James David George
James David George, 42, of Humphrey died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at his home.
Jimmy was born April 13, 1966, in Stuttgart to David and Sharon Landers George. He was an electrician before becoming disabled.
His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors are a daughter, Lauren George of Texarkana; and a brother, Jeffrey George of Humphrey.
A memorial graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Frazier Cemetery
near Humphrey. Local arrangements are by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
Junior Adolph Berryman
Junior Adolph Berryman, 84, of Stuttgart died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Berryman was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Conway, to John Morgan Berryman and Eunice Tittle Berryman. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was retired from Riceland Foods, Inc. as a truck driver. He had a passion for gardening and fishing, and loved the sport of football.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Addie Berryman; a grandson, Tyler Bittle; seven brothers, A.W. (Ott), Bruce, Ralph, Lloyd (Slim) and Check Berryman and Joe and Fred Sells; and a sister, Molly Bloomfield.
Survivors are two daughters, Brenda Ainsworth and husband Ken of Stuttgart and Angelia “Denny” Smith and husband Fred of Cookeville, Tenn.; two step-sons, Teddy Baugus of Ratciff, Ky., and Doug Baugus of Casscoe; two grandchildren, Beau Smith and Jessica Williams and husband Robert III; and three sisters Ermal Travis of Johnson, Helen Welch of Hot Springs and Merthal Shideler of West Memphis.
Funeral services, officiated by Bro. David Inzer, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Turpin Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Lone Tree Cemetery
by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church or St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Cynthia Anderson Chappelle
Cynthia Anderson Chappelle, 85, of Stuttgart, formerly of El Paso, Texas, passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at Stuttgart Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Chappelle was born Dec. 1, 1922, in El Paso to Robert Paul and Emma Jackson Anderson and was a Methodist.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Chappelle, and a son, Pat Chappelle.
Survivors are her daughter, Cippy Smith and husband Malcolm of Stuttgart; five grandchildren, Kimberly Morgan and husband Chris of Stuttgart, Rich Smith of St. Louis, Cade Chappelle and wife Chelsea and Charissa Brest and husband Steve, all of Redding, Calif., and Cale Chappelle and wife Germaine of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and seven great-grandchildren, Cole and Gray Morgan, Matthew Sellers, Mason, Ryann and Landon Chappelle and Kai Chappelle.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Anthony Cemetery
in Anthony, New Mexico, by Kaster-Maxon Funeral Home in El Paso. Local arrangements are by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.

Westes Eldon Womack
Our Lord and Savior looked down at Crestpark Nursing Home and took his son, Westes Eldon Womack, by the hand and called him home on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008.
Eldon leaves to celebrate his life his wife, Patricia Bayless Womack; his children, Eldon (Linda) Womack and Margaret (Lewis) Connor, all of Stuttgart, Delena (Carroll) Cooper of Memphis, and Rickey and Chris Bayless of the home; his brother and sisters, Patsy (James) Epperson, Jimmy (Jean) Womack and Dennie Maddox; grandchildren, Rhonda Rose, Carol Marshall, Kimberly Hamby, Richard Bayless, Shelby, Kaden and Tanner Bayless, Crystal, Adam and Amy Cooper; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Eva (Connor) Womack; sister, Betty Lou Womack; wife, Alice Jane Smith; and son, Gregory Dale Bayless.
Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Gregg Greenway, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Lone Tree Cemetery

James B. McCarty
J.B. McCarty, 82, of Stuttgart, a World War II veteran and retired barber, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008. He was the son of Russell and Lorene McCarty of Humphrey. He moved to Stuttgart in 1953 and lived there until his death.
He was born April 29, 1926, in Brummitt, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorene and Russ McCarty; his brothers, Alvin, Elmers “Shorty”, Herbert, George, Royce, Vernon and Ray; and his sisters, Irene McCarty, Ellen McCarty and Neoma Cates.
James “Mac” loved to visit with his customers, friends and family. The best times were when he was surrounded by close friends and family. He loved to fish and hunt. If he wanted to do something, he learned how to do it. He was a “jack of all trades”. Many friends and family members have kitchen cabinets and furniture items that he crafted. He was especially proud of his Bayou Meto duck calls he made and sold. He was a generous and giving person. Many times he visited his ill customers to give them a hair cut.
Survivors are his wife, Grace Hart McCarty; his children, James R. McCarty of Casscoe, Linda Ansel and husband George of Benton and Charlotte Stauber of Ulm; his granddaughters, Shanna, Sandi and Alison; his grandson, Bert; his great-grandson, Aiden; his great-granddaughter, Lilly; his sister Dorothy Sloan of Arlington, Texas; and his brother, David McCarty of Humphrey.
Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Randy Hogan and Bro. Gregg Greenway, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery

Johnny Joe Siems
Johnny Joe Siems, age 92, of North Little Rock, formerly of Stuttgart and England, died Sept. 17, 2008, at St. Vincent Hospital North.
Johnny was born Jan. 28, 1916, at Stuttgart to the late Paul and Ida Boch Siems. When he retired from the farming business, he moved to Memphis, Tenn., where he was manager of Epperson House Moving Co. until his retirement in 1980.
Johnny was a member of First Christian Church of Stuttgart, member of England Lodge 107 where he was past Worshipful Master, a 32nd-degree Mason and a charter member of England-Keo Hunting Club.
Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lillian Tarkington Siems; five sisters; two brothers; and a granddaughter, Leslie Ann Eanes.
He is survived by two sons, Kenny Joe (Linn) of North Little Rock and John Alan of Fayetteville; a daughter, Shirley Ann (Ed) Epperson of North Little Rock; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Siems of South Carolina and Dorothy Siems of Stuttgart; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 20, at 2 p.m. at Turpin Funeral Home with visitation from 12:30-1:45 p.m. before the service. Burial will follow in Lone Tree Cemetery.
His family requests memorials be made to First Christian Church, 911 S. Main St., Stuttgart, Ark. 72160, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
His family would like to offer a special thanks and appreciation to the nursing staff at Sherwood Nursing Home and also to his family doctor and close personal friend, Dr. Joe Lee Buford.
Lee Garland Regan
Lee Garland Regan, 86, of Stuttgart died Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Regan was born June 19, 1922, to Edward and Emma Regan in Egan, La. He was a Catholic, an Army World War II veteran and a retired regional manager for the USDA.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Alice; two brothers, Richard and Curley; and four sisters, Ethel, Estelle, Vernise, and Zula.
He is survived by his son, Doug Regan and wife Melissa of North Little Rock; one brother, Ted Regan of Sulphur, La.; and one granddaughter, Hannah Regan of Conway.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Turpin Funeral Home Chapel by Monsignor John A. Janesko with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Turpin Funeral Home.
The family suggests that memorials to the American Red Cross.
