Evelyn Lockhart
Evelyn Dorothy Grahnert Lockhart, 83, of Grady, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at her daughter’s home in Pine Bluff.
Mrs. Lockhart was born Nov. 11, 1924, in Blackwell, Okla., the daughter of Charles Carl and Florence Mae Baker Grahnert, but was raised in Humphrey. In the early 1980’s she owned Grady Shell Cafe in Grady. She was a member of Grady Lions Club and First Baptist Church of Grady.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Albert Edgar Lockhart; brother, Vernon Grahnert; and sister, Wanda Mae Grahnert.
Survivors are two sons, Tommy Lockhart and wife Edith of Star City and Floyd Lockhart of Athens, Ala.; two daughters, Brenda Heigl and husband Joe of Avon Park, Fla., and Patty Wilson and husband Edward of Pine Bluff; sister, Marie Eagle of Star City; brother, Hollace Grahnert of Ladd, Ark., 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services, officiated by the Rev. Raymond Reed, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Frazier Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Turpin Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Claude “Bo” Bowen, Gene Grahnert, Donald Grahnert, Keith Shepherd, Sidney Massengill and Stormy Gill.
The family requests memorials to Hospice Angels, 3801 Camden Rd., Chapel Village 1, Suite 12, Pine Bluff, Ark. 71603.
The family will be at 3400 Shamrock Rd., Pine Bluff.

Sharon Lynette George
Sharon Lynette George, 62, of Humphrey, widow of David George, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at Baptist Health in Little Rock.
Mrs. George was born Nov. 12, 1945, in Stuttgart, the daughter of Dallas Landers and Blanch Orick Dickson. She was a graduate of Stuttgart High School and attended the Arkansas State Teacher’s College in Conway. She was raised in First Christian Church in Stuttgart and is now a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Humphrey. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for 35 years.
Survivors are two sons, James George and Jeffrey George, both of Humphrey; and a granddaughter, Lauren George of Conway.
Graveside services, officiated by Bro. Travis Holmes, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Frazier Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Turpin Funeral Home.

Annabell Louise Black Bullock
HUMPHREY – Annabell Louise Black Bullock, 64, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at her home.
Mrs. Bullock was born April 30, 1942, in Humphrey, the daughter of Harry J. and Gertrude McKibben Black. She was a graduate of Stuttgart High School and was a former resource teacher’s aide at Humphrey High School. She enjoyed playing the organ at Humphrey Baptist Church, where she was a member.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Floyd Bullock; twin brother, James Edward Black; and infant twin daughters.
Survivors are her son, Bennie Bullock and wife Vickie of Humphrey; three brothers, Jay Black and wife Joy and Charles “Al” Black and wife Sharon, all of Humphrey, and David Black of Searcy; and her 15-month-old grandson, Brody Larkin Bullock.
Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Luke Criswell, will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with burial following in Sunshine Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Turpin Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made to Humphrey Baptist Church.

Lillian Ann Rutherford Eichler
Lillian Ann Rutherford Eichler, 74, of Stuttgart passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at Stuttgart Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Eichler was born Nov. 21, 1933, in Stuttgart, the daughter of Jesse and Mildred Rutherford. She attended Stuttgart schools and traffic law school. She was Flying Farmer Queen in 1984 and served on the boards of Arkansas Aerial Applicator Association and National Aerial Applicator Association. A member of Grand Prairie Evangelical Methodist Church, she served on several committees and always enjoyed making communion bread.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 ˝ years, Roland A. Eichler.
Survivors are three children, Roland Phillip Eichler and wife Ann of Carlisle, Alexandria Kay Jackson and husband Jerry of Stuttgart and Tammie Ann Timmerman of Little Rock; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Jesse Edward Rutherford and wife Wanda and James William Rutherford and wife Rachelle of Stuttgart; sister, Rebecca Diane Meier and husband Carl, of Ulm; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Grand Prairie Evangelical Methodist Church with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Turpin Funeral Home.
It was Mrs. Eichler’s wishes that memorials be made to Grand Prairie Evangelical Methodist Church, P.O. Box 728, Stuttgart, or the donor’s choice.
The family will be at the Edward Rutherford home, 2001 Beumer.

John Earl Leder
John Earl Leder, 67, of Stuttgart died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at Baptist Health in Little Rock.
Mr. Leder was born July 5, 1940, in Stuttgart, the son of Ellsworth and Vera Kinder Leder. A graduate of Stuttgart High School, he was a farmer and was raised in the Lutheran church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marcia Leder Green.
Survivors are two brothers, Ed Leder and wife Minnie of Oak Grove, La., and Ricky Leder and wife Anita of Berryville, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday at Turpin Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lone Tree Cemetery chapel by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.

Billy Joe Jackson
Billy Joe Jackson, 64, of Humphrey died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Jackson was born Jan. 22, 1944, in DeWitt, the son of Floyd Beaugard Jackson and Lois Jane Shook Jackson. A graduate of DeWitt High School, he attended Phillips Community College in Helena. He retired in 1992 after 30 years of military service – 10 years in the Marine Corp and 20 years in the National Guard. He loved his kids and grandkids and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Susan Walker Jackson; two sons, Joseph Bryce Jackson of Lonoke and Jeremy Sayger of Humphrey; three brothers, Charles Floyd Jackson and William Eugene Jackson, both of DeWitt, and John Walton Jackson of Stuttgart; and two grandsons, Jeremy Lane Sayger and Jonathan Mattix Sayger.
Funeral services, officiated by Bro. James Roberts, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with burial following in Crocketts Bluff Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Turpin Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association.

Claire Vernon Spellmeyer Jr.
Claire Vernon (Vern) Spellmeyer Jr. of Casscoe, Ark., was born on December 26, 1926 the son of C. V. Spellmeyer Sr. and Mabel Beard Spellmeyer. He married June Sutton Spellmeyer on January 5, 1951. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on February 3, 2008. He was 81 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife June and his sister Louise (Susie) Spellmeyer Bell.
He is survived by his children Linda Scherm, Tony Spellmeyer and wife Judy of Stuttgart, Patti Gunn and Becky Spellmeyer of Casscoe and Melanie Spellmeyer of Normal, Illinois. He leaves six grandsons, Jason Gunn of St. Charles, Illinois, Mike Scherm and wife Anna, Chris Scherm, Matt Scherm, Jeremy Spellmeyer and Robert Spellmeyer of Stuttgart. He also leaves a special family friend, Linda Weaver of Bloomington, Illinois.
Mr. Spellmeyer worked as an accountant for Arkansas Rice Growers for many years before pursuing a career in construction. He retired as an electrical engineer from Fermi National Accelerator, Batavia Illinois in 1994.
He found great comfort in his faith in God and was a member of Hunters Chapel Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Hunters Chapel Church in Casscoe. The family requests that memorials be made to Hunters Chapel Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 508, Casscoe AR 72026. Funeral arrangements are by Turpin Funeral Home 870-673-1502.
