Mr. John Elisha Peoples, age 85, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011 in Mena.
He was born March 7, 1926 in Russellville, Arkansas to the late James Zacharia Peoples and the late Sarah Ann Peoples. He was united in marriage to Altha Beasley. John was a Jack Hammer Operator and was also a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. He will be lovingly missed.
He is survived by:
Wife: Altha Peoples of Mena, Arkansas
Sons: Johnny A. Peoples of Mena, Arkansas Kenneth Peoples and wife Diane of Russellville, Arkansas
Sisters: Dorothy Peoples of Searcy, Arkansas Lenora Bailey
Grandsons: Kevin Peoples of Russellville, Arkansas Bryan Peoples of Russellville, Arkansas
Nephews: James Peoples of Searcy, Arkansas Verl Cornelius of Mena, Arkansas
Niece: Debra Essman of Mena, Arkansas
A host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sarah Peoples.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 2:00 p. m. at Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Cove, Arkansas, under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.

Ronald Craft
(March 13, 1941 - May 12, 2011)
Ronald Craft, age 70, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Mena passed away, Thursday, May 12, 2011 in Boise.
He was born March 13, 1941 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Woodrow Craft and the late Chloe Bell Walker Craft. He was united in marriage to Anna Craft. He was a Glazier by profession and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by:
Wife: Anna Craft of Chula Vista, California
Daughters: Monica Carranza of Chula Vista, California Margaret Craft of El Cajon, California
5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Chloe Craft.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 23, 2011 at 2:00 p. m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel with interment following in Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Cove. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.

Eunice Estelle Puckett
(June 21, 1918 - May 15, 2011)
Eunice Estelle Puckett, age 92, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of Cherry Hill, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 in Tulsa. She was born June 21, 1918 in Cherry Hill, Arkansas to the late Harvey Garmon and the late Tisha Lou Suits Garmon. She was united in marriage to the late Earl Puckett. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith and was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by:
Son: Jerry H. Puckett of Tulsa, Oklahoma
Grandchildren: Barrie Nicole Puckett of California Michael Weston Puckett of Tulsa, Oklahoma
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Tisha Garmon, her husband, Earl Puckett, and a daughter, Marcia Larkin.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10:00 a. m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel with Brother David McCord officiating. Interment follows in Cherry Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-wood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be general.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mena.

Craig Martin Sanders
(April 6, 1949-May 14, 2011)
Craig Martin Sanders age 62 of Mena died Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Mena Regional Health System. He was born on Wednesday, April 6, 1949 to Kenneth Wrath and Ruth Ann Martin Sanders in Oakland Park, Chicago.
Craig was a very determined person and was a deep thinker. He always did what was right, no matter the consequences. He was a very adventurous person; also and would not let anything deter him from his objective. He like to travel, moving from Chicago to California and finally to Arkansas. He always provided for his family and wanted the best for them. His greatest accomplishment in life was raising his seven children to be free thinkers and seeing that they all received an education to become whatever they wanted. He owned and operated Mountain Valley Real Estate Company in Mena for many years and enjoyed his work very much. Craig enjoyed to read and loved to spend time outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Jack Sanders.
Survivors include his wife Vanessa Sanders of the home; five sons, James Sanders and Richard Sanders both of Fayetteville, Alexander Sanders and his wife Naomi of Russellville, Ronald Sanders of Mena and Douglas Sanders of Mena; two daughters Elizabeth Lott and her husband Adam of Prattsville, Arkansas and Valerie Sanders of Magnolia; one grandson Clark Sanders of Russellville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 10:00 A. M. at the Hall Funeral Service Chapel. . No visitation is planned.
Pallbearers will be his sons and is son in law.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to either the Feed My Sheep Ministries, 2933 Highway 88 East, Mena, Arkansas 71953 or to the Ouachita Little Theatre, P. O. Box 1217, Mena, Arkansas 71953.

MRS. HAZEL CATHERINE GREENWAY, 92, OF MUSE OKLAHOMA Passed away SUNDAY MAY 8TH, 2011 AT HEAVENER NURSING HOME. SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND WILLIAM GREENWAY HIS DAUGHTERS BETTY AND RICHARD FRALEY OF MUSE OKLAHOMA AND CAROLYN AND TOMMY WRIGHT OF MUSE—HIS SON JOHN AND PAT MOORE OF KALLISPELL MONTANA AND NUMEROUS GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN CREMATION SERVICES WILL BE PROVIDED BY TALIHINA FUNERAL HOME CALL918-567-4114 FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.

