Hunt
TRUMANN — Funeral services for Jack Hunt, 86, of Trumann, who died Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at his home, will be at 1:30 p.m. today in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Gerald Bailey, Perry Sims, Donald Hooker, Johnny Whitlatch, Buddy Spence and Calvin Rutherford.
Honorary pallbearers will include Mark Hunt, Jerry Lee Hunt Jr. and TeJaye Moye.
Born at Frenchman’s Bayou, he was a former Caraway resident and lived in Trumann for the last 55 years. He was an assembler for Wal-Mart and was retired from Singer and from Parker-Hannifin. He was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church at Trumann.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Hunt of Trumann; two sons, Gerald Hunt and Jerry Hunt, both of Trumann; three grandchildren, Cindy Moye, Mark Hunt and Jerry Lee Hunt Jr., all of Trumann; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Lee and Lula Pearl Wellaford Hunt, four sisters and three brothers.

Johnson
CHEROKEE VILLAGE — Jack Johnson Sr., 49, of Cherokee Village died Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Illinois, he moved to Lawrence County in early life, lived in Seminole, Okla., until 1974, when he returned to Lawrence County. In 1997, he moved to Cherokee Village, worked for Tri-County Recycle in Ash Flat and was of the Baptist belief.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Prater Johnson of the home; a daughter, Shannon Henson of O’Kean; a son, Jackie Dale Johnson Jr. of the home; a sister, Elaine Johnson of Oregon; three brothers, Harlen Johnson Jr., Keith Johnson and Terry Johnson, all of Illinois; and three grandchildren, Jacob Henson, River Cole Brewer and Tyler Brewer.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge, with J.P. Morgan officiating. Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie is in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Jim Prater, Rick Brewer, Chad Brewer, Bradley Brewer, Steve Felton and Carlos Vidal.

Miller
MARKED TREE — Annie Miller, 90, of Marked Tree died Saturday, June 15, 2002 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Osceola. She was a housewife.
There are no immediate survivors.
Graveside services were at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Shady Grove Cemetery at Evadale. Gary Andrews officiated, and Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza was in charge of the arrangements.

Newman
WILLIFORD — Funeral services for Johnnie Lee Newman, 64, 2002 of Williford, who died Monday, June 24, near Williford, will be at 10 a.m. today in the chapel of Higginbotham Funeral Service in Hardy, with Floyd Rikard officiating. Burial will follow in Baker Cemetery near Williford.
Survivors include his wife, Mable Newman of the home; a daughter, Janet Bridges of Alton, Mo.; his mother, Louise Due of Ravenden; four brothers, Jerry Newman of Phoenix, Jim Due of St. Louis, Roger Due of Washington and Junior Due of Ravenden; four sisters, Missy Honeycutt of Jonesboro, Linda Taffar of Flint, Mich., Stella Mitchell of Pocahontas and Marilyn Rice of Batesville; and a granddaughter, April Bridges of Alton.

Speer
RECTOR — Foye A. Speer, 66, of Rector died Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Born in Piggott, she had worked as an accounting clerk and was a member of the Rector Extension Homemakers Club, the Rector Women’s Club, the Woodland Heights Cemetery Association and Rector First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Douglas Speer of Greenbrier, Tenn.; a daughter, Cheri Clayton of Rector; five sisters, Camilla Cox of Piggott, Jane Groves of Valparaiso, Ind., Colleen Arthur of Rolla, Mo., Getonia Clark of Florissant, Mo., and Joyclyn Olds of Silex, Mo.; and five grandchildren, Amy Little, Nathan Little, Jessica Speer, Anthony Speer and Emily Clayton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Aaron Speer; her parents, Troy and Veda Bess Bricker; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rector First General Baptist Church, with Kenny Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Heights Cemetery at Rector under the direction of Irby Funeral Service of Rector.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today at the church.

J. Taylor
McCRORY — Jerry Adison Taylor, 89, of McCrory died Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at the Woodruff County Nursing Home in McCrory. He was born and attended school in Pumpkin Bend community, was a retired farmer, played the fiddle in the Neighborhood Band and was a member of the Pumpkin Bend Assembly of God.
Survivors include two daughters, Verleen Henderson of McCrory and Janie Scarbrough of Rose Bud; a son, Sammy Doyle Taylor of Sand Springs, Okla.; a sister, Lola Mae Taylor of McCrory; two half-sisters, Carrie Robb of McCrory and Julie Johnson of Batesville; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roddy and Rose Ball Taylor.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in McCrory, with the Rev. Ellis McCorkle officiating. Burial will follow in Pumpkin Bend Cemetery.

