Viola Patterson
Viola Pate Patterson, 77, of Springhill, La., died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000 in Springhill Medical Center.
Born May 20, 1922, she was a member of First United Methodist Church in Springhill, La.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Patterson, three sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include a brother, Altus Pate and wife, Mary, of Waldo; and a stepdaughter, Doris Needham of Prescott.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery in Camden with the Rev. Weldon Bares officiating and Bailey Funeral Home Inc. of Magnolia in charge.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rufus Stuart
Rufus Garland Stuart, 91, of Taylor, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000 in Magnolia Hospital.
Born March 4, 1908 in Lafayette County, he was a retired mail carrier, member of First Baptist Church of Taylor serving as a deacon for 50 years, member of the Hughey Lodge No. 70 as a 32nd degree Mason, awarded the Masonic Medal of Honor and served as executive secretary for 45 years and member of Eastern Star No. 613 serving as a former Worthy Patron.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Marie Stuart, and an infant son, Charles Rufus Stuart.
Survivors include three sons, William Charles Stuart and wife, Shirley, of Baton Rouge, La., James Wade Stuart and wife, Gay, of Kansas City, Mo., and Rufus Garland Stuart Jr. and wife, Treesa, of New Orleans, La.; a daughter, Mary Helen Grigsby and husband, George, of Monroe, La.; seven grandchildren, Suzi Morrow and husband, Craig, Christi Jones and husband, David, Cynde Seal and husband, Ronnie, Joshua Stuart, Jaime Stuart, Caleb Stuart and James Wade Stuart II; five great-grandchildren, Garrett Morrow, Skyler Morrow, Micah Morrow, Lindy Jones and Jessica Seal; four sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Otis Stuart and Marjorie Stuart, both of Magnolia, Elizabeth Stuart and Sybil Stuart, both of Taylor, and Ralph Orrich and Jane of Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Taylor with the Rev. Jerry Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery with Smith Funeral Homes Inc. of Stamps in charge.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. Monday to time of service at First Baptist Church in Taylor.

Kelley Ensley
Kelley McClendon Ensley, 23, of Stamps, died Sunday, May 7, 2000 at her home.
She was born Oct. 14, 1976 in Magnolia. She was employed by the prosecuting attorney's office and was to graduate from Southern Arkansas University on Friday, May 12 with a major in political science and a minor in psychology. She was a member of Pi Gamma Mu, a social science honor society and Alpha Chi Honor Society. She was Miss Stamps High School and a member of the Lewisville Church of Christ.
Survivors include her mother Cindy Dianne McClendon of Stamps; her father, Dana Robin McClendon and step-mother Lisa of Magnolia; a brother, Brian McClendon of Stamps; two step-brothers; maternal grandparents, Bruce and Shirley Vickers of Stamps; paternal grandmother, Ollie Mae McClendon of Stamps; maternal great-grandmother, Hazel Vickers of Texarkana; four uncles; two aunts; and numerous cousins.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with the Rev. Glen Pace officiating and the Rev. Alan Howton assisting. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery with Smith Funeral Home in Stamps in charge.
Family visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Elizabeth Walker
Elizabeth Harrel Walker, 91, of Fort Worth, Texas died Monday, May 8, 2000 in Fort Worth.
Born March 25, 1909 in Lewisville, she was the daughter of N.D. and mamie Harrel. She loved bridge and fishing. She lived most of her life in Magnolia and moved to Fort Worth in 1980.
She was preceded in death by her husband James E. Walker Jr.
Survivors include a son, James E. Walker III and wife Jane; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Graveside service was 11 a.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Memorial park with Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth in charge.
Memorials may be made to Western Hills United Methodist Church.

John Williams
John T. Williams, 69, of Emerson, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000 in the home. Service is pending with Lewis Funeral Home, Inc.

