MIGNON Z. PALMER WALLACE
Mignon "Minnie" Z. Palmer Wallace, 77, of Little Rock, a retired nurse from the Arkansas State Hospital in LIttle Rock, died Saturday, Feb. 17.
She was born May 2, 1923, at Greenbrier to Phillips Alex Palmer and Dora Ella Hall Palmer. She was a member of Union Valley Southern Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vonetta Aarons.
Surviving are her husband, Bert F. Wallace; five daughters, Mignon Cunningham of Chidester, Mary Gifford of Benton, Lynn Richardson of Alexander, Gail Carey of Benton and Rhonda Patterson of Casa; three brothers, Vernon Palmer and Dean Palmer, both of Pine Bluff and Cyril Palmer of Sherwood; two sisters, Mildred Fincher of Batesville and Avanell "Abby" Reeves of Warren; two grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Tuesday, Feb. 20 at Union Valley Southern Baptist Church. Burial as at Perryville Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home of Perryville was in charge of arrangements.

BETTY ANN HILSON CONDER
Betty Ann Hilson Conder, 71, of Cabot, an employee of Coleman Dairy, died Saturday, Feb. 17.
She was a member of the Congo Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and was a Baptist.
Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Jack Conder; a daughter, Judy Blacklock and her husband David of Bryant; two sons, Ronald Scott and his wife Linda of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Richard Scott and his wife Stella of Marshall; a sister, Eva Hilson Meeks of Cabot; six grandchildren, Jeff Scott and his wife Vicki, Chuck Scott and his wife Verena, Chris, Aaron, Cory and Justin; and one great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn Scott.
Funeral was Tuesday, Feb. 20 at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Sutton officiating. Burial was at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

JAMES MASON RIGGAN
James Mason Riggan, 49, of Memphis, formerly of Tull, a fire protection design engineers, died Wednesday, Feb. 21.
He was born Nov. 11, 1951 at Malvern and was a 1970 graduate of Bauxite High School. He attended Henderson State University and was an assistant scout master for Troop 295 at Maumelle and Troop 198 at Little Rock.
Surviving are two sons, James Cody Riggan and Jonathan Cody Riggan, both of Little Rock; his parents, Bearl and Melba Riggan of Tull and his grandmother, Della Riggan of Malvern.
Funeral was Saturday, Feb. 24 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial following at Ebenezer Cemetery.

CLAUDE J. RICE, JR.
Claude J. "Buster" Rice, Jr., 61, of Paron, a farmer died Wednesday, Feb. 21.
He was born Dec. 9, 1940 at Bauxite and was a member of Paron Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude J. and Leadith Rice and a bother, Bud Rice.
Surviving are two brothers, Denver Rice of Benton and Guy Rice of Paron; and two sisters, Melba Rucker of Benton and Kate Martin of Post, Texas.
Funeral was Saturday, Feb. 24 at Ashby Funeral Home with Calvin Turbyfill and Dennis Gage officiating. Burial was at Bolen Cemetery in Paron.

WALTER LEE Thompson III
Walter Lee Thompson III, 24, of Alexander, a truck driver for Anderson News and a volunteer fireman for Lake Norrell Fire Department, died Sunday, Feb. 18.
He was born Jan. 12, 1977 in San Diego, Calif. He was a member of the Avilla Missionary Baptist Church and the Amateur Hamm Radio Club.
Surviving are his mother, Sharon Forrester and her husband Martin of Alexander; his father, Walter Lee Thompson of Bozeman, Mont.; two brothers, Eric Forrest and Cody Forrester, both of Alexander; two sisters, Lisa Smith Doyle of California and Pamela Thompson of Alexander; and two nephews, Jonathan Barra and Tyler Doyle, both of California.
Funeral was Friday, Feb. 24 at Ashby Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Pallet officiating. Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

CLARA EVELYN WHETSTONE
Clara Evelyn Whetstone, 74, of Bryant, a homemaker, died Thursday, Feb. 22, in a Little Rock hospital.
She was born Sept. 25, 1926 in Doddridge, Arkansas. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant.
Surviving are her husband, Mural Whetstone; a son, Robert Whetstone of Bryant; one daughter, Kathy Esry of Alexander; one granddaughter, Cheryl Parks of Gravel Ridge; four grandsons, Beau and Sean Whetstone, both of Bryant, Shelby and Austin Esry, both of Alexander and a great-granddaughter, Gabriel Parks of Gravel Ridge.
Funeral was Monday, Feb. 26, at East Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Savers officiating. Burial was in East Memorial Gardens in Texarkana, Arkansas under the direction of East Funeral Home.

