WWII sailor was a retired carpenter
MURFREESBORO -- Memorial services for Herman Rolland Cummings, 75, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 9 at Calvary Tabernacle Church. Rev. Mathew Marshall officiated.
Mr. Cummings was born March 17, 1927, son of the late Walter B. and Flossie Belle Lingo Cummings. He died Wednesday, April 3, 2002.
A World War II Navy veteran, Mr. Cummings was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include: his wife, Carol Lillie Cummings; five daughters, Cheryle Murdock of Anderson, Ind., Sheila Blanchard of Falkville, Ala., Kathryn Stephens, Jennifer Allen and Robin Barnes, all of Murfreesboro; one brother, Wesley Cummings; and one sister, Norma Jean of Little Rock; 11 grandchildren nad 12 great-grandchildren.

Katelyn Grace Key
Maternal grandparents are Nashville residents
NASHVILLE -- Graveside services for Katelyn Grace Key, infant daughter of Jerry and Wendy Ross Key of Foreman, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 in County Line Cemetery. Arrangements were by Nashville Funeral Home.
The infant was born Aug. 7, 2002, in a Texarkana hospital, and she died Aug. 7, 2002.
Survivors include: her parents; two sisters, Kendra Key and Kristin Key, both of Foreman; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Linda Ross of Nashville; paternal grandparents, Mary and Jerry Key, Sr., of Foreman; maternal great-grandparents, George and Linda Ross of Nashville; paternal great-grandparents, Loraine Woods Gore of Foreman; and paternal great-great-grandmother, Viola Chadwick of Foreman.

Gerald Leroy Scharff
Age 83
NASHVILLE -- Gerald Leroy Scharff, 83, died Feb. 14, 2003, in a local nursing home.
memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 in Liberty Baptist Church.

James Dewan Vaught, 66
Logger's body rode his truck to gravesite
DIERKS -- James Dewan `J.D." Vaught, 66, of Dierks died April 12, 2003, in a Texarkana hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15 in Langley Hall, followed by burial in the Langley Hall Cemetery by Wilkerson Funeral Home of Dierks.
Survivors include: his wife, Lynn Jones Vaught of Dierks; three daughters, Carina Tolleson of Kirby, Tammy Hill of Bryant and Beverly Joe of Hot Springs; a step-son, Jamie Vinyard of Dierks; and two sisters, Mary Louise Cook of Kirby and Glenda Lovelace of St. Croix, Virgin Islands.
Memorials may be made to Log-A-Load for Kids for Arkansas Children's Hospital, 800 Marshall Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202.

Dallas Latch
A former elder of the Delight Church of Christ
DELIGHT -- Funeral services for Dallas Latch, 87, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12 in the Delight Church of Christ. Wallace Alexander officiated, and was assisted by Randy Hughes, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home.
Burial was in Paradise Cemetery under the direction of Swengel Funeral Home in Salem, Ill.
Mr. Latch was born Feb. 28, 1915, son of the late Orville and Edith Latch. He died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at his home.
A member of the Delight Church of Christ, he was a former elder, a retired welder and superintendent for Trunkline Gas Co.
Mr. Latch was preceded in death by: his first wife, Lois Mary Latch; a son, Larry DeWayne Latch; a brother, Dale Latch; two sisters, Ella Faye Latch and Betty Lou Latch.
Survivors include: his wife, Evelyn Latch of Delight; a son, Gary Wayne Latch; two brothers, Bill Latch and Charles Latch; two sisters, Mary Edith Baker and Elizabeth Ann Streming; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews and nieces.

Gleoria Jo Wilson, 62
Native of Nashville
TEXARKANA -- Gleoria Jo Wilson, age 62, of Texarkana, Ark., died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, in a local adult care facility.
Gleoria was born Dec. 5, 1940, in Nashville, Ark., and had lived in Texarkana most of her life. She was retired from Red River Army Depot, and she was a Sunday School teacher and member of First Baptist Church, Moores Lane.
She is survived by: her husband, Norvin Wilson of Texarkana, Ark.; a daughter and son-in-law, Dana and James Brooks of Texarkana, Texas; a brother, Charles `Buddy" Young of Ashdown, Ark.; a sister, Terry L. Young of Nashville, Ark.; a special grandson, Connor Brooks of Texarkana, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17 in Fuqua-Everett Memorial Chapel at Texarkana Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Sims and Dr. Richard Hornok officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.
Those wishing to memorialize Mrs. Wilson may make contributions to First Baptist Church, Moores Lane Children's Department, 3015 Moores Lane, Texarkana, Texas 75503 or the Susan G. Komen Foundation, 2801 Richmond Road, PMB 164, Texarkana, Texas 75503.
The family will be at their residence at 1201 East 42nd Street in Texarkana.