Greaner Bell
Greaner Bell, 81, of Emerson, died Saturday, May 27 in her home.
Born Aug. 23, 1918 in Magnolia, she was the daughter of Pierce and Homa Goosby. She was a member of Emerson Street Church of Christ and a member of the Noxube Extension Homemakers Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include two sons, Earl Bell of Chicago and Marvin Bell of Emerson; five daughters, Ruthie Chamberlain of Muskegon, Mich., Vernestine Kelly of Compton, Calif., Imogene Coats of Los Angeles, Zetta Ford of Country Club Hills, Ill. and Carolyn Murphy of Perris, Calif.; three brothers, Calvin Goosby and Pierce Goosby of Muskegon and Marvin Goosby of Toledo, Ohio; seven sisters, Effie Goosby of Magnolia, Marie Paschal of Compton, Leslie Banks of Emerson, Vernall Ingram and Delois Goosby of Detroit, Vera Phillips of Florida and Edna Irvin of Magnolia.
Service will be noon Saturday at Emerson Street Church of Christ in Magnolia with the Rev. Larry Roberts. Burial will follow in the Elam-Noxube Cemetery in Emerson with Henderson Funeral Service in charge.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
Viewing will be at 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Reginald Bell, Jerry Bell, Gary Bell, Jacques Bell, Charlie Cooper, Timothy Lockhart and Wallace Aubrey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Malvin Goosby, Earl Bell and Marvin Ray Bell.

Pat Cantanesi
Pat Cantanesi, 56, of Genoa, died Monday, May 29, 2000 in Wadley Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born April 23, 1944 in Memphis, Texas, was an accountant and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include Shiloh 82 Baptist Church family in Texarkana.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at the Shiloh 82 Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Baldridge officiating with Smith Funeral Home of Stamps in charge.

Henry Aldridge
Henry Aldridge, 76, of Hope, died Monday, June 5, 2000.
Born Aug. 2, 1923 in Waldo, he was the son of Henry and Pearl Hanson Aldridge. He was a World War II Navy veteran, 32nd- degree Mason Dallas Temple in Dallas, VFW, a Shriner and also a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mae McKee Aldridge and four brothers, Minor Aldridge, Bobby Aldridge, Jessie Aldridge and Ivie Aldridge.
Survivors include three sons, Harold Aldridge of Seattle, Wash., Billy Aldridge of Dallas and Ervin Pardue of Arlington, Texas; a daughter, Barbara Sharp of Waldo; three sisters, Zettie Reeves of Little Rock, Ruby Nix of Magnolia and Elsie Rowe of Waldo; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Herndon Chapel in Hope with the Rev. Danny Nix officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Herndon Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Vera Ballard
Vera Elizabeth Duncan Ballard, 87, of Village, died Monday, June 5, 2000 in the Magnolia City Hospital.
Born Oct. 13, 1912 in Village, she was the daughter of Z.P. and Maggie (Threadgill) Duncan. She was a homemaker and a member of Village Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband W.D. Ballard, twin children, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include a son, Billy D. Ballard of Hot Springs Village; two sisters, Inez Duncan Moore and Verla Duncan O' Dell, both of Village; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Village Baptist Church with the Rev. James Coward officiating.
Burial will follow in the Village Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in charge.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. tonight at Lewis Funeral Home.

Alton Wilson
Alton C. Wilson, 86, of Magnolia, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000 in Wadley Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.
Service is pending with Lewis Funeral Home, Inc.

Thomas Bright
Thomas Bright, 92, of Waldo, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000 at the Magnolia Hospital.
He was born Jan. 19, 1908 in Columbia County. He was a member of the Mount Vernon Community Church, where he served as a trustee and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Bright of Waldo; a son, Billy Bright of Waldo; and four grandchildren.
Service was at 10:30 a.m. this morning at the Mount Vernon Community Church with the Rev. Mike Goodwin officiating.
Burial followed in the Mount Vernon Cemetery with Smith Funeral Home of Stamps in charge.

Myrtle Dodd
Myrtle Dodd, 77, of Village, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000 in the Magnolia Hospital. Service is pending with Lewis Funeral Home Inc.
