Harvey B. Earp
Harvey B. Earp, 63, of Stuttgart, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Crestpark Retirement Center.
Mr. Earp was born Jan. 19, 1945, in Little Rock.
He was last employed as a truck broker and attended Harmony Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him.
Survivors are Susan Hale of Stuttgart, his partner/friend of 17 years; one son, Jason Earp and his children Jarod and Zach, all of Little Rock; Susan’s father, Floyd Hale of Stuttgart; Susan’s brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Gail Hale and their children, Bethany Sherman and Kenneth Hale, all of Stuttgart;; and his many friends from the coffee shop.
Funeral services, officiated by Bro. David Inzer, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Turpin Funeral Home in Stuttgart.
Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church or the donor’s choice.

Maxine Ruth Lockhart
Maxine Ruth Lockhart, 86, of Humphrey died Friday, March 7, 2008, at Stuttgart Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Lockhart was born on Jan. 31, 1922, and had been a lifelong resident of Humphrey.
She was a retired Humphrey Public School cafeteria worker with 40-plus years of service and also worked with her husband on the farm.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 59 years, K.K. Lockhart; and two grandchildren.
Survivors are two sons, Dwight (Hotsey) Lockhart of Stuttgart and Randy Lockhart of Humphrey; two daughters, Claudette Bagwell and Marjorie Dobson, both of Stuttgart; one brother, Jerry Pat Sherman of North Little Rock; two sisters, Margarette Lane of Stuttgart and Earsel Lane of Cleveland, NC; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was at 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, at Frazier Cemetery by Bro. Jackie Marshall and Ray Vester by Turpin Funeral Home.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Alcorn Fire Department or to Frazier Cemetery.

Clyde Roger Dubert
Clyde Roger Dubert, 67, of Stuttgart died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at his home.
He was born July 2, 1940, in the Bayou Meto community to Sidney Lewis and Melissa Headi Dubert.
He was employed as a machine operator at Lennox Industries, Inc., and was a Baptist
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Bridgett Dubert; a brother, Sidney Dubert Jr.; and five sisters, Betty Henderson, Geraldine Watson, Lois Keaton, Bernice Stapp and Unice Temple.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Joyce Anderson Dubert; a son, Michael Dubert of Memphis; two step-sons, Jeff Foster of Stuttgart and Doug Foster of Little Rock; one sister, Ruby Owens of DeWitt; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel in Stuttgart with interment in Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis at 2 p.m. Friday.

Lesley Doyle Long
Lesley Doyle Long, 68, of Stuttgart died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Long was born Jan. 2, 1940, at Des Arc, Ark., to Clarence Orly Long and Wanda Beatrice Lock Long.
He was a retired supervisor of Dryer 5 at Producer’s Rice Mill where he was employed for 38 years and was a Baptist.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Martindale.
Survivors are his wife, Edith Anderson Long; two daughters, Velinda Perkins of Hillman, Mich., and Stephanie Martindale of Stuttgart; one son, Jessie Martindale of Fontana, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Tasha, Christopher, Christi, Tiffany, Danniell, Diane, David, Jessica and Eleanor; and seven great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Spencer, Blain, Lyric, Colton, Cade and Ella.
Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Thomas Bormann, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery.

Sandra Sue Persons
HUMPHREY - Sandra Sue Persons, 64, died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Baptist Health in Little Rock.
Mrs. Persons was born Jan. 6, 1944, in Plummerville, Ark., to Frank and Avis Rainbolt Thomas.
She was a homemaker and member of Bayou Meta Assembly of God.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Thomas; and a son-in-law, Roy Baker.
Survivors are her husband, Gerald Persons; one son, Mike Persons (Amanda) of Humphrey; two daughters, Terri Baker and Nikki Person, both of Humphrey; and five grandchildren, Heath Baker, Austin Hayes, Heather Baker, Jacob Persons and Hannah Jackson.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Bayou Meto Assembly of God Church with burial following in Williams Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
The family requests memorials to Baptist Health at Little Rock or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis.

Jimmy Todd Maness
HUMPHREY – Jimmy Todd Maness, 44, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008.
He was born Dec. 12, 1963, in Dermott, Ark., to Jimmy and Pat Maness.
He was a graduate of Jersey Village High School in Houston, Texas, and was a carpenter.
He was of the Assembly of God faith.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, J.D. Maness and Norris Swan, and a niece, Ashley Caviness.
Survivors are his parents, Jimmy and Pat Maness; four sons; three daughters; his grandmothers, Ailene Maness and Lucille Swan Young, both of Humphrey; his sister and brother-in-law, Angie and Mark Caviness of Humphrey; a niece, Brooke Caviness of Humphrey; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Frazier Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel.

Lowell Jake Roth
Lowell Jake Roth, 69, of Stuttgart passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at Stuttgart Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born July 15, 1938, to Verne L. and Rosa M. Roth. He was preceded in death by a son, Jason L. Roth; his parents, Verne L. and Rosa M. Roth; and a sister who died in infancy.
On Jan. 27, 1969, he was united in marriage to his wife Maria Nena Delos Angeles in Olongapo City, Philippines. They shared their wonderful life for 39 years.
He was born in Stuttgart and attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and Stuttgart Public School. Upon graduation from high school. Lowell joined the military service. He was a Navy veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge after 12 years of military service and moved his back to the United States.
Survivors are his wife, Maria Roth; a step-son, Andres “Andy” Delos Angeles of Stuttgart; two brothers, Donald Roth and Chris Roth of Stuttgart; four sisters, Sandra Younger of Stuttgart, Sharon Miller and Rita Hope of Little Rock and Lucy Engler of Heber Springs.
A funeral mass, officiated by Monsignor John Janesko, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday with rosary service beginning at 7 p.m. at Turpin Funeral Home chapel.
Memorials may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
