Hazel Floyd Jolly
Hazel Floyd Jolly, of Marion, Ill., died July 28, 2006.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Jolly; parents, Ed and Blanche Floyd; five brothers; two sisters; and one granddaughter.
She is survived by her daughters; sisters, Betty Schroder and husband Udell of Hot Springs Village, Mary McKenzie and husband Bruce of Lonoke, and Dorothy Carroll and husband Louis of Biscoe; brother, Robert Floyd and Mary Francis of Biscoe; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Helen J. Williams
Helen Jenkins Williams, 79, of Little Rock died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006. She was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock for more than 35 years.
She was preceded in death by parents, John and Elizabeth Jenkins; and daughter Sandra Kay Scott.
She is survived by her sons Ronald Owens and wife Larita of Topeka, Kan., and Donald Charles of Little Rock; daughters Carlotta Sadler and husband Carlas of North Little Rock; Constance Charles Brown of Houston, Texas; brothers Herman Jenkins and wife Cecile of Little Rock, and Ernest Jenkins and wife Laurene of Kokomo, Ind.; sisters Betty Hampton of Lonoke, Mary Jean Wesley and husband William of Roland, Aletha Wright and husband Billy of Ft. Worth, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 9, at St. Mark Baptist Church. Arrangements by Premier Funeral Home in Little Rock.
Leroy Bacus
Leroy Bacus, 68, of Beebe died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006. He was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Austin.
He was preceded in death by his father Elmer Carl Bacus Jr.; and sister Margaret Martin.
He is survived by his wife Corena Gray Bacus; mother, Maybell Bacus; brother, Carl Bacus III of McRae; sisters, Leola Christene Young and Norma Gene Forester both of Beebe, Margie Stephens of Conway, and Lorrine Bacus and Patricia Secreast both of Florida.
A private service was held on Monday, Aug. 7.
Robert D. Morrison
Robert Dwayne Morrison, 44, of Cabot died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006. He attended The Apostolic Church in North Little Rock.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Morrison.
He is survived by his son, Robbie Morrison; daughter, Sarah Morrison; sister, Tamera Morrison; and mother, Elender “Ellie” Morrison, all from Cabot.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 7, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock. Interment followed at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
Vaine E. George
Vaine E. ‘Van’ George, 80, of Sheridan died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2006. He was a retired truck driver for Strickland Transportation and Consolidated Freightways and a member of the Teamster’s Union.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Tesch; brother-in-law Robert Reynolds; and stepson, Jerry Scates.
He is survived by his wife, Verda (McElroy) George of Sheridan; daughter Karen Stone and husband Ira of Sherwood; stepdaughters, Audrey Smith and Jackie McGuire; stepson, Alan McElroy all of Sheridan; sisters, Alice Reynolds of Little Rock, and Grace Bagwell of Lonoke; and 16 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Corinth Cemetery
in Sheridan.

Bernice Wood
Bernice Wood, 61, of Little Rock died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Wood; daughter, Angela Whitterker of Michigan; mother, Lockie Paul of Maumelle; brothers, Louis Clark of Austin, and Billy Paul of Little Rock; and sister, Selia O’Donnell of Australia.
Dorothy Agur
Dorothy Agur, 89, of Lonoke died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006. She was a retired teacher of 22 years and a member of the Southern Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years John Henry Agur; children, Judy Moody and husband Earlin of Scott, and Fern Davis and husband David of Lonoke; sister Eydthe Kramer of Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, Aug. 5, at Lonoke Apostolic Church. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Garden.
Arrangements were by Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.
John W. Turner
John W. Turner, 63, of Cabot, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2006. A retired airman of the U.S. Air Force and retired postal worker, he was a member of Bayou Meto Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Audrey Turner, and sister Emily Turner.
He is survived by his daughter Judy Turner of Cabot; sons John Turner Jr. of Taiwan and Jason Oulette of Maumelle; stepsons, John Oulette of Sheridan and Jeremy Oulette of Colorado; brother Lewis Turner of Hattiesburg, Miss.; sisters Barbara Thomas of Franklin, Tenn., Geraldine Mariakis of Ringgold, Ga., Mary Grissom of Petal, Miss., and Judy Jeske of Hattiesburg, Miss.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 7, at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Mississippi.

Justin Wayne Davis
Justin Wayne Davis, 18, of Cabot died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandfather Travis Wayne “Butch” Davis Sr.; uncle Gary Davis; four great-grandmothers and three great-grandfathers.
He is survived by his parents Travis Wayne Jr. and Jeani Davis of Cabot; brothers Brandon, Dylin and Sawyer Davis; sister Hannah Davis; and paternal grandmother Evelyn “Carol” Davis all of Cabot; maternal grandparents Kenneth and Linda Tausan; and maternal great-grandfather Dewayne Magnuson all of Ogallala, Neb.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 14, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot with interment immediately following at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thomas Funeral Service in Cabot.
Evelyn L. Harris
“This was no ordinary life. This was a life well-lived and well-loved, a life that will be deeply missed.” Unknown.
Evelyn Lucille Harris, 90, of Cabot passed away Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at the Arkansas Hospice Center in North Little Rock. She was born Nov. 28, 1915 in Chaffee, Mo.
She was a member of the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Cabot.
She was a graduate of St. Ambrose High School in Chaffee, Mo. In 1934, she was wed to Ralph Stanley Harris. During the 1950s she advocated equal education rights and spent the rest of her life as a homemaker raising several generations of children. She loved to sew, cook, play bridge, fish and volunteered her time and skills to many causes and organizations through the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Ava and Alvin Papin; brothers, Lewis “Bud” and Joe Papin; sister, Alvina Schwaller; sons, William Eugene “Gene” and Brian Carlton Harris.
She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Chris Harris of Little Rock, Sandy Pearson, Kelly Coughlin, and Kristen “Kish” Gardner, seven great-grandchildren, all of Cabot, and three nieces, Pat Birkholz of Foristel, Mo., Sara Armellini of Eureka Springs, Janet Sharp of Salt Lake City, Utah; and two nephews, Dan Powell Melton or Jonesboro and Darrell Melton of Tennessee.
Visitation was at Cabot Funeral Home, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2006. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, at the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Cabot.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Arkansas Hospice Center or Potluck Food Rescue.
Beverly Langston
Beverly Shannon Brown Langston, age 36, departed this life to be with the Lord Monday, Aug. 7, 2006.
She left to cherish her memory a son Darien C. Langston; one daughter Lindsay M. Hassenstab; her father and mother Oliver and Sandra Brown; and sisters Ellen D. Boyette and Amanda C. Wright (Curt) all of Cabot; her grandmother Bessie Brown of Lonoke; and seven nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Friday, Aug. 11, at Brownsville Cemetery. Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
