Richard Allen Ahrens
Richard Allen Ahrens, 71, of Pineville, La., died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008.
He was born Oct. 16, 1937, in Stuttgart to Ronald S. and Anna Lee Morris Ahrens. He was a Navy veteran of the 
Korean War and member of First Christian Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Olive Jean Fogarty and Lillian Naccareti; and two brothers, Charles Ahrens and Johnny Ahrens.
Survivors are two brothers, Robert Ahrens and David Ahrens of Stuttgart; and one sister, Mary Lou Morgan of Cabot.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Lone Tree Cemetery
chapel by Turpin Funeral Home with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery.
Arthur Feilke Jr.
Arthur Feilke Jr., age 91, of Stuttgart died Wednesday, November 12, 2008. He was born October 31, 1917, to Arthur and Rosa Feilke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur H. Feilke and Rosa Eifling Feilke; his wife of 65 years, Mable Shirkey Feilke; his son, John G. Feilke; and a brother, U.S. Army Colonel Glenn T. Feilke.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas A. Feilke of Atlanta, Georgia, and David L. Feilke (Tricia) of Stuttgart; one granddaughter, Jennifer Van Paris (James) of Scottsdale, Arizona; six grandsons, Kelly Feilke (Brenda) of Indianapolis, Indiana; Kurt Feilke (Tasha) of Berkeley, California; Chad Feilke (Jade) of Hermosa Beach, California; Jason Feilke of Little Rock; Matthew Feilke (Sally) of Stuttgart; and Patrick Feilke of Fayetteville; four great-grandchildren, Lola, Locke, Ryder and Harper Feilke; and sister Edna Feilke Shirkey of Stuttgart.
Up until the last four months he had a great life. He would tell you he was very blessed in his journey. A wife he loved cherished and missed dearly. A great devotion to his faith and family. A deep love of the farm and tremendous pride in knowing a fifth generation was now working the land.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, at 10 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 209 South Grand, Stuttgart, Arkansas, 870-673-2344.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, at Turpin Funeral Home, 1107 West 22nd Street, Stuttgart, Arkansas 72160 870-673-1502.
The family wishes to thank all of the staff and nurses at Crestpark Nursing Home in Stuttgart and Dr. Dan Daniels for all there special care and love to Dad during his stay.

Gary Francis Senko
Brinkley – Gary Francis Senko, 64, of Brinkley, Arkansas laid down his heavy burdens and stepped into the peace and comfort of Christ on Monday, November 17, 2008 at Baptist Health Center in Little Rock. He spent his last hours surrounded by his loving family, dear friends, and devoted hospital staff.
Gary was born on August 25, 1944 in Stuttgart, Arkansas at Bradley Sisters Hospital to Frances Garrich Senko and John Senko, Jr.
He was a 1962 graduate of Subiaco Academy and the kicker for Subiaco Trojan Football Team. In 1962 he received the Pereyra Award for unselfishness. He was a life-long supporter of the Academy and especially the football team. The letters that he wrote each week to the football team gave him the chance to stay connected to his beloved Trojans. Through the years he celebrated their victories and encouraged them when games were lost. The Lonesome Trojan was always there, even if just in spirit.
Through out his life Gary loved teaching young people about Christ. He was certified through the Arkansas Catholic Diocese as a Catechist. Over the years he taught several different religion classes in Stuttgart and Conway, but all had the same goal of helping young people develop a deeper relationship with Christ.
Christmas time was a very special time of year for him as one of Santa’s helpers. He loved seeing the surprise in children’s eyes when they pulled on his long white whiskers to find that his beard was real. He believed that everyone should see things through the wonder of children’s eyes.
A retired rice and soybean farmer for 35 years, Gary loved to be outdoors hunting and fishing. The brilliant changing of the leaves brought his favorite season of the year. He loved the sounds and sights of the ducks and geese flying and the smell of the woods. Some of his most treasured memories were times spent hunting and fishing with his “son” Jimmy.
He was a member of the Holy Rosary Knights of Columbus having served as Grand Knight and a member of the Stuttgart Jaycees. In his later years, he enjoyed living in Brinkley and was active in the Senior Citizens Center there. The Brinkley senior citizens have fond memories of his beautiful whistling, jolly laughter, and great coffee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances Garrich Senko and John Senko, Jr., his devoted wife Linda McGhie Senko, and grandparents Pauline and Mike Garrich and Mary “Ba Ba” and John Senko, Sr. He is survived by his cherished daughter, Angela Kaye Senko Hynum and her husband, Jimmy of Brinkley; two brothers Frederick Senko and his wife Marilyn of Henderson, Nevada, Michael Senko of Stuttgart; two sisters Sister Jo Ann Senko, OSB of St. Scholastic Monastery in Fort Smith, Shirley Rae Senko of Memphis, Tennessee; seven nieces and nephews, Michele Johnson, Mark Senko, Pamela Cross, Paula Wolowiec, Particia Stallard, Fred Wilks Senko and Lydia Senko; and many close friends.
Members of the Subiaco Trojan Football Team will serve as pallbearers. Emmett “Bud” Hynum, Jr. will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Visitation and Rosary will be held at Turpin Funeral Home in Stuttgart on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. The Rosary will be led by Monsignor John Albert Janesko. The Funeral Mass will be held at Subiaco Abbey and officiated by Abbot Jerome Kodell at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at St. Benedict’s Cemetery
in Subiaco.

Jackie Ingram
Jackie Ingram, 58, of Stuttgart died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at Stuttgart Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Ingram was born Oct. 31, 1950, in Rayville, La., to Ed and Maude Peeler Ingram. He was a machinist for Lennox Industries.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Ingram.
Survivors are his wife, Margaret McGhee Ingram; a brother, Nickie Ingram of North Carolina; and two sisters, Wanda Sue Douglas of Waskon, Texas, and Vicki Howard of Monroe, La.
Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Don Ashcraft, are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with burial following in Crocketts Bluff Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-6:30 p.m. Monday at Turpin Funeral Home.
Jean N. Cooper
Jean Noble “J.N.” Cooper, 85, of Des Arc, formerly of Almyra, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at Des Arc Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Cooper was born May 5, 1923, in Melbourne, Ark., to C.R. Cooper Sr. and Ruby Lee Tidwell Cooper. An Air Force veteran of World War II, he was manager of Almyra Farmers Co-op before becoming postmaster of the Almyra Post Office. He was a member of Almyra First Baptist Church before moving to Des Arc and becoming a member of First Baptist Church there.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Cooper; and a sister, Esther Lou Robnett.
Survivors are his wife, Sarah Jane “Janie” Lott Cooper; one son, Jim Cooper and wife Carolyn of Jackson, Mo.; one daughter, Martha Ann Childers and husband Bob of Des Arc; one brother, C. Don Cooper of Little Rock; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Almyra First Baptist Church with burial following in Almyra Cemetery
by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Turpin Funeral Home.

Rodney H. Westfall
Rodney H. Westfall, 67, of Stuttgart died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Westfall was born Feb. 4, 1941, at Parkersburg, W.Va., to Herman G. and Edna A. Westfall. He was a retired electrical engineer and was of the Assembly of God faith.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother-in-law, Larry Brooks.
Survivors are his wife, Gloria L. Westfall; three sons, Larry Hinten of Cross Plains, Texas, David Hinten (Usha) of Huntsville, Ala., and Rodney D. Westfall (Danielle) of DeWitt; one daughter, Glenda Finley of Stuttgart; one sister, Karen Brooks of Uniontown, Ohio; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with burial following in Williams Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Turpin Funeral Home.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Assembly of God Church (Trinity) or to Stuttgart Senior Center.
