Bobby Thweatt
(August 25, 1933 - October 22, 2010)
Bobby Thweatt, age 77, of Mena, Arkansas passed away Friday, October 22, 2010 in Mena. Bobby was born on August 25, 1933, in Hatfield, Arkansas to the late Melvin and Myrtle Thweatt. He was married to Frances Coffman Thweatt. Bobby was a truck driver in the transportation industry until he retired. He served his country in the United States Navy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to all who knew him. He is survived by: Wife: Fran Thweatt of Mena, Arkansas
Sons: Ronald Thweatt of Phoenix, Arizona Larry Thweatt of Mena, Arkansas
Daughters: Darlene Carter of Escondido, California Cynthia Beerbohm of Valley Center, California
Grandchildren: Sarah Callahan Zachary Thweatt Christine Carter Austin Beerbohm Trevor Beerbohm
Great- Grandchildren: Connor Callahan Addison Callahan
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Myrtle Thweatt.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 25, 2010 at 2:00 p. m. in the Beasley-Wood Chapel with Brother Dale Howell officiating. Interment will be in the Pinecrest Memorial Park in Mena under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena. Visitation will be general. Pallbearers will be Larry Thweatt, Ron Thweatt, Zack Thweatt, Mark Coffman, Tommy Brumblow, and Bryan McCleskey. Honorary pallbearer will be Boots Putman.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Paul Edward Pumphrey
(December 18, 1937 - October 20, 2010)
Paul Edward Pumphrey, age 72, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010 in Mena. He was born December 18, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Otis G. Pumphrey and the late Grace L. Brown Pumphrey. He was united in marriage to Edna Wimberly. Paul was a systems control design engineer and an electronics tech representative for Beech Aircraft. After retiring he became a truck driver, and was also a veteran, serving his country in the United States Navy. Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by:
Wife: Edna Pumphrey of Mena, Arkansas
Sons: Randall P. Pumphrey of Grand Junction, Colorado Daniel D. Pumphrey of Colorado
Daughter-in-Law: Diana King of St. Joe Arizona
3 grandchildren.
Paul was sent for cremation under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. No services have been scheduled at this time.

Loyd N. Jenkins
(October 10, 1931 - October 19, 2010)
Brother Loyd N. Jenkins, age 79, of Mena, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010 in Mena. He was born October 10, 1931 in Roxton, Texas to the late James Nolan Jenkins and the late Ora Minnie Demorest Jenkins. He was united in marriage to Marsha Diggs. Loyd was a logger by profession and also pastored many churches in the area. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of the Nazarene and was a veteran, serving his country in the United States Air Force. Loyd was the co-founder of the Wickes Celebration of God and County for the fourth of July and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
He is survived by:

Children: Loyd N. Jenkins, Jr. and wife Donetta of Wickes, Arkansas Bruce D. Jenkins and wife Carol of Connersville, Indiana Kevin L. Jenkins of Wickes, Arkansas Loretta Roberts and husband David of Wickes, Arkansas Crystal Steinhoff and husband Eric of Virginia Beach, Virginia Nolan R. Jenkins of Wickes, Arkansas Sarah L. Jenkins of Wickes, Arkansas
Brother: James Lacey Jenkins of Wickes, Arkansas
Sisters: Lily Bell of Wickes, Arkansas Lora Taylor of Rushville, Indiana Laurel Miller of Little Rock, Arkansas Lila Jenkins of Rushville, Indiana
14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Nolan Jenkins and Ora Minnie Demorest Jenkins, his first wife, Marthalyn Jameson Jenkins, three sisters, Lady, Laverne, and Louann Jenkins, and an infant son, Bruce.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 22, 2010 at 10:00 a. m. at the Wickes United Methodist Church with Brother Ronnie Tilley, Brother James Squires, and Brother Chad Jenkins officiating. Interment follows in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Cove under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
A visitation for family and friends will be Thursday evening, October 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Chad Jenkins, Brett Roberts, Loren Jenkins, James Jenkins, Justin Diggs, and Nathan Diggs.

Patsy M. Williams
(December 16, 1929 - October 14, 2010)
Patsy M. Williams, age 80, of Mena passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010 in Mena. She was born December 16, 1929 in Jacksonville, Texas to the late Samuel R. Molone and the late Susie Cameron Molone. She was united in marriage to Bill M. Williams on June 2, 1986 in Pasadena, Texas. Mrs. Williams was a teacher by profession and a member of the Grace Bible Church in Mena. She was a loving homemaker, wife, mother and friend.
Survivors are:
Husband: Bill M. Williams of Mena, Arkansas
Son: Marcus Edwards of Austin, Texas
Daughter: Laura Reminick of New York
Sister: Nancy James of New Mexico
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel R. and Susie Molone
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 2:00 p. m. in the Beasley-Wood Chapel with Reverend Jack D. Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be General.
Pallbearers will be Mike Brown, Maurice Talder, Freddy Offerman, Boyd Smith, Tom James, Johnny Glasscock, and Pastor David Nehrenz.