Earlean Scoggins, 75
Was active member of Dodson Street Church of Christ
NASHVILLE -- Funeral services for Earlean Wesson Scoggins, 75, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 in Dodson Street Church of Christ. Bro. Norman Adamson officiated.
Burial was in the Center Point Cemetery under the direction of Hicks Funeral Home.
Mrs. Scoggins was born June 8, 1926, in Center Point, and she died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, in a Little Rock hospital.
She was employed in the poultry industry and was a member of Dodson Street Church of Christ, where she was a Sunday school teacher, usher, choir member and secretary-treasurer of the Ladies Bible Class.
Survivors include: a son, Don Scoggins of Nashville; four daughters, Janice Green and Mary Scoggins, both of Houston, Texas, Loretta Scoggins of Waco, Texas, and Peggy Scoggins of Nashville; three sisters, Fern Robinson of Inglewood, Calif., Mae Lou Hendrix of Quitman, Texas, and Nona Thomas of Maud, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Henry Daniel
Henry Daniel Jr. of West Memphis died May 14 at his home.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in West Memphis. Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with burial following in Paradise Gardens Cemetery. Anthony Funeral Home South has charge of services.
Mr. Daniel, 53, leaves his parents, Henry and Rosie Daniel of West Memphis.

Rosie Merritt
Rosie Merritt of Crawfordsville died Thursday at Methodist Hospital in Memphis.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Anthony Funeral Home Chapel South. Services will be at noon Friday at 15th Street Church of God in Christ in West Memphis with burial following in Marion Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Merritt, 80, leaves nine daughters, Lovie Taylor, Carolyn Bates and Bernice Bates, all of Crawfordsville, Bobbie Brown of West Memphis, Earnestine Price of Kansas City, Mo., Martha Murray and Shirley Webb, both of Memphis, Dorothy Burnett of Chicago, Ill., and Marilyn Tolbert of Warren; three sons, John H. Merritt and Willie E. Merritt, both of Crawfordsville, and W.C. Merritt of West Memphis; 42 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchidren.

Celestine Sago
Celestine "Tina" Sago of West Memphis died Sunday at her home.
Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Anthony Funeral Home Chapel South. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Wonder City Boys Club in West Memphis with burial following in Paradise Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Sago, 40, leaves her husband, Harold Sago; one son, Thaddeus Scales of West Memphis; one stepson, Heraldo Sago of Memphis; one stepdaughter, Shara Sago-Turner of Kahokia, Ill.; her mother and stepfather, Katherine and Andrew Wilson of West Memphis; her father, Charlie Scales of Milwaukee, Wis.; one sister, Latosha Whittier of West Memphis; three brothers, the Rev. Michael Davis and Charlie T. Scales, both of West Memphis, and Charles T. Scales of Holly Springs, Miss.; her grandfather, the Rev. James Davis of West Memphis and three grandchildren.

Blanche Williams
Blanche Cobb Williams of West Memphis died Monday at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.
Visitation will be Thursday from 10-11:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Clarendon later followed at 2 p.m. by a graveside service at Macedonia Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home in Clarendon has charge of services.
Officiating will be Bro. Jerry Hopper and the Rev. Pat Litts.
Mrs. Williams, 88, a homemaker, was originally from Holly Grove and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Holly Grove. The widow of Andrew C. Williams, she is also preceded in death by two sisters, Mayola Thompson and Alene Ware.
Williams leaves two daughters, Frances W. Hayhurst of Germantown, Tenn., and Billie J. Luttrell of West Memphis; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family requests that any memorials be sent to the Macedonia Cemetery Fund in Holly Grove.

Frankie Woodley
Frankie Woodley of West Memphis died Tuesday at Crittenden Memorial Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Anthony Funeral Home South has charge of services.

Carl Davidson
Carl Wayne Davidson of Parkin died Sunday at Crittenden Memorial Hospital.
Services were at 10 a.m. today at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne with private burial in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.
Mr. Davidson, 82, a retired farmer, was a member of the Parkin Methodist Church.
He was a former member of the Parkin Lions Club and had been active in The Good Shepherd Center in Wynne.
He leaves his wife Rebecca J. Davidson; two sons, Carl Wayne Davidson Jr. of Green Cove Springs, Fla. and Bruce Davidson of Russellville; one daughter, Jo Ellen Green of Nederland, Texas and five grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be sent to Parkin United Methodist Church or the Cross County Library.
