She was born June 26, 1935 in Deer, Arkansas to the late John Carter and the late Nora Etta Davis Carter. She was united in marriage to the late Mitchell Casey. Jimmie managed many Dairy Queens in Tyler, Texas, and was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by: Son: Mitchell Casey and wife Karen of Overton, Texas Daughters: Patricia Byers and husband Max of Wills Point, Texas Mickey Beebe and husband Bryson of Mena, Arkansas Linda Boggio and husband John of Mena, Arkansas Sheila Casey of Tyler, Texas Brother: Kenny Carter of Concord, California Sister: Lona O’Neal of Manteca, California 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nora Carter, a daughter, Billie Jean Craft, a grandson, Timmy Wade Merritt, a sister, Jean Gilbert, and a brother, Arnold Carter. Graveside services will be held Friday, December 10, 2010 at Mixon Cemetery in Troup, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be at Cottle Funeral Home prior to service. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Mary V. Bain (February 24, 1929 - December 8, 2010) Mary V. Bain, age 81, of Mena, Arkansas, went home to her Lord and Savior Wednesday, December 8, 2010. She was born February 24, 1929, in Rocky, Arkansas, to the late John Wesley Murphy and the late Rowena Fallis Murphy. She was married to the late Victor Ray Von Lienen, father of her children, until his death and then married Ross Taylor until his death. She was married to Ruel Bain for 25 years until his death. Mary loved her church family and served for many years as church clerk at Bethel Baptist Church where she was saved as a teenager and taught Sunday School. She sang in a gospel band with her husband, Ruel and her daughters. The last years she was the prayer chain leader at Hatfield First Baptist Church. Mary’s joys were to crochet, sew, quilt, and cook, all of which she excelled at. She is survived by two daughters: Rebecca Rhea Powell and husband Dwight of Acorn, Arkansas; and Rosemary Lee Crabtree and husband Terry of Fouke, Arkansas. She is further survived by two step-sons: Ty Bain and wife Linda; and Kenneth Bain, all of San Diego, California. Brothers: Walter (Sonny) Murphy and wife Mary; J. R. Murphy and wife Angela; and George Murphy and wife Debbie, all of Mena, Arkansas Sisters: Ruby Spencer and husband Bennie of Dallas, Texas; Betty Jo Hammond of Athens, Texas; Eileen Mayfield and husband Chuck of Pine Ridge, Arkansas; and Fern Murphy, of Cherry Hill, Arkansas. Mary was the oldest of all her siblings. Grandchildren: Shelby Sullivan, Joseph Powell, Violet Gibbons, Ray Prochaska, Amanda Prochaska, Maleah Bussell, and Tyler Crabtree. Great-grandchildren : Dakota and Kaleb Sullivan, Aliana and Nicholas Powell and Gracie-Prochaska. Step-grandchildren: Kevin and Tyra Bain, DeAnna Skipper, Duane and Dennis Powell, and Caleb and Joshua Crabtree. Special friends, Esther Heath and Lavon Taylor. She was preceded in death by one sister, Viola Orbra Hamner, and one son, Victor Alan Von Lienen. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 2:00 p. m. at Hatfield First Baptist Church with Brother Orval Heath, Brother Shad McDonald and Brother Terry Crabtree officiating. Interment follows in Gann Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be Friday evening, December 10th from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at the funeral home. Kieslich (January 29, 1916 - December 8, 2010) Wilma F. Kieslich, age 94, of Octavia, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in Mena. She was born January 29, 1916 in Octavia, Oklahoma to the late W. H. Smith and the late Beulah Hilton Smith. She was a teacher by profession and was a loving homemaker, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She is survived by: Sisters: Ferne Shriver of Oakland, California Peggy DuPont of Tulsa, Oklahoma Ruth Brown of Octavia, Oklahoma Gayle Risden of Octavia, Oklahoma Brothers: Will J. Smith of Octavia, Oklahoma Bruce Smith of Bartlesville, Oklahoma Larry Smith of Octavia, Oklahoma Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. Kathy Sue Edmonds (March 24, 1959 - December 5, 2010) Kathy Sue Edmonds, age 51, of Big Fork, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010 in Big Fork. She was born March 24, 1959 in Corning, California to the late Noble L. Ray and the late DeWanda L. McIntosh Ray. She was united in marriage to Peter Dillon. She was a certified nurse’s aid and was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by: Husband: Peter Dillon of Big Fork, Arkansas Children: Jacob Ingoglia and wife Jennifer of Hot Springs, Arkansas Melissa Ingoglia and husband Terry of Foley, Alabama Brothers: Bo Ray of Mena, Arkansas Ron Ray of Shingletown, California Sisters: Robin Stone of Los Molinos, California Nephew: John Dillon of Big Fork, Arkansas Mother-in-Law: Louise P. There will be a visitation for family and friends on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 4:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. at the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Mrs. Edmonds will then be sent for cremation. There are no funeral services scheduled. Bobbie Wane Nelson (September 9, 1936 - December 5, 2010) Bobbie Wayne Nelson age 74 of Cove died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the Mena Regional Health System. He was born to Tommy Steel and Maudie Tucker on Wednesday, September 9, 1936 and adopted by Ace Rex and Vera Tucker Nelson in Gladewater, Texas. Bobbie enjoyed life to the fullest and at an early age started his military career by joining the United States Navy. He served over 20 years and also served during the Vietnam War mostly on submarines. He retired from the Navy with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. This was one Bobbie greatest accomplishments. Bobbie enjoyed good Western movies and playing video poker at the casinos. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include three sons. James Nelson and wife Datha of Cove, Ace Rex Nelson of Cove, and Michael Nelson of Fallon, Nevada; four daughters Jo Anna Hilton of Mena, Lori Lewis and husband Lee of Klamath Falls, California, Judy McCallister and husband Tim of Grass Valley, California and Christy Malvern and husband Jason of Savannah, Georgia; one sister Jo Ann Bershatski of Riverside, California; one nephew James Wilman of Riverside, California; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Cremation services are entrusted to Hall Funeral Service in Mena. There are no services scheduled at this time. Carl T. Sherrouse (August 27, 1949 - December 3, 2010) Carl Sherrouse, age 61, of Wickes, Arkansas passed away Friday, December 03, 2010 at his home. He was born August 27, 1949 in Conroe, Texas to the late Jesse Howard Sherrouse and Marie Renfroe Sherrouse. He was married to Becky Williams Sherrouse. Carl worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother and a friend to all who knew him and loved him. George Alex Moore (November 25, 1938 - December 3, 2010) George Alex Moore age 72 of Gillham died Friday, December 3, 2010 at the DeQueen Medical Center in DeQueen. He was born on Friday, November 25, 1938 to Earl Alex Victor and Onie Marie Simmons Moore in Howe, Oklahoma. George liked history and could set down and tell you anything you wanted to know about the Civil War and almost every battle within that war. He was a story teller and could set around all day and tell stories of things that happen in the past. Family was very important to him and loved spending time with them. George also loved his Western movies and would watch them over and over again. He loved to go backroading and get lost and have fun with friends and family. George was a master of all trades. He drove trucks, heavy equipment, was a ship painter in Miramar Naval Air Base in California and was a sawmill superintendent at Smith Pallet. He enjoyed redoing automobiles. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Clara Faye Harrison Moore; two sisters Dora Sue Freeman and Earlene Howard. Survivors include three sons Danny Moore of West Fork, Sean Moore and his wife Cassie of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Scott Moore of the home; two daughters Angelia Michelle “Mickey” Moore of the home and Eva Johnson and husband Danny of Wickes; one brother Billy Moore of Hartford; one sister Katy Smith of Octavia, Oklahoma; five grandchildren Tisha Moore of Louisiana, Justin Ewing of Mena, Travis Chambers of Mena, Kristin Coleman of Wickes and Addie Moore of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be Monday, December 6, 2010 at 10:00 A. M. at the Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Rocky with Brother Todd Webb and Billy Moore officiating. Jimmy O'Neal Alexander (August 9, 1932 - December 3, 2010) Jimmy O’Neal Alexander, age 78, of Cove, Arkansas, passed away Friday December 3, 2010 in Mena. He was born August 9, 1932 in Malakoff, Texas to the late True Alexander and the late Lela Elba Scott Alexander. He was united in marriage to Lula Thomas on December 13, 1952. He was a foreman for Shell Oil Company and was also a veteran, serving his country in the United States Army. Jimmy was very active in his community and served on the Cove Rural Volunteer Fire Department, of which he was also Director, as well as Director of the Western Arkansas Fire and Rescue, and Vision 2010 Quality of Life. He was a member of Super Church for 15 years where he was a bus driver, maintenance officer, sound director and was on the Board of Trustees. Jimmy was also a member of the Hatfield Assembly of God and the Shell DPMC Retirees. He was the founder of Jim Alexander Enterprises, the largest metal detector retail dealer for Garrett’s and White’s for many years, and was the first dealer in Houston, Texas. He was the founder of Marine and Treasure Salvage, he was a rescue diver for the Harris County Sheriff’s Department, was founder of the THAP, Treasure Hunter’s Association of Pasadena, co-founder of the Houston Underwater Club, he discovered pre-Spanish town building in a desert near TOC New Mexico, which he gave to the state. He was the former owner of Ghost Town of Gleeson, Arizona with 37 patented gold claims mined until the early 1950’s. He field tested Garrett Detectors prior to market and built the first underwater metal detector. He excavated Jacob’s Well for scuba diving exploration and began scuba diving right after Cousteau invented the Aqua Lung. He searched and found gold in the Australian Outback as well as searching 200 year old shipwrecks of the coast of Belize. Jim went on the original trip with the U. S. Navy and Houston Museum of Natural History to discover a living coral reef in the Gulf of Mexico, now known as the Flower Gardens, a popular scuba diving destination. He re-vamped the Shell Oil Utility Department Safety Program, writing operations manuals for Shell Oil Central Power Station. He was a specialist in industrial underwater, medical, scientific, law enforcement, security, and surveying metal detector applications. He served as an expert witness as metal detection expert for law enforcement agencies on local and federal levels. He taught geology at San Jacinto College and worked with Hard Hat diving company bringing up chlorine containers lost in the Mississippi River, working over dangerously explosive chemicals after all towns were evacuated because of danger. Jim obtained a new building for Cove RVFD, new trucks and other equipment through grants, and built the first Helipad south of Mena at Cove RVFD, now listed on State airport maps. While in the Army, he was in a unit which tested secret tanks in the Mojave Desert at the end of the Korean War, and the tanks were used in the Vietnam War. He had a full life and will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He is survived by: Wife: Lula Alexander of Cove, Arkansas Grandson: Charles “Charlie” Alexander and wife Kesha of Springfield, Missouri Brothers: Robert Alexander and wife Beth of Cove, Arkansas Gerald Alexander and wife Ruth of Waller, Texas Sister: Shirley Murphy of Orange, Texas Many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, True and Lela Alexander, two sons, Charles Edward Alexander and Stephen Alan Alexander. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 6, 2010 at 10:00 a. m. at the Hatfield Assembly of God with Brother Ronnie Tilley and Kevin Price officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Cemetery in Pasadena Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Steve Oglesby, Ken Headley, Boyd Cecil, Daniel Egger, Steve Jurina and Donnie Jewell.