Marilyn Lea Stolarski
(March 10, 1947 - October 11, 2010)
Marilyn Stolarski age 63 of Mena died Monday, October 11, 2010, at her home. She was born on Wednesday, March 10, 1947 to Bernard Lewis and Isabelle Munson Farley in Lake Placid, New York.
Marilyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. Marilyn was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church where she served on the Parish Council, was a youth advisor and served as president and vice president of the Altar Society. Marilyn was a pipefitter by trade and loved her work. She said, “100 guys and 1 girl working, it was fun!” She worked for Brown and Root for 10 years in the oilfields of Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana and North Carolina. In her spare time she would raise her garden and enjoyed gathering the vegetables. One of Marilyn’s greatest achievements of her life was winning the Parent of the Year Award at Windsor Village in Houston, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Clem Stolarski.
Survivors include one son Bernard Farley and Lyn Heggen of Lake Placid, New York; one daughter Rachel Campbell of Mena; two grandchildren Ethan Campbell of Mena and Ashley Campbell of Lake Placid, New York; special friends Annette Kloch of Mena, George and DeAnn Kloch of Mena and James Allen of Mena; several aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A. M. Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Mena, with Father Norbert Rappold as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Mena. A rosary service will be Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at 7:00 P. M. at the Hall Funeral Service Chapel in Mena.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1599 Clifton Road, NE, Atlanta GA, 30329.

Deborah Tannehill
(April 13, 1962 - October 9, 2010)
Deborah Tannehill, age 48, of St. Petersburg, Florida went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at Bayfront Medical Center. She was born in Des Moines, IA and moved to St. Petersburg in 1988. She served in Ministry for 26 years.
Debbie and her beloved husband, Steve pastored Victory Christian Center for the last 12 years. She was also employed as a Victim Witness Counselor at the Florida State Attorney’s office for 5 years, where she received an award for “Outstanding Commitment to Crime Victims”.
She was preceded in death by her father, Darold Berry.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Steven Tannehill; her 3 children, Katie, Caleb and Carli Tannehill; her mother, Deanna Berry; brother, Dan (Anne) Berry; sisters, Denise Mahlstadt and Donna (Bill) Glanz; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, Oct. 12 from 6-8 pm in the Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home located at 2201 Dr. Martin Luther King St. N. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 2 pm in the Northside Baptist Church located at 6000 38th Avenue North in Saint Petersburg, Florida.

Fern Elizabeth Hamm
(November 17, 1917 - October 9, 2010)
Fern Elizabeth Hamm, age 92, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Brookewood Nursing and Rehab in DeQueen, Arkansas. She was born November 17, 1917 in Heavener, Oklahoma to the late Walter and Nettie Cranfield Shupert. Mrs. Hamm worked for Hughes Aircraft in California for 20 years as an assembly line worker. After retiring, she moved to Mena in 1976 with her William Hamm, Sr., her husband of 48 years. She was a former member of the Dallas Avenue Baptist Church and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by:
Daughters: Patricia Lou Smith and husband Harold of Faulk, Arkansas Esther Ann Rapp and husband Wendell of Mena, Arkansas
Sons: William Fredrick (Freddy) Hamm, Jr. and wife Diane of Mena, Arkansas Derell Lee Hamm of Hemet, California David Ray Hamm of Phoenix, Arizona
20 grandchildren and several great and several great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Fredrick, Sr., one son, Billy James Hamm, several brothers and sisters and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 2:00 p. m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park with Brother Gene Stacks officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mena Regional Hospice.

Bertha Mae Hicks
(March 16, 1915 - October 6, 2010)
Bertha Mae Wiles Hicks, age 95, of Mena, Arkansas went to meet her Savior October 6, 2010 at Rich Mountain Nursing and Rehab in Mena. She was born March 16, 1915 in Posey Hollow (Polk County) Arkansas to William Jasper and Francis Rebecca Wiles. She was married May 11, 1940 to Ralph Davis Hicks. They were married 55 years until his passing in 1995. She had been employed as housekeeper and baby sitter for a number of years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and working in her garden. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her, and was known to most people as Aunt Berth. She was a member of The Southside Church of God and was very active in her church until her health failed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph Hicks, one son, Orville Dean Hicks, six brothers, Hamp, Ode, Louie, Lonnie, Oliver, and Alfred Wiles, and two sisters, Zella Wiles and Delcie Lyda.
She is survived by her daughter, Loretta May, of Mena, one grandson, David May of Rogers, Arkansas, two brothers-in-law, J. D. and Dorothy Hicks of Nowata, Oklahoma, and Melton, (Pete) and Martha Hicks of DeQueen, Arkansas, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 8, 2010 at 10:00 a. m. at Southside Church of God with Brother Kenny Posey and Charley Wiles officiating. Interment follows in Concord Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southside Church of God or Hospice.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Delbert Newsom, Randy Hicks, Lyndell Lyda, Earl Lyda, Dean Wiles, Benny Wiles, and Ronald Hicks. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Wiles, Ralph Wiles, Ron Hicks and Don Hicks.

Charles F. Lewis
(December 22, 1928 - October 4, 2010)
Mr. Charles F. Lewis, age 81, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Monday, October 04, 2010 in Ft. Smith. He was born December 22, 1928 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Frank L. Lewis and the late Clara Louise Block Lewis. He was united in marriage to Laska Crager. Charles was a career military man, serving his country in the United Sates Army, retiring a Lieutenant Colonel. He was of the Presbyterian faith and was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by
Wife: Laska Lewis of Springdale, Arkansas
Sister: Donna Kralicek of Ft. Smith, Arkansas Grace Hensley of Mena, Arkansas
Several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Clara Lewis and his sister, Helen Swiger.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 07, 2010 at 2:00 p. m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel. Interment follows in Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
