Catherine "Chub" Parker
(November 26, 1924 - September 20, 2010)
Catherine “Chub” Parker, age 85, of Mena, Arkansas, died on September 20, 2010 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born November 26, 1924 to Drew and Ethel Abernathy Standridge in Opal, Arkansas. Catherine worked at the Renova Shirt Factory but has been a homemaker for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Drew and Ethel Standridge. She was a member of the Acorn Baptist Church for many years and while living in that community, then was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mena.
She is survived by:
Her husband of 65 years: Charlie F. Parker of the home
Daughters: Lanelle Norris and husband Orville of Booneville, Arkansas Cathy Marshall and husband Ken of Mena, Arkansas
Grandchildren David Drew Norris and wife Denise of Humble, Texas Leah Woodard and husband Jonathon of Paragould, Arkansas Aaron Marshall and wife Kendra of Van Buren, Arkansas
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 2:00 p. m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel with Brother David McCord officiating. Interment follows in Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.
Pallbearers will be David Drew Norris, Aaron Marshall, Jonathon Woodard, Loren Whisenhunt, James Earl Turner, and Chris Lyle.

Tracy Lynn Nelson
(October 22, 1973 - September 19, 2010)
Tracy Lynn Nelson, age 36 of Waldron, Arkansas went to meet her Lord on Sunday, September 19, 2010.
She was born on Monday, October 22, 1973 in DeQueen, Arkansas to Sharon Webb and the late Bud Webb of Mena and the late Don Nelson of Longview, Texas.
Tracy lived in Waldron with her dearest friend, Terry Meagley. She attended the Jubilee Church in Waldron. She enjoyed nature, the outdoors, gospel music, classic rock and country music; she enjoyed cooking chicken and dumplings and pot roast. She enjoyed scrapbooking, helping others and the love of her life; her dog, Zoey!
Tracy is preceded in death by her father Don Nelson, her step father Bud Webb and her brother Ron Nelson.
Survivors include her mother Sharon Webb of Mena; her children Jorden Nelson-Lawson and Daylon Nelson-Yandall both of Waldron; one sister Cathie Scott and husband Bub Scott of Waldron; one step brother Jim Webb of Mena; her sister in law Kim Nelson of Talkeetna, Alaska; her step mother Gale Nelson of Longview, Texas; two nephews Jerrid and wife Bonnie McMillan and their son Brady McMillan of Laredo, Texas, Justin and wife Whitney Scott of Waldron and their son Zackary Scott of Waldron; one niece Ashley Akerman of Norman, Oklahoma; several aunts and uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service in Tracy’s memory will be held Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 2:00 P. M. at the Jubilee Church in Waldron with Reverend Mike Jordan officiating. There will be a private family service to follow.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Jubilee Church in care of Reverend Michael Jordan, 2188 East Highway 241, Waldron, Arkansas 72598.
Cremation services are entrusted to Hall Funeral Service in Mena.

Cleo Beatrice Ziewitz
(June 20, 1912 - September 17, 2010)
Cleo Beatrice Ziewitz, age 98, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 in Mena.
She was born June 20, 1912 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to the late William O. Lackey and the late Lydia McGee Lackey. She was united in marriage to Louis David Ziewitz for 59 years before his passing. Cleo was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith. Cleo was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by:
Son: Wayne Ziewitz of Lynnhaven, Florida
Daughter: Nora Laverne Love of Stockton, California
Brother: Vernon Lackey of Vicksburg, Mississippi
Sisters: Pauline Lear of Van Buren, Arkansas Juanita Moore of Van Buren, Arkansas
4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lydia Lackey, by her husband Louis Ziewitz, and six brothers, Chester Lackey, Cecil Lackey, Delmas McGaughy, Dee Lackey, Ewell Lackey, and Jesse Lackey.
Funeral services will be Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 3:00 p. m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel with Pastor Niles White officiating. Interment follows in Rocky Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.

Elsie Eason Piearcy
(June 13, 1916 - September 17, 2010)
Elsie Eason Piearcy age 94 of Mena died Friday, September 17, 2010 at her home. She was born on Tuesday, June 13, 1916 to James Lonnie and Llewlyn Moore Ross Keen in Binjin, Arkansas.
Elsie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was married to her first husband, Red for 50 years and raised seven children. After Red’s passing she married Bill Eason and was married 6 years to him before his passing. Family was very important to Elsie and they were her most treasured possession. She was a faithful member for over 50 years at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Wickes and after moving to Mena she joined the Calvary Baptist Church in Mena. Serving and doing the Lord’s work was something Elsie took very seriously and hardly ever let a day go by without sharing her faith to someone, either by doing a good deed or just by the way she lived her life. For 15 years she worked at the Bogg Springs Missionary Baptist Camp and enjoyed seeing everyone year after year.
She is preceded in death by her parents James and Llewlyn Keen; her first husband Phillip “Red” Piearcy; her second husband Bill Eason; one son David Piearcy; one daughter Cleta Rose; one brother Kelsey Keen; one sister Inez Beasley; three granddaughters Deborah Jean Callahan, Cindy Gramer and Melody Smith.
Survivors include three sons and daughter in laws, Phillip and Beth Piearcy of Mena, Bob and Denise Piearcy of Mena and Jackie and Carla Piearcy of Perry, Arkansas; two daughters GeralDean Funderburk and her husband Bob of Mena and Vernie Jean Smith of Mena; one daughter in law Virginia Piearcy of Justin, Texas; one sister Betty Alexander of Little Rock; seventeen grandchildren; forty-nine great grandchildren; twenty four great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 20, 2010 at 2:00 P. M. at the Hall Funeral Service Chapel in Mena with Brother Donnie Jewel and Brother Doyne Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Daniel Cemetery in Wickes. Visitation will be Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 4-6 P. M. at the Hall Funeral Service Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Michael Callahan; Greg Smith, Paul Piearcy, Todd Piearcy, Fred Rose and Derek Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers will be David Piearcy, Josh Austin, Philip Piearcy, C. J. Callahan, Jacob Gramer, Jeff Shreve, Jonathon Alexander and Hunter Piearcy.
In lieu of flowers memorial can be made the Daniel Cemetery Fund, P. O. Box 123, Wickes Arkansas 71973.

