Anna McVay Lisenbey
Anna Marie McVay Lisenbey of Benton, Ark., was born Sept. 4, 1940 in Russellville to the late George McVay and Viverine Moore McVay. She died March 5, 2001, in Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton at the age of 60.
Mrs. Lisenbey was a member of Junet Pentecostal Church in Sheridan, a self-employed care giver and was preceded in death by a brother, Charles McVay.
Survivors are a son: Stacy Lisenbey of Plainview; daughters: Lee Ann Lisenbey Crutchfield of Sheridan; and Lana Lisenbey Erb of Yokota, Japan; a brother: David McVay of Redfield; sisters: Phyllis McVay of Russellville, and Katie Anderson of Pine Bluff; an aunt: Gladys Crow of Searcy; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 7 at 10 a.m. in the Buie Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Al Michael officiating. Burial was in Ringer Cemetery in Centerville.
Pallbearers were: Brooks Lisenbey, Steele, Nicholas Steele, Jeff Lisenbey, James Alvis Lisenbey and Lloyd Schnaekel.

Hattie Davis
Hattie Fern "Bonnie" Davis of Omak died at her home on June 14.
She was born in Leola, Ark., and attended and graduated from schools in Arkansas. She married Donald R. Davis at Hot Springs, Ark., and they moved to Omak in 1953. She worked in her home raising her children. After they were grown she sold Fuller Brush products and later did demonstrations of various products in local stores.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Donna and Klaus Krunnies of Riverside; a son and daughter-in-law: Ron and Cindy Davis of Omak; a brother and sister-in-law: Paul and Jean Reid of Spokane; her grandchildren: Candace Daniels of Riverside, Amber and Brian Coleman of Phoenix, Ariz., Cassandra and Kayla Krunnies of Riverside, Michelle Davis of Seattle, Felicia Davis of Spokane, and Halley Davis and Jeremiah Davis of Omak.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Davis; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Reid; and brothers Cline T. Reid, Samuel E. Reid, William H. Reid, Doyne D. Reid and Carl D. Reid.
Services will be held later. Memorials are suggested to the Children's Hospital in Seattle.

Larry Holt Beckwith
Larry Holt Beckwith, 60, of Sheridan, Ark., was born Nov. 4, 1940, in Water Valley, Miss., to the late Randolph F. and Alice Corine Blount Beckwith. He died Aug. 6, 2001, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
Mr. Beckwith was owner of J&L Machine Shop in Sheridan and was a member of Matthews Hunting Club.
Survivors are his wife: Brenda Faye Quinlivlan Beckwith; sons: Clint Beckwith and Johnny Beckwith, both of Sheridan; a daughter: Larenda Davis of Grapevine; brothers: Robert Beckwith of Hardin, Aubrey Beckwith of Cabazon, Calif., Steve Beckwith of Morena, Calif., and Joe Beckwith of Hensley; sisters: Janie Glynn of Sheridan and Katherine Himes; and four grandchildren: Cristi Beckwith, Daniel Beckwith, J.T. Davis and Caitlin Beckwith.
Funeral services were held Aug. 10 at 10 a.m. at the Buie Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Epperson officiating. Burial was in Center Campground Cemetery at Prague.
Pallbearers were: Sam Pruitt, Gary Reed, Kevin Taylor, Randy Curry, Terry Coffman and Roger House.

Phillip Joffre Van Hole
Phillip Joffre Van Hole, 79, died March 2, 2001, in Sheridan, Ark. He is the son of the late Rami A. and Daisy Vandiver Van Hole, and was born and educated in Saint Mary's, Kan.
Phil served 20 years in the United States Air Force, and retired in 1963 as a Chief Master Sergeant. An airplane armorer gunner during World War II, his plane was shot down over Austria and he spent the next year as a prisoner of war. His many medals included the ETO Ribbon, three Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart and Good Conduct Medal.
Following his retirement from the military service, Phil worked for 20 years for McDonnel-Douglas Aircraft Corporation in St. Louis, Mo.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Marjorie Hubbard Van Hole; include two of his four brothers: John Van Hole of Topeka, Kan., and Remi Van Hole of Brighton, Colo.; one of his five sisters: Helen Stohemeier of Grand Junction, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews, all from out-of-state.
The body was cremated. A military honor guard attended memorial services held at 2 p.m. on March 6 at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan with the Rev. Bob Pettit officiating and under the direction of Buie Funeral Home.

