Thomas "Tommy" Monroe Waller
(September 11, 1954 - June 28, 2011)
Thomas “Tommy” Monroe Waller, age 56, of Wickes, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at his home.
He was born September 11, 1954 in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Thomas L. Waller and to Mary E. Hudson Waller. He was united in marriage to Becky Wilson. He was a truck driver by profession and was of the Baptist faith. Tommy also served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother and friend and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by:
Wife: Becky Waller of the home.
Sons: Timothy Andrew Waller of Hawaii Adam Nathaniel Waller of Wickes, Arkansas.
Daughters: Heather Lynn Miller of Cove, Arkansas April Ilene Cox of Winchester, Virginia.
Sisters: Alvena W. Gatlin of Charleston, South Carolina Barbara L. Lopez of Charleston, South Carolina June W. Cruz of Charleston, South Carolina.
Mother: Mary Waller Garcia of Charleston, South Carolina.
6 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Waller, and a brother John B. Klintworth.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 3:00 p. m. at the Wickes Church of the Nazarene with Brother Mike Wilson officiating. Interment follows in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Miranda, Paul Miranda, John Wilson, Brandon Tadlock, Jerry Thompson, and James Miller.

Georgia Meridieth Holman
(February 27, 1924 - June 27, 2011)
Mrs. Georgia Meridieth Holman, born February 27, 1924 to Cora Standridge Meridieth and the late George Meridieth (who died a month before her birth), passed away June 27, 2011.
She was united in marriage to Perry Quinzey Holman, September 8, 1945. She is survived by one daughter, Quincy Holman Thornton, son-in-law, Jeremy D. Thornton and grandson Joshua David Thornton, her pride and joy; four sisters, Edna King of Springfield, Oregon, Alice Keener of Mena, Shell McMellon of Mena, and Connie Bates of Mena, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was a member of Dallas Avenue Baptist Church for 50 years, where she developed many great friendships.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Quinzey Holman, her father, George Meridieth, her mother, Cora Standridge Meridieth Bates, and a wonderful step-father, Walter Bates, step-sister, Ruby Bates Edwards, and step-brother Lake Bates.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 10:00 a. m. at Dallas Avenue Baptist Church with Brother Donnie Edwards officiating. Interment follows at Lower Big Fork Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.

Arbutu May "Terry" Nordeen
(August 31, 1949 - October 31, 2011)
Arbutu May “Terry” Nordeen, age 62 of Mena, Arkansas passed away Monday, October 31, 2011 at her home.
She was born in Keokuk, Iowa on August 31, 1949. She was married to Terrance Nordeen and was a hairdresser by trade. Terry was of the Protestant faith and will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by:
Spouse: Terrence Nordeen of Fox Lake, Illinois
Son: Timothy Jay Frees of Mena, Arkansas
Granddaughter: Audrianna Frees of Denver, Colorado
Special Friend: Christopher Limbrick of Mena, Arkansas
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Nordeen was sent for cremation under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. A private family service is scheduled for a later time.

Alvin "Junior" Wilhite
(October 9, 1933 - October 31, 2011)
Mr. Alvin “Junior” Wilhite, age 78, of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, formerly of Mena, passed away Monday, October 31, 2011 in Ft. Smith.
He was born October 9, 1933 in Boles, Arkansas to the late Alvin Melton Wilhite and the late Hazel Morrison Wilhite. He was a logger by profession and was a 7th Day Adventist. Junior was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be missed by his loving family.
He is survived by:
Son: Norm Wilhite of Mena, Arkansas
Daughters: Becky Wilhite of Fayetteville, Arkansas Vanessa Neal of Heavener, Oklahoma
Brother: J. V. Wilhite of Acorn, Arkansas
Grandchildren: Robert Lee Phillips, Tennille Walker, Christopher Neal, Erin Glinski and Wayman Bell, III
And a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Services will be Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 2:00 p. m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, November 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Wilhites’s grandsons and Johnny Miller, Scott Rodgers, Wade Stewart, Raymond Falls, Steve Bass, Jake Glinski, Jay Gardner, Wes Falls, Duane Webb, David Lee Wilhite, Ronnie Falls and Dennis Wilhite.

Glen Earl Berkey
(October 25, 1949 - October 31, 2011)
Glen Earl Berkey, age 62, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Monday, October 31, 2011 in Hot Springs.
He was born October 25, 1949 in Joplin, Missouri to Earl Berkey and the late Elvera Zook Berkey. He was a carpenter by profession and enjoyed fishing and reading. His greatest joy, however, was his family, whom will miss him greatly.
He is survived by:
Sons: Robert Berkey of Ft. Meade, Maryland
Daughters: Jennifer Stockton of Mena, Arkansas Monica Berkey of Mena, Arkansas
Father: Earl Berkey of Denton, Texas
Brothers: Lester Berkey of Sulfer, Louisiana Paul Berkey of Lake Charles, Louisiana
Sisters: Robert A. Dockery of Denton, Texas Cheryl Nipper of Texas Mary Jane Racca of Lake Charles, Louisiana
Grandchildren: Sarai, Malachi and Hannah Stockton; Ryan, Shawn, and Nicholas Hill, Isaac Griffin, Cecelia and Dakota Berkey and many nieces nephews and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elvera Berkey.
Mr. Berkey was sent for cremation under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. A private family service will be planned at a later date.

