Athlene Waller
Athlene P. Waller, 81, of Plano, Texas, formerly of Magnolia, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000 in Plano.
Born May 4, 1919 in Columbia County, she was the daughter of William Clifford and Lena Ware Peace. She was a retired legal secretary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Waller.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan McLaughlin and husband Randy of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Harold Peace and Fred Peace; and a grandson, John Paul McLaughlin.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be held at Magnolia Memorial Park.

Pauline Wells
Pauline Dennis Wells, 94, of Waldo, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000 in the Magnolia City Hospital.
Born Jan. 23, 1906 in the Mount Vernon community, she was the daughter of Hammond and Nannie (Elmore) Dennis. She was a homemaker, a Methodist and a member of the Mount Vernon Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Sam Wells and a sister, Clarice Dennis Frazier.
Survivors include a son, Douglas Wells and wife Esther of Oceanside, Calif.; a granddaughter, Karen Prince and husband Charles of Upland, Calif.; a grandson, Sam Wells and wife Kathy of Dallas, Ore.; a special caregiver, Dorothy Frazier Johnson of Waldo; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Mount Vernon Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Goodwin officiating and Lewis Funeral Home Inc. in charge.
Pallbearers will be Terry Hanson, Bobby Hanson, James Drake, Wayne Stevens, Charles Lambeth, David Reeves and Glen Wright.
Memorials may be made to the Mount Vernon Cemetery Fund.

Junior Henderson
Junior Lee Henderson, 46, of Magnolia, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000 in the Magnolia City Hospital.
Born July 10, 1954 in Taylor, he was the son of Roy Lee Sr. and Arvenia Ellison Henderson.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Gail Henderson of Magnolia; his mother, Arvenia Henderson of Magnolia; three brothers, Roy Lee Henderson Jr., Roy Chester Henderson and Jimmy J. Henderson, all of Magnolia; three sisters, Glenda Ruth Williams, Shirley Annette Johnson and Linda Gail Henderson, all of Magnolia; his step-grandmother, Ocie B. Ellison of Springhill, La.; a grandchild; five uncles; and two aunts.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Henderson's Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Adam Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery in Taylor with Henderson's Funeral Service in charge.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Henderson's Mortuary.

John Stringer
John D. Stringer, 83, of Waldo, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000 at the Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana. Service is pending with Marks Funeral Home Inc.

Dallas Stewart
Dallas James Stewart, 79, of Houma, La., formerly of Waldo, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000.
He was born on Sept. 10, 1921. He was a member of the United States Army 790th Bomber Squadron and was retired from the Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John J. Stewart and Kate Johnson Stewart and his wife, Marguerite Hebert Stewart.

Willie Brewer
Willie Joe Brewer, 43, of the Friendship community near Stamps, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001 in the Magnolia Hospital. Service is pending with Marks Funeral Home Inc.

J.B. Cutright
J.B. Cutright, 86, of Waldo, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001 in the Magnolia Hospital.
Born July 14, 1914 in Minden, La., he was the son of the Rev. John P. and Ida Bell Rome Cutright.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Lloyd, Lester, Sylvester, Almond, Willie Ester, Zora and Mertha; his parents; and wife, Elizabeth Smith Cutright.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Fairview Church of God in Christ in Waldo with the Rev. Walter Whatley officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery with Marks Funeral Home Inc. in charge.
Pallbearers will be John L. Jones, Cliff McMullion, Charles Witcher, Larry Dismuke, Winfred Mixon and Billy R. Mayfield.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

David Henry
David Riley Henry, 49, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001 in the East Texas Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nena Banner Henry.
Survivors include his wife, Dee Ann Denman Henry; father and stepmother, Fred and Nancy Henry of Magnolia; his grandmother, Dolores Banner of Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter, Heather Walton of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; two grandsons; a stepdaughter; a stepson; five stepbrothers; a sister-in-law; and a brother-in-law.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bates-Cooper Chapel with the Revs. Rickey Rick, Craig Maxwell and Mike Kessler officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in Pittsburg, Texas with Bates-Cooper Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant, Texas in charge.
Pallbearers will be Lloyd Billups, Don Cardinal, Jimmy Clark, John Denman Jr., Don Kercheual, Craig Maxwell, Charles and Frank Welborn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Laddie Landers, James Chapel, Tommy Lee, Larry Morris, Bobby Steffey and Ricky Roach.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Bates-Cooper Funeral Home.