Myrtis Lois Whitmire Stevens
Mother Myrtis Lois Whitmire Stevens spent her first Easter in Heaven. She sweetly left her loved ones Friday evening and opened her eyes free from all earthly pain to see and know she is home at last after 96 years.
Myrtis was the older daughter of John and Homer Whitmire, born Aug. 3, 1904, in Grant County. She was preceded in death by one brother: Basil Scott Whitmire; and one sister: Murlee Stacks. Growing up, she married John "Shorty" Stevens, May 1, 1919 near Sheridan. Shortly preceded her in death in August 1980.
Myrtis was a member of the Marlow Baptist for the past 68 years.
Myrtis was the mother of nine children, five of which preceded her in death: two sons, James O. Stevens and Tommy "Jr." Stevens, and three daughters, Willa Buchanan, Marjorie Sue Stevens, and Virginia Ann Evans. She was also preceded in death by one grandchild, Jeffrey Todd Stevens.
Survivors include one sons: Dr. Bob Stevens and wife Adine of Colbert, Okla.; three daughters: Juanita Benson and her late husband James of Arlington, Texas, Nancy Tapp and husband Harry of Redfield, and Barbara Nichols and husband Buddy of Redfield; 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.
While studying in the Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock, her son Bobby was sent visiting in the old state hospital and the sign on the front desk made a lasting impression which read: "One mother can take care of eleven children, but eleven children cannot take care of one mother" Bobby's three living sisters, Jaunita, Nancy and Barbara took care of their mother, in the home of their mother, and each stood there when she was ushered into eternity.
Funeral services were conducted April 16, 3 p.m. at Marlow Baptist Church near Sheridan by the Rev. Charles Lewallen, pastor of the church. Burial was in Bethel-North Cemetery near Sheridan by Buie Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were James Heflin, Greg Burris, Chuck Croy, Dwayne Riely, Ian Dahlager, Johnny Evans and Charles Bowman. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Healey, Jimmy Stevens, Spencer Croy and Michael Wright.

Gloria Elizabeth Brossette Rogers
Gloria Elizabeth Brossette Rogers, 76, died Wednesday July 4, 2001, at Pine Groves Nursing Home in Center, Texas.
She was born June 28, 1925, in Bethany, La., the daughter of the late Archie Benton Brossette and Sarah Jane Billingsly Brossette.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law: Becky and Sam Walton of Hunter, La; a sister: Barbara Gipson of Timpson, Texas; a granddaughter and her husband: Cissy and Jim Dearman of Hunter, La; a grandson: Michael Walton of Sheridan, Ark; and her great-granddaughters: Lindsay and Kristin Dearman of Hunter, La. She was preceded in death by her husband: M.O. "Jack" Rogers.
Funeral Services were July 7 at Watson and Sons Funeral Home in Center, Texas. Bro. Jimmy Brossette and Bro. Weldon Sistruck officiated. Interment was at Union Springs Cemetery in Savine Parish, La.

Rita Jo Royal
Rita Jo Royal, 62, of North Little Rock passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2001. She was a retired cashier from Luby's and Wyatt's Cafeteria.
Rita was the daughter of the late Sarah (Smithson) and Ray Haddock of Sheridan and North Little Rock. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Thomas Ray Haddock and James E. ("Big Jim") Haddock.
Survivors include three sons: Robert Franklin Royal and Michael DeWayne Royal, both of Sheridan, and Richard Ray Royal of Fayetteville: two daughters: Brenda Darlene Ballew of North Little Rock and Lillian Annette Russell of Maumelle; one sister: Jimmie Ray Hollis of Sheridan; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Cypert of Sheridan officiating.
Pallbearers were Robert Royal, Michael Royal, Steve Hollis, Walt Hollis, Richard Royal, Steve Russell, Mike Holland, and Michael Ballew.
Burial was at New Hope Cemetery South of Sheridan on Aug. 9.