Herbert Jackson Dilbeck
(April 20, 1930 - October 31, 2011)
Herbert Jackson Dilbeck, age 81, of Waldron, Arkansas, formerly of Mena, passed away Monday, October 31, 2011 in Waldron.
He was born April 20, 1930 in Big Fork, Arkansas to the late Harvey Dilbeck and the late Beulah Coogan Dilbeck. He was united in marriage to Mary Powell Dilbeck. He was honorably discharged from the United States Armed Services, serving in both the Army and the Navy, also serving in the Korean and Vietnam War. After his service, Mr. Dilbeck also worked as a security guard in California, and also at U. S. Motors in Mena. His faith was that of the teachings of the Assembly of God Church and he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, step-father, brother and friend.
He is survived by:
Wife: Mary Dilbeck of the home
Sons: Rodney Dilbeck of Roland, Oklahoma Harvey Dilbeck of Muldrow, Oklahoma Frankie Dilbeck of Van Buren, Arkansas
Daughters: Nancy Woodall of Muldrow, Oklahoma Darlene Qualls of Roland, Oklahoma Dorothy Jones of Muldrow, Oklahoma
Step-Daughters: Debbie Dilbeck of Muldrow, Oklahoma Debra Ann Powell of Mena, Arkansas
Brothers: Berlin Dilbeck of Ft. Smith, Arkansas H. B. Dilbeck of Mena, Arkansas Johnny Dilbeck of Hot Springs, Arkansas
Sisters: Minnie Cossey of Mena, Arkansas Faye Dilbeck of Ft. Smith, Arkansas Eula Mae Bass of Ozark, Arkansas
Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host a friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Beulah Dilbeck, a brother, Jimmie Dilbeck, and 2 sisters, Molly and Elizabeth Dilbeck.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 2:00 p. m. at the Mena Assembly of God Church with Brother Ron Tilley officiating. Interment follows in Cherry Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening, November 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at the funeral home.

Maurine S. Martin
(December 15, 1920 - October 30, 2011)
Maurine S. Martin, age 90, of Cove, Arkansas, went home to meet her Lord and Savior on October 30, 2011 at the home of her daughter.
She was born December 15, 1920 in Haskell County, Texas to the late John B. Springer and the late Rebecca Hasty Springer. She was united in marriage to the late James B. Martin. She was a restaurant owner and a homemaker and was a member of the Cove First Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing dominoes with her family and friends Mrs. Martin was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed greatly by her family.
She is survived by:
Daughter: Joan Scott and husband Terry of Cove, Arkansas
Daughter-in-Law: Nancy Martin of El Cajon, California
Sisters: Mary Jo Martin and husband D. B. of Virginia Beach, Virginia Theda Barton and husband Walter of Cove, Arkansas
8 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rebecca Springer, by her husband, James B. Martin, by a son, Jerry Martin, and by a daughter, Gail Chaffin.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November1, 2011 at 10:00 a. m. at the Cove First Baptist Church with Brother Ron Ladd officiating. Interment follows in Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.

George "Mike" Raymond Evans
(February 26, 1922 - October 28, 2011)
George “Mike” Raymond Evans, age 89, of Mena, passed away Friday, October 28, 2011 in Mena.
He was born February 26, 1922 in Hodgens, Oklahoma to the late William Thomas “Bud ”Evans and Rhoda Lou Reding Evans. Mr. Evans served his country in the United States Army during World War ll European Theater under General Patton as a tank driver. Mike had many experiences during his time in Germany which caused him restless nights for twenty years afterwards. He was a man of peace and love. Mike had a lawnmower repair business. He loved helping people. He loved hunting raccoons with his half-brother Lester, and his old squirrel dog. Mike always kept a milk cow to keep him supplied with fresh buttermilk and butter. He lived in Hatfield most of his life and worked in Cove for Paul Lewis Lumber Company. He was a loving brother, uncle and a friend to all who knew him.
He is survived by:
Nieces: Judy Thomas of Mena, Arkansas Gayle Hopper of Redding, California
Several great-nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rhoda Evans, sisters, Hazel Mae Evans, Alice Elva Lorraine Evans, brother, William Lester Cochran and adopted daughter, Lois Smith.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, November 01, 2011, 2:00 p. m. at Six-Mile Cemetery in Hatfield, Arkansas with Elder David Thomas officiating. Services are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