R. Taylor
Robert F. Taylor Sr., 83, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, was a retired bookkeeper for Bowman Gin Co. and a farmer. He was a Mason and a member of Magnolia Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert F. Taylor Jr. of Jonesboro, and a grandson, Robert F. Taylor III of Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Taylor, and a brother.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Jonesboro Memorial Park, with the Rev. Emil Williams officiating. Langford’s Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral service.

Walker
ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Gloria Jean Walker, 59, of Anchorage died Sunday, June 23, 2002 at Providence Hospital in Anchorage. Born in Torrence, Calif., she had lived in Anchorage since 1991.
Survivors include one daughter, LaCretia Prudhomme of New Iberia, La.; her mother, Sybil Clark Smith of Brookland; seven brothers, Chuck Dawson and Michael Dawson, both of Jonesboro, Keith Dawson of San Antonio, Texas, Kenneth Dawson of Auburn, Maine, Larry Dawson of Sarasota, Fla., Leslie “Butch” Dawson of Tucson, Ariz., and Richard Dawson of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Sharon DeMahy of Franklin, La., and Linda James of Jonesboro; and three grandsons, Blake Prudhomme, Grant Prudhomme and Stephen Prudhomme of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert G. Dawson, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Glenn Hurst and Harold Ray officiating. Burial will be in Keller’s Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Wallace infant
CHEROKEE VILLAGE — Dade Michael Norris Wallace, the infant son of William Joseph Wallace and Tabitha Marielee Norris of Cherokee Village, died Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his paternal grandparents, John and Twyla Wallace of Cherokee Village; maternal grandparents, Calvin and Lisa Mullins of Cherokee Village; paternal great-grandmother, Anne Wallace of Hopkinsville, Ky.; maternal great-grandmothers, Wanda Reans of Evening Shade and Janet Richardson of Grant Pass, Ore.; and his maternal great-grandfather, Charles Norris of Modesto, Calif.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Oaklawn Cemetery at Highland, with the Rev. Larry White officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Tri-County’s Cherokee Chapel at Highland.
Visitation will be today from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the family.

Williams
LONSDALE — Mary Mae Burnett Williams, 69, of Lonsdale, formerly of Wynne, died Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at the home of a sister here. She was a nurse at St. Joseph’s Mercy Medical Center in Hot Springs for more than 20 years before retiring three years ago. She was born in Hickory Ridge, was a member of the Church of Christ in West Memphis and was active in the Brethren Voluntary Mission for several years.
Surviving are one son, Paul Wayne Williams of Bossier City, La.; two daughters, Jo Ann “Jody” Pearce of DeQueen and Sherry Lea Buck of Hot Springs; five sisters, Christine Mooney of Cherry Valley, Theda Gipson and Ruby Nell Meachum, both of Wynne, Barbara Grant of Lonsdale and Cheryl Wallace of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two brothers, David Burnett of Hickory Ridge and Buford Burnett of Wynne; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Edward Williams, her parents and three brothers.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne, with Rev. Ellis Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Lewis Cemetery at Hickory Ridge.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

C. Barnes
OSCEOLA -- Charles Thomas Barnes Jr., 32, of Osceola died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002 at The Regional Medical Center at Memphis. He was a member of Turrell Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Chase Barnes of Tyronza; two daughters, Macey Barnes of Tyronza and Natalie Barnes of Etowah; his parents, Charles and Joyce Barnes of Etowah; one sister, Tonya Barnes of Caraway; and his grandmother, Maxine Barnes of Etowah.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Roller-Swift Funeral Home chapel in Osceola, with Ricky Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery at Lepanto.
Active pallbearers will be Brian Crews, Danny Carter, Jason Sanders, Kerry Gaynard and Grayson Blake.
Honorary pallbearers will include Scotty Fraley, Larry Barrett, Rick Langston, Warren Lacey and Jeff Wilkinson.
Visitation will be from 6-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