Danny Ray Buie
Danny Ray Buie, 48, of Prattsville, Ark., formerly of Wasilla, AK, passed away on June 28, 2001 at the home of his parents, Carol and Robert Buie.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Wayne.
He is survived by his wife: Janice Marie; one son: Casey Ray; one step-son: Jason Sharp; three daughters: Misty Marie, Michelle Ann Deffley, Melissa Rae Koon; two grandchildren; one sister: Tena Marie Schoggin; and two brothers: Donald Roy and Gary Robert.
Funeral services were held at the Holy Cross Church in Sheridan. He is missed by many.

Floyd Manly Nelson
Garry Gene Burr of Sheridan, Ark., was born March 29, 1956, in San Diego, Calif.; the son of Clara Louisa Cagle Neher and the late Wilbur Eugene Burr. Mr. Burr died Oct. 10, 2006 at his home at the age of 50.
Survivors include his sons: Garry Gene Burr, Jr. and Robert W. Burr both of California; daughters: Heather M. Burr of New York and Torie M. Silvia of Maine; mother and stepfather: Clara and Larry Neher of Sheridan; his only brother: Roland Burr and wife, Sandra of Searcy; and four grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 13 at Hardin Cemetery in Hardin.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Holt, Charles Goodman, Thomas Cagle, Ronnie Cagle, Donald Cagle and Tim Cagle.

Lena Harper Duncan
Lena Harper Duncan of Sheridan, Ark., was born July 8, 1909 in Sheridan, the daughter of the late Johnny Jackson and Sarah Emily Baker Harper. Mrs. Duncan died Oct. 11, 2006 in Pearl River, La. at the age of 97.
Mrs. Duncan was a member of Moores Chapel United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Olen Duncan; daughters: Ida Lee Davenport, Nolene Duncan and Brenda Kay Duncan; brothers: Claude, Lester, Pete, J. M., and Johnny Harper; sisters: Mattie Harper, Francis Corley, Roberta Yancey and Topsy Reed.
Survivors include her daughter: Olene Harris and husband, James of Pearl River, La.; brother: Jessie Cleo Harper and wife, Helen, of Sheridan; sisters: Helen Walker of Sheridan, Tresia McCool of Oregon; sisters-in-law: Mildred Harper and Helen Harper of Sheridan; grandchildren: William Davenport, Brenda Esser, James Olen Harris, Celia Davon and Glenn Harris, and great-grandchildren: Shaunna, Aaron, John Charles, Cachey, Susan and Cara.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 14 at New Hope Cemetery near Sheridan with Michael Walton officiating.

Ina B. Brown
Ina B. (Squires) Brown of Pahrump, NV, wife of the late Frank Brown of Grapevine, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 23, 2006. She was born on January 23, 1927 in Jennings, LA. The daughter of the late George W. Squires of Sheridan, and Aurelia B. Squires of Klamath Falls, OR, she grew up in the Little Creek community and graduated from Sheridan High School. She and her husband moved to Oregon in 1946 and relocated to Pahrum, NV in 1989. She is survived by a daughter, Rita Brown of Oakland, CA, and a son Kenneth brown and daughter-in-law Carol of Reno, NV., three grandsons and 5 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her only sibling, first playmate and best friend, June (Squires) Brewer of Conway, AR, formerly of Sheridan. Graveside services were held on September 28 in Pahrump, NV. A special memorial service was also held on October 8 by her church family at Choice Hills Southern Baptist Church in Pahrump, NV. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dovie Frances ( White) Finley
Dovie Frances ( White) Finley, 91, of Poyen, Ark., passed away Oct. 12, 2006 at Arbor Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Malvern.
She was born in the Glen Rose community to the late William Curry and Lona (Elridge) White on Oct. 14, 1914. She married Louie Finley in June, 1944, who preceded her in death in 1989. She was a homemaker and a member of Poyen Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons: Earl Glen Finley of Arkadelphia, and Melvin Finley and wife, Linda, of Malvern; two step-sons: L.D. Finley and wife, Ruth, and Horace Finley and wife, Nancy, all of Malvern; one step-daughter-in-law: Sue Finley of Benton; brother: Clemmie White and wife, Estelle, of Benton; sister-in-law: Louise White of Malvern; 13 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and soon to be: three great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a step-son: Eldridge Finley; a brother: Norris White; and a granddaughter: Kayce Finley.
Funeral services were held Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Poyen Missionary Baptist Church with Bros. Robert Speer and Steve Franklin officiating. Interment followed at Lindsey-Poyen Cemetery.