William Baucum
William Barton "Pete" Baucum, 82, of Richmond, Va., formerly of Magnolia, died Sunday, April 1, 2001 at the MCV Hospital in Richmond.
Born July 8, 1918 in Buckner, he was the son of Benjamin Aubrey and Artie Riggins Baucum. He was senior purchasing agent for Shell Oil, member of the First United Methodist Church in Magnolia and was a first sergeant in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Talley Baucum; and a sister, Florene Shively.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Baucum Franklin and husband Steve of Midlothian, Va., and Ann Baucum Whiteside and husband Randy of Franklin, Tenn.; a sister, Mary Ellon Hunt of Haynesville, La.; and four grandchildren, Stephen Franklin and Katherine Franklin, both of Midlothian and Katie Whiteside and Daniel Whiteside, both of Franklin.
Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Bob Burnham officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home Inc. in charge.
Pallbearers will be Quinton Riggins, Dennis Murray, Jack English, Ed Pharr, Robert Pharr and William Sidney.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Home.

Charles Dodson Jr.
Charles Dale Dodson Jr., 82, died Friday, March 30, 2001 in his home.
He was a native and longtime resident of Magnolia and had been a resident of Breaux Bridge, La., for a year.
He was the son of Charles Dale Dodson Sr. and the former Velma Powell, both natives of Magnolia. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, who served in World War II and was employed by Smitty's Grocery for 40 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Magnolia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jamie Cofield Dodson; a daughter, Nona Beth Dodson; and a son, Charles Thomas Dodson.
Survivors include a son, Hal Dale Dodson of Maumelle; 10 grandchildren, Charles Thomas Dodson Jr., Halbert Dale Dodson Jr., Charni Elizabeth Hunt, Jay Madison Dodson, Graham Cofield Dodson, Kristen Rene Dodson, Krissa Marie Dodson, Bryant Matthew Hendricks, Kayla Annette Dodson and Tyler Carle Dodson; two great-grandchildren, Cole Madison Dodson and Charni Ly-Lan Hunt; and a sister, Betty Ann of Magnolia.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Park Cemetery Martin & Castille Funeral Home Inc. of Lafayette, La., in charge.

Rodney Aldridge
Rodney Aldridge, 63, of Magnolia, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001 in the Mgnolia City Hospital.
Born Feb. 9, 1938 in Columbia County, he was the son of Ivie Edward and Emma Jean (Bridges) Aldridge. He was an employee of Alcoa for 44 years, a member of Asbury Methodist Church and a lifetime cattle farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Louise Aldridge.
Survivors include his wife, Iris Cheatham Aldridge of Magnolia; two sons, Charles Aldridge of Magnolia and Jeff Aldridge of Springhill, La.; a daughter, Rhonda Wilson and husband Curtis of Shannon Hills; a sister, Linda Cheatham and husband Neil of Magnolia; two grandsons, Michael Brantley and Christopher Brantley, both of Shannon Hills; a granddaughter, Staci Brantley of Shannon Hills; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Service was 10:30 a.m. today at Lewis Chapel with the Revs. Bob Terry and Danny Nix officiating.
Burial followed in the Village Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home Inc. in charge.
Pallbearers were Jeff Aldridge, Jimmy Ellis, Troy Braswell, Paul Moss, Fran Camp and Jackie Barton.
Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Foster, Tommy Fallin and L.B. "Junior" Franks.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
