John Wayne Helms
John Wayne Helms, 68, of Humphrey died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009.
Mr. Helms was born Feb. 2, 1941, in Stuttgart to William Edward Helms and Elizabeth Preston Helms. He was of the Pentecost faith and was a farm laborer.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters.
Survivors are a daughter, Maddie Taylor of Fort Gibson, Okla.; brother, Joe Helms and wife Judy of Humphrey; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services, officiated by Bro. Sam Morgan, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sunshine Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Turpin Funeral Home.

Alice Jean Goodnight
Alice Jean Goodnight, 59, of Humphrey, widow of Horace Wayne Goodnight, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at her home.
Mrs. Goodnight was born Aug. 12, 1950, to Vernon and Juanita Cullum. She was a nurse.
Survivors are two sons, Michael Bogy and wife Teresa and Tim Bogy and wife Ginger, all of Humphrey; daughter Tonya Bogy Vardaman and husband Jay of White Hall; several brothers and sisters; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 808 S. Wood St. in Stuttgart.

Jessie Alice Bumpous
Jessie Alice Bumpous, 79, of Humphrey, widow of Robert Bumpous, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at Baptist Health-Stuttgart.
Mrs. Bumpous was born June 28, 1930, in Humphrey to Ollie William Allen and Martha Willhite Allen. She was a homemaker.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
Survivors are her brother, David Allen of Humphrey; and two daughters, Patsy Ann Johnson of Portageville, Mo., and Alice Johnson of Elizabethtown, Ky.
Cremation arrangements were handled by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.

Jerry Lee Baldridge Sr.
Jerry Lee Baldridge, Sr., 70, of Denham Springs, LA, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at Lake Norfork, AR. He was a former resident of Vicksburg, MS and Hot Springs, AR.
He was born May 25, 1939, in Paragould, AR to Cloyce Leon and Virginia Cook Baldridge. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Michael Baldridge; and a daughter, Candace Forman.
Jerry was a graduate of Paragould High School Class of 1957. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and Order of the Arrow, and the Elks Club. He retired from The Kroger Co. after a career spanning more than 45 years as Store Manager and Auditor. In recent years he enjoyed volunteering at CelticFest Mississippi in Jackson, MS.
As a cancer survivor, Jerry lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment caring for the family that he dearly loved and was so very proud of.
Survivors are his wife, Angeline Baldridge of Denham Springs, LA; two sons, Jerry Baldridge, Jr. of Stuttgart, AR and Terry Baldridge and wife, Leila, of Vicksburg, MS; two daughters, Kimberly Forman of Baton Rouge and Monica Hodges of Denham Springs; three grandchildren, Keegan Baldridge of Vicksburg, Kaitlyn Hodges of Denham Springs, and Teddy Burchfield and wife, Destiny; and great-grandson, Carter Burchfield, all of Denham Springs. He is also survived by his father and mother in law, Brant and Gwen Barnett of Ferriday, La.
A memorial service will be at Turpin Funeral Home, Stuttgart, AR, on Saturday, October 17, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

Lisa Lynn Halley Rutherford
Lisa Lynn Halley Rutherford, 44, of Stuttgart died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009.
Lisa was born Feb. 8, 1965 in Stuttgart to Ray and Shirley Halley. She was a graduate of Stuttgart High School and a homemaker. She was a Lutheran.
She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother, Michael Halley.
Survivors are her two children, Josh Austin and Megan Rutherford of Stuttgart; her father, Ray Halley of Stuttgart; and her brother, Donald Halley of Stuttgart.
Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Glenn Larson, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Emanuel Lutheran Church with burial following in Tomberlin Cemetery at Coy.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Turpin Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church of the American Cancer Society.

Joseph Bruce Ames Sr.
Joseph Bruce Ames Sr., 61, of Stuttgart died Friday, October 23, 2009, at DeWitt City Hospital.
Mr. Ames was born Feb. 8, 1948 by William Gene Ames and Peggy Hunt Ames Merritt. He had been employed as a sheller operator at Riceland Foods before becoming disabled. He was a Lutheran.
His father; a sister, Leah; and a brother, Mark, preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife, Gail Julian Ames; two sons, Joseph Bruce Ames Jr. of Stuttgart and William Shain Ames of DeWitt; daughter, Katrina Marie Ames of Stuttgart; mother, Peggy Merritt of Kentucky; brother, Dr. Dudley Ames of Kentucky; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m Monday at Emanuel Lutheran Church.

Evan Allen Sullivan
BELTON, Mo. – Evan Allen Sullivan, 21, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2009.
Evan was born Nov. 7, 1987, to Mark Anderson and Jena Farmer in Kansas City, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Charla Farmer.
Besides his parents, survivors are two sons, Donovan and Demitri Sullivan of Springfield, Mo.; brother, Chris Sullivan of Kansas City, Mo.; sister, Elizabeth Sullivan of Sherwood, Ark.; and his grandparents, Carroll “Pat” Farmer of Bryant and Linda Gaston of Independence, Mo.
Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Randy Smith, are 12 p.m. Friday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with burial following in Hamilton Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Turpin Funeral Home.

Ann Minnie Earlywine
Ann Minnie Earlywine of Stuttgart died Oct. 25, 2009, at her home.
Ann was born Oct. 19, 1916, in Stuttgart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mathilda Blumhorst; husband, Roy Earlywine; and sisters, Alma Blumhorst of Stuttgart and Olga Hollanger of Almyra.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors are two children, Glenn Earlywine and wife Regenia of Stuttgart and Dixie Burnett and husband Fred of Sedro Woolley, WA; one grandson, Scott Earlywine and wife Karen of Stuttgart; three great-grandchildren, Melissa and husband Cody Griffin and Cody and Preston Earlywine of Stuttgart; one great-great-granddaughter, Lillian Kait Griffin; one sister, Edna Smith of Stuttgart; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Graham, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Lone Tree Cemetery chapel.
Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Turpin Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Ulm Zion Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 158, Ulm, AR 72170.