JOHNIE ROBERT WARFORD
Johnie Robert Warford, 88, of Benton, a pipe fitter at Alcoa, died Sunday, Feb. 25.
He was born Dec. 11, 1912 and was a Baptist and Mason. He was a member of Symbolic Degrees of Free Masonry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie C. and Elizabeth B. James Warford; his wife, Cordia Harvill Warford and a sister, Myrtle Manning.
Surviving are a son, Billy Fred Warford and his wife Nina Mae of Benton; a daughter, Janet Bearden and her husband Will of Benton; a brother, Vincil Warford and his wife Frances of Benton; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Tuesday at Ashby Funeral Home with the Rev. L.D. Campbell officiating. Burial was at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
Scheduled to serve at pallbearers were Nick Warford, Mickey Dean Warford, Charles Warford, John Bearden, Brad Harp, Stephen Bolin and Jeff Gwatney.

Robert "Ricky" Harkness
Robert "Ricky" Harkness, died Feb. 18, at the age of 52.
He was a Vietnam Veteran and worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 20 years.
He is survived by his mother Mary L. Harkness and his sisters Linda D. Moring, Tarin J. Jones and Suzanne Romine. He left behind three nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his dad, Robert C. Harkness.
He will be cremated and requested no services. Memorial can be made to the American Diabetes. Association, 11001 W. Markham, Little Rock, AR 72211. Arrangements by Griffin Leggett-Forest Hills.

EUGENE J. HALL
Eugene J. Hall, age 74, of Little Rock, died Monday, Feb. 26.
A member of First United Methodist Church, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy. He is survived by two sons
Charles Hall (Myra) of Largo, Fla., and Kevin Hall (Crystal) of Little Rock; one daughter Jennifer Delgato (Leno) of Bald Knob; three step-daughters Mischelle Strauss, Tamy Kating and Shaele Bolding; 16 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Graveside services were Thursday, March 1 at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements by Griffin Leggett-Forest Hills.

CAROLYN JEAN BROOKINS
Carolyn Jean Brookins, 55, of Little Rock, passed away Monday, Feb. 26. A member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church, she was an employee of Cashion Insurance and a member of the Saline Strikers Bowling League.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Velma Dollar and one sister Phyllis Martin. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Clathon "Clay" Brookins; a son Randy Brookins and his wife Laura of Mount Vernon; a daughter Candy Hayes and her husband Jim of Mabelvale; one brother Bob Dollar of Jonesboro; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services was Thursday, March 1, at Forest Hills Memorial Park.

JOHN B. WALLACE
John B. "Johnny" Wallace,, 84, of Bryant, a barber for more than 60 years and owner and operator of Johnny Wallace Barber Service in Bryant for 35 years, died Monday, Feb. 19.
He was born June 7, 1916, in Corinth, Miss. and was a member and deacon of Grace Baptist Church in Bryant. He was a World War II Army veteran, where he served in the Philippines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Wallace and a brother, Otho Wallace.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy Wallace of Bryant; two sons, John O. Wallace of Bryant and Charles Wallace and his wife Samme of Benton; three daughters, Libby Jones and her husband Jim of Benton, Velma G. Wallace of Benton and Faith Robinson and her husband Rick of Benton; two sisters, Dorothy Taylor and Alma Beene, both of Corinth, Miss.; and eight grandchildren: Andrea Wallace, Greg Wallace, Jayce Jones, Mandy Jones, Josh Robinson, Brittany Robinson, Jessica Wallace and Jennifer Triplett.
Funeral was Thursday, Feb. 23 at Ashby Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Walters and Rev. Edward Edmondson officiating. Burial was at Pinecrest Memorial Park with VFW Post 2278 of Hot Springs in charge of the military service.
Jim Jones, Jayce Jones, Rick Robinson, David Triplett, Maurice Dickinson and Royce Staley were to serve as pallbearers.

MARY CHANDLER
Mary Chandler, 74, of Little rock, died on Sunday, April 1.
She was a retired medical secretary and a member of Sunset Lane Baptist Church.
Funeral was held Tuesday, April 3, at Pine Grove Baptist Church. Burial was in National Cemetery.
Survivors are a son Frank Chandler, Jr. of Bryant; two daughters Donna Davidson of Little Rock and Sherri Irby of Reeds Spring, Mo.; five sisters Marjorie Pelkey and Frances Perkins, both of Maine, and Ella Sewall, Priscilla Thistle and Lyndora Thistle, all of Massachusetts; three brothers William MacNeill of North Carolina, Otis MacNeill of Sheridan, and Donald MacNeill of Florida; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