Sandra K. Dawson, age 69, of Mena, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011 in Mena,
She was born July 12, 1941 in Macomb, Illinois to the late Gerald and Virginia Callaway. She was united in marriage to John “Jack” Dawson ll. She worked in Central Supply at Mena Medical Hospital in Mena. Sandra was a member of the Methodist church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and a friend to all who knew her.
She is survived by:
Husband: Jack Dawson of Mena, Arkansas
Sons: Terry Mock and wife Nancy of Kirksville, Missouri Tim Eilers of Monett, Missouri Blair Eilers and wife Kristy of Bettendorf, Iowa
Daughter: Debbie Cunningham and husband Craig of Ava, Missouri
Step-children: Trey Dawson of Salt Lake City, Utah Jackie Dawson of Sedialia, Missouri
Brothers: Blair Callaway and wife Sandra of Burnside, Illinois Mike Callaway of Ava, Missouri
Brother-in-law: Dave Jackson of Bella Vista, Arkansas
6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren
Proceeded in death by her parents, Gerald and Virginia Callaway, and sister Linda Jackson.
Memorial service will be Thursday, May 19, 2011, 1:00 p. m. in the Beasley-Wood Chapel with Grandson Ean Hendrix officiating under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Chapel Funeral Home of Mena.

Rita Mary LaBier
(October 6, 1931-May 14, 2011)
Rita Mary LaBier age 79 of Mena died Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the residence in Peachtree Assisted Living in Mena. She was born on Tuesday, October 6, 1931 to Ray and Bernadette Lauzon Campbell in Swanton, Vermont.
Rita lived to the day because she never knew what tomorrow would bring her. She was a witty and humorous person and always had a smile in her face or laughing. She loved to go dancing and singing with her husband; enjoyed all different kinds of music and loved her baseball; she was an Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox fan. She enjoyed her family and friends and love to cook for them. Her specialty was Baked Ham. She liked to also travel and go back to Vermont for 6 weeks to visit her family there. She loved all the staff at Peachtree Assisted Living and all the hospice nurses that took care of her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Calvin LaBier and one brother Donald Campbell.
Survivors include three brothers, Ronnie Campbell and Jimmy Campbell both of Swanton, Vermont and Gary Campbell of San Francisco, California; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10:00 A. M. at the St. Agnes Catholic Church with Father Norbert Rappold as celebrant. A Rosary Service will be held Friday, May 20, 2011 at 7:00 P. M. at the Hall Funeral Service Chapel in Mena.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the St. Agnes Catholic Church Building Fund; 203 8th Street, Mena, Arkansas 71953.

Ambrost Alexander
(July 27, 1928 - May 8, 2011)
Ambrost Alexander, age 82, of Vandervoort, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011 at his home.
He was born July 27, 1928 in Dierks, Arkansas to the late Louis Alexander and the late Elsie Essie Harris Alexander. He was united in marriage to the late Birta Mae Jewell. He was a timber worker by profession and was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by:
Sons: Mikeal Alexander and wife Rebecca of Oak Grove, Arkansas Stan Alexander and wife Terry of Grannis, Arkansas Steve Alexander and wife Carolyn of Pine Ridge, Arkansas Shelby Alexander and wife Johnna Arlene of Vandervoort, Arkansas
Daughter: Judy Oliver and husband David of Gillham, Arkansas
Sister: Esta Lee Caswell of Vandervoort, Arkansas
9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Elsie Alexander Barrett, his step-father, Charlie Barrett, a brother, Leroy Alexander, and a granddaughter, Darlene Oliver.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 2:00 p. m. at the Vandervoort Baptist Church with Brother Donnie Jewell officiating. Interment follows in Witherspoon Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.
Pallbearers will be Gerard Alexander, David Alexander, Charlie Alexander, Randy Jewell, Terry Jewell, Justin Loyd.

George William Roberts
(February 2, 1928 - May 6, 2011)
George William Roberts, 83, of Mena, who is our friend, went to be with his Lord on Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Mena Regional Health System. He was born on Thursday, February 2, 1928 to Walter Lonzo and Lula Bell Reason Robert, in a tent, in Andrews, Texas.
His family would ride together on Sunday to church in a horse drawn wagon. Raised in west Texas, he began working at a young age in the cotton fields and on farm equipment. As he grew up he also worked in cafes, as a cook, the returned to his mechanic work.
He met his wife Betty and was married and raised a large family. One son, James was especially devoted to his dad, George. Later in life Betty became terminally ill and George nursed her till her death. James a hard working man came alongside his dad to help him through his health problems and moved to Mena in 2006. James became sick with cancer and died in July 2008. James Roberts is a believer in Jesus Christ. After James’ death; George was in need of a place to stay and he came to our home. Me and my wife, Shanna decided to take him in till his family came for him. George had become a dear friend to of family; “Grandpa George” to our children, Chad, Jeremy, Alexis and John David; also to our daughter and son in law Joseph and Xabrina and their twins Gabriel and Lilly.
George was a generous and amusing. He was always willing to help and share, even if he wasn’t really able to. Thinking of others first quite often. He was a hard working man all his life, a lover of watching the weather and full of amusing stories from his past. George was introduced to Jesus Christ as a child. He fell asleep in the arms of God and Savior on May 6th, 2011 at 11:00 P. M.
George impacted our lived deeply and we are grateful to have known him theses passed 27 months, See you in Heaven, George!

Survivors include one sister Elizabeth Shavers of Hatfield; several nieces and nephews, close friends, Rodger and Lois Terrell, Don Brown and Sheila Schumacher.
Cremation services are entrusted to Hall Funeral Service in Mena.
Memorials can be made to the Grace Bible Church Mission Committee, 1911 Highway 71 North, Mena, Arkansas 71953.
