; sons, Paul and Scott Oldham both of Pennsylvania; brother, David Oldham of Jacksonville; several aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Chapel. Arrangements by Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society.
Zelma Lois Gipson
Zelma Lois Gipson, 89, formerly of Stuttgart, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006 at Chambers Nursing Home in Carlisle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Artelya Bridgeman; her husband E.H. “Pug” Gipson; a grandson Kevin Kittler; four sisters; and three brothers. She was a loving mother to Terrel and Teresa Gipson of Little Rock, Margaret and Robert Murray, Charlotte and Kenneth Kittler and Rosemary Marotti, all of Carlisle, and Linda Rockwell of Searcy; Grandma Lois to 16 grandchildren and GiGi to 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke.
The family received friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at the funeral home. Arrangements were by Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.

Christopher Weeks
Christopher A. Weeks, age 17, of Cabot died Thursday, July 20, 2006. Christopher was born June 2, 1989 to Mike and Anita Long Weeks in Searcy, Arkansas. He was a student at Cabot High School where he was a member of the track and football team. Christopher was also a member of Deliverance Tabernacle in Ward.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, David and Lucille Weeks.
He is survived by his parents; grandparents, Carl Long and Nancy Long both of Beebe; one sister, Regina Weeks of Ward; and one brother, Kevin Weeks of Ward. He also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 27, 2006, at the chapel of Cabot Funeral Home, with visitation having started at noon. Interment followed at Old Austin Cemetery.
Beverly Richardson
Beverly Kay Richardson, 60, of Hensley died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents J.R. and Josie Millikin.
She is survived by her husband Jerry; daughter Renea Harrison; grandson Sebastian all of Hensley; sister Sylvia Blackwood; nephew, Steven Blackwood and wife Cindi; niece, Sharon Blackwood; great-nephews, Matt Eagle, Jason Eagle, and Alex Blackwood; and a great-niece Ariel Blackwood, all of Cabot.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 3, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth in Little Rock. Burial followed at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Sonya Choi
Sonya Choi, 16, of Knoxville, Tenn., died July 30, 2006.
She is survived by her parents Gab and In Sook Choi; and sister So Mi Choi.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, Aug. 9, in California.
Arrangements were by Thomas Funeral Service in Cabot.
Rosa L. Jackson
Rosa L. Jackson, of Cabot died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Ross Jackson of Hazen.
She is survived by her daughters and their husbands Judy Swaim and husband Tommy of Jacksonville, and Vicki Staggs and husband Bill of Cabot; sister Ida Bray of Carlisle; stepdaughter Bette Holmes of Little Rock; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A family graveside memorial service was held Friday, Aug. 4, at the Carlisle Cemetery
in Carlisle.

Abner Sorrows Sr.
Abner “Junior” Gerald Sorrows Sr., 73, of North Little Rock died Monday, Aug. 7, 2006. He worked for Fort Roots as a Nursing Assistant for 29 years and was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and a member of Arena Billiards.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Velma Trujillo Sorrows of North Little Rock; sons, Steve Sorrows of Sherwood, Abner Jerry Sorrows of Rose Bud, Ricky Joseph Sorrows of Vilonia, Lance Sorrows of Lonoke, and Jimmy Eugene Sorrows of Sherwood; daughters, Denise Patterson of Fox Lake, Ill., and Dawana Sorrows of Sherwood; brothers, Ray Sorrows of North Little Rock, and Harvey Sorrows of Lonoke; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 10, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
A Vigil service will be held 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 9, at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.

Larry Joe Maxey
Larry Joe Maxey, 60, of Woodlawn, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006.
Survivors include his wife Wanda Faye West Maxey; daughters Tammy Maxey Hulse, Francis Maxey Lynch, and Jodie Maxey Jolly; sister Linda Johnson; and six grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, Aug. 5, at Pinecrest Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. Arrangements by Cranford Funeral Home.
John Shelby Sutton
John Shelby Sutton, 52, of Alexander, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006. He was an ordained minister.
He is survived by his children, Shelly Cagle and husband Terry of Cowan, Tenn., and James Sutton and wife Connie of Ward; brother Lee Sutton; sisters Sue Mullings and husband Sam of Alexander, and Sharon Fluker; five grandchildren; and fiancée, Zora Anderson of Beebe.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Viney Ridge Emmanuel Baptist Church.
