Imo C. Campbell

Imo Caudle Campbell, 87, of North Little Rock, formerly of Russellville, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006 at Woodland Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Jacksonville.

She was born Jan. 29, 1919, in Russellville, was a 1936 graduate of Russellville High School, a 1940 graduate of the University of Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in English and minor in music.

She was a member of Chi Omega Fraternity, Delta Kappa Gamma, and Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity.

She was a member of the American Association of University Women and the Culture Club of Russellville.

She was a vice-principal, taught music and English at Gardner Junior High School in Russellville, and was a member of First Christian Church in Russellville where she was the pianist and organist for over forty-six years.

When she moved to Parkstone Retirement Center in North Little Rock, she played the piano for chapel and other services for ten years.

While a resident at Woodland Hills, she continued to enjoy the piano.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David F. Campbell; her mother, Floy McAlister Caudle, who died ten days after Imo was born; her parents, Reece Arnold Caudle, former Speaker of the House in the state legislature, and May Burgess Caudle; a sister, Louise Caudle Mobley.

Survivors include two daughters: Carol C. Fisher of North Little Rock; Louise and Paul Watkins of Austin, Arkansas; a brother-in-law, former Chancery Judge Richard Mobley of Russellville; four grandchildren: Jan Fisher Budreau, her husband, Gordon, of Denver, Colorado; Julie Carol Fisher of Seattle; Jane C. Watkins of Springdale; and David P. Watkins of Fayetteville; a great-grandson, David Michael Budreau of Denver.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at First Christian Church in Russellville, by Pastor Dick King.

Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Russellville, by Shinn Funeral Service.

Visitation is Thursday morning from 10 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 103 South Boston Avenue, Russellville, Arkansas 72801; or Arkansas Hospice Foundation, 5600 West 12th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.

We would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the administration and staff of Woodland Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Arkansas Hospice, and Cathy Johnson for their kindness and caring for our mother during her stay there.

James D. Staton

James Daniel Staton, born July 30, 1908, went to his heavenly home Oct. 10, 2006, at the age of 98.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 76 years Daisy Lou Staton; one son Fred Staton; and a grandson James Derrick Measels.

He is survived by his children P.D. Straton (Joyce) and Macel Lassiter (Jew) of Lonoke, Velma Hill (Ted) of Dumas and Mary Lou Measels (Gerald) of Searcy; 17 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law Virginia Staton of California.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke, with burial in Legate Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Legate Cemetery Fund.

Jimmie Bowlan, Sr.

Jimmie Keith Bowlan, Sr., 49, of Carlisle died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006.

He worked for the Lonoke County Road Department for 23 years.

His parents Tom and Ruby Bowlan, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years Mary; children Jimmie Bowlan, Jr., and Ashley Bowlan all of Carlisle; brothers Tommie Lee of Mansfield, Ronnie and Dannie of Carlisle; and sisters Louise Snider of Hazen Bonnie Kay of Floyd.

Funeral services were held Tuesday Oct. 17, at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke with interment in Hamilton Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.

Walter Mahoney

Walter Marvin Mahoney, Sr., 80, of Ward passed away Oct. 15, 2006.

He was born Sept. 13, 1926 in Cabot to the late George Robert & Harriett Valentine Mahoney.

He is also preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, one grandson and one son-in-law.

Survivors include his wife Pauline Ames Mahoney of Ward; four sons, Walter, Jr. “Dusty” (Barbara) Mahoney of Romance, Roger (Barbara) Mahoney of Bauxite, Robert Allen (Sandy) Mahoney of Jacksonville and Kenny Mahoney of Cabot; five daughters, Linda Burns of Cabot, Barbara (Wesley) Bryant of Cabot, Elizabeth (David) Hughes of Rosebud, Diana (Jimmy) Sullivan of McRae, and Debbie Wilson of Missouri; one brother, Bill Mahoney of Cabot; one sister Pauline Sutherland of Jacksonville; four step children, Julie (Larry) Mahoney of Cabot, Donna (Mark) Pulliam of Cabot, Susan Cessna of Cabot and Douglas Walker of California; Thirty-one grandchildren; forty-eight great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and seven step grandchildren.

Visitation was Tuesday, Oct. 17. Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18 at Russell Chapel Church of the Nazarene in Cabot with Bro. Tom Heffner and Bro. Steve Zumalt officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Arkansas Cancer Research Center 4301 W. Markham Little Rock, AR 72205.

Daisy Canard

Daisy Goldie (McTigue) Canard, 93, of Pleasant Grove died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006.

She was a cook and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Canrd; parents Finis and Sally Potts McTigue; daughter Sally Sue Corter; son Wimps Ewing Canard; three stepsons; three sisters; and one brother.

She is survived by her daughter Gertrude Broyles; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 17, a Roller Coffman Chapel in Mountain View.

Burial was at Mount Joy Cemetery in Mountain View.

Arrangements were by Roller Coffman Funeral Home in Mountain View.

Nolan E. Sullivan

Nolan Eugene Sullivan “Sonny,” 71, of Humnoke died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006.

He was preceded in death by his father Noal A. Sullivan and son Douglas Eugene Sullivan.

He is survived by his wife Birdie Hartwick Sullivan of Conway; mother Mattie Sullivan of Humnoke; son Jacky Sullivan and wife Margie of Humnoke; daughter Brenda Crawford and husband Donnie of White Hall; brothers Bobby Sullivan and wife Brenda of Humnoke, Donny Sullivan and wife Sue of Cabot, and Jimmy Sullivan and wife Betty of Humnoke; sisters Geneva Stephens of Humnoke, and Pat Railey of Doddridge; five grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 15, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial was in Union Valley Cemetery.