Brayson Richard James
(August 3, 2010 - September 17, 2010)
Brayson Richard James,of Rogers, AR, born August 3rd 2010 in Mena AR departed this life September 17, 2010 at his home in Rogers. Brayson was a light to everyone’s days that were around him. Brayson was an angel on this Earth to all that loved and knew him and now he is in the hands of his maker, to be seen once again by those who love him. He was preceded in death by Albert Diamond, great grandfather, and Bob Corley, great grandfather.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Rebecca James, of Rogers AR, siblings, Tye James, Alexis James, Adian James and Grant Monahan all of Mena, AR. Grandparents, Kenneth and Sandra James, Mike and Dana Long, and Raquel and Joe Tucker all of Mena, AR, and Christine and Greg Bond of Colleyville, TX. Uncles, David and Colette James of Rogers, AR. Andrew Long of Mena, AR, and Aunt Cheyenne James of Mena, AR. Great Grandparents, Art and Ann Darilek of Mena, AR, June Corley of Mena, AR and Dorothy Diamond of Corinth TX. And many other relatives.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 2:00 p. m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel with Brother Fred Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday evening, September 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at the funeral home.

Eva Dean Smallwood
(June 14, 1952 - September 15, 2010)
Eva Dean Smallwood, age 58, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in Mena. She was born June 14, 1952 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Clifford Harrison and Bonnie Cravey Harrison. She was united in marriage to the late Mike Smallwood on December 17, 1971. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. Eva was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by:
Mother: Bonnie Harrison of Mena, Arkansas
Son: Kevin Smallwood and wife Rebecca of Mena, Arkansas
Daughters: Michelle White and husband Wesley of Mena, Arkansas Melissa Rajeswaran and husband Rajes of Cleveland, Ohio
Brothers: Darrell Harrison of Hot Springs, Arkansas Therron Harrison of Mena, Arkansas Steve Harrison of Mena, Arkansas Ronnie Harrison of Pine Bluff, Arkansas
7 grandchildren and several aunts, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Harrison her husband, Mike Smallwood, and two brothers, Freddie Harrison and Dennis Harrison.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 20, 2010 at 2:00 p. m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness with Mike Tilton and Bill Bates officiating. Interment follows in Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Big Fork under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
A visitation for family will be Sunday afternoon, September 19th from 2:00 to 4:00 p. m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Bartow, Bobby Bartow, Mark Bates and Nathan Crouch. Honorary pallbearer is Marley Wallace.

Marie Phillips
(October 1, 1918 - September 13, 2010)
Marie Phillips, age 91, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Monday, September 13, 2010 in Mena. She was born October 1, 1918 in Opal, Arkansas to the late Tom Foster and the late Ollie Standridge Foster. She was united in marriage to Sid Phillips. Marie was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by:
Son: Larry Standridge and wife Shirley of Mena, Arkansas
Daughter: Fran McAllister of Mena, Arkansas
Step-Son: Sidney Joe Phillips and wife Diane of Texarkana, Texas
Step-Daughter: Jo Ann Thomas and husband Leroy of Mena, Arkansas
Grandchildren: Matthew Standridge of Mena, Arkansas Rosa Jones of Ft. Smith, Arkansas Angela LaChance of Ft. Smith, Arkansas Kathy McGuire of Bossier City, Louisiana Jamie Tyson of Hattiesburg, Mississippi
9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Ollie Foster, and by her husband, Sid Phillips.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 2:00 p. m. at the First Baptist Church of Mena with Brother David McCord officiating. Interment follows in Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
A visitation for family and friends will be Friday evening, September 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Ray Clift, Ken Marshal, Keith Philpot, Billie Patterson, Paul Smith and Andy Brown. Honorary pallbearer is Jim Rackley.

Earnest Dean Wagner, Jr.
(September 11, 1930 - September 11, 2010)
Mr. Earnest Dean Wagner, Jr.,, age 80, of Board Camp, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 in Board Camp. He was born September 11, 1930 in Waldron, Arkansas to the late Earnest Wagner, Sr. and the late Estelle Sparks Wagner. He was service station owner and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Wagner was also a veteran, serving his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by:
Daughters: Stacy Wagner Vaught of Mena, Arkansas Melba Wagner of Buffalo, New York Shirley Barr of Buffalo, New York Darlene Wagner of Buffalo, New York

Step-Daughters: Lisa Willis and husband Wayne of Mena, Arkansas Dawn Gambino and husband Buck of New York, New York

He was preceded in death by his parents Earnest and Estelle Wagner, and by his brother, Edward Wagner.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 2:00 p. m. at the First Assembly of God of Mena with Brother Ron Tilley officiating. Interment follows in Board Camp Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
A visitation for family and friends will be Monday evening, September 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Anderson, James Anderson, Josh Anderson, Larry Page, Brandon Newbolt, and Steven Vaught. Honorary pallbearers are Maurice Tablor, Chris Blume, Steve Vaught, Jerry Ryan, Charlie Scott, Larry Eades, and Billy Newbolt.
